"that's okay.. we'll do the routine to 'That's the way I like it'" Which is the exact same song, and nobody had time to object.. only, funny thing is "that's the way" was probably more sexually suggestive that "get down tonight"... hilarious... lol

When KC & the Sunshine Band first his the airwaves, people lost their minds! It was fun, upbeat, and totally new! Then, imagine everyone's surprise when they found out that KC (Harry Wayne Casey) was a White dude from Florida! Just another blue-eyed soul brother from the 70s who changed music forever. :) My Okie mother was a HUGE fan of KC & the Sunshine Band! Dude! check out Three Dog Night " Black And White " some time. a great band with some great songs from the 60's and 70's. The subject of this song has a beautiful message. Keep it real and have a great day bro.
Also, we were poor in Tulsa, so we bought our jeans from the navy surplus store on Lewis ave. They were bellbottoms cuz they came from the navy. I think that’s how bell bottoms got popular.
My mom would split my pants and put colorful material, like a triangle sewed in . My favorite pair as i got taller she'd put material all around the bottom so i could still wear them. 😂
I remember the golden years of the 70's and 80's where my country was colour blind...it was great. The divisive politics of today are tearing my country apart
Huh. Then I guess y’all weren’t living in the part of Texas I was where I learned EXTREMELY racist songs on the playground and we were dealing with the aftermath of integrating the schools with physical buildings of both the white and the black high schools and the vandalism. Other schools thought we were too black in Galveston and you’d get mugged or something if your team came to play us. 🙄 You can love this band and their music and how wonderful the integration was in some bands. But don’t lie to yourself about “colorblind” 70s and 80s.
I still have some bell bottom hip huggers. I also had cropped sweaters. One was green with a big frog on the front. Looked spectacular with big old bell bottoms.
I knew the moment I saw the title this was gonna be great! Lots of songs to choose from: Please Don’t Go, Shake Your Booty, That’s The Way, Keep It Comin Love, Boogie Shoes, Get Down Tonight etc… love the horns!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Back in 1978 straight out of high school I went to work for Disney world. I was minding my own business walking down the tunnels and felt the presence of a lot of people around me. I looked up and it was KC and the whole band walking out with me and he was the nicest person. They all were.
KC was pure Gold back in the day. The Sunshine Band is called that 'cause, they're from Florida, the Sunshine State. May sound crazy but, back then every Roller Skating Rink in the USA cranked this up to 11 on their Friday / Saturday night skate sessions. The roller-dancing was off the chart. Disco's were thumping to this. But, the band was falling behind on the changing times in Pop / Rock and Disco was dying. The New Wave sounds of the Cars, Blondie and the Knack were at the door. Fun Fact: KC and Sunshine band, due to have 10 members in the band, were having to split the royalties 10 ways. Granted, KC got 40% but that left 9 others splitting 60% or basically, each only getting about 6.67% of the "take" + a salary. Harder times came in the '80's and they never got the television airplay from MTV to keep them relevant. Still, their many hits live on.
This genre was known was "disco funk," and KC and the Sunshine band were one of the biggest at the time. Other tracks include "Get Down Tonight", "That's the Way (I Like It), "Boogie Shoes" (released in 1975), as well as "Shake Your Booty" and "Keep it Coming Love" (release in 1976), among others. Everyone wore bell bottoms at the time (you couldn't find straight leg pants at the time), but KC and the band were known for their technicolour and bedazzled disco outfits, and the brass sections' coordinated dance moves while playing. During one of their concerts (can't remember which one), one of the band members started busting a move centre stage, it was awesome. Back then, the 'Boogie man'' referred to the DJ, and 'boogie' was also a colloquial expression that meant "getting down" on the dance floor.
Hip hugger bell bottoms to be exact with halter tops 😁 & the boogie music... fun fun fun!! This old hippie definitely appreciates the memories you bring up with your reactions. Thank you!! ❤ Keep on Truckin 😉 Us oldies will remember that saying. 😂 Be Safe & Blessings EVERYONE ❣️

Heck yeah I wore hip higger bell bottoms with platform shoes....danced "The 4 Corners" ( A dance of the times) to Motown music and other R&B, Soul and Funk music. This is,my generation's music. Boogie Man in this song refers to the D.J. playing music to boogie ( dance) to......all night or day, whenever you want to dance.
Back in the day, I had such a crush on Harry Casey. Great smile. I went with my parents to see them play at the local Six Flags (before it was Six Flags in the mid 70s. The arena was packed, and we sat in the next to top row. My Dad was an old time musician, he was a pianist/band leader of a big band in the 1930s. He loved these guys! He loved the horn section choreography! They were amazing. 💜💜💜
I just saw them in concert about a month ago, he is 73 years old now and still performing. He is awesome and was a heart throb for all the girls when I was growing up including me!! He has always had a mix of blacks and whites in his band. I'm white and never thought a thing about it and still dont.
Oooh yes, takes me right back to middle school. Loved KC and the Sunshine Band. Yes, we all wore bell bottoms in the 70s, kids and adults. Belive it or not, they were actually really stylish in the day 🤣
Probably 15 years ago KC and many newer Sunshine Band members played our local fair and it was all still banging. KC and the SB had nothing but happy music, always made you want to dance, even their slow songs.
I'm 64 and I was a teenager back in the 70s. This brings back great memories. We had so much fun!!! I definitely wore bell bottoms. We didn't care if they were efficient. We just wanted to have fun and be outrageous!

I'm 79 years old and totally love seeing your reactions to our music. This is when it was real music, really stepped out big time in the 60's and 70's. There is so much more out there for you to discover what real music was all about!! Love listening to you
Yes, I wore bell bottoms in high school in the 1970s, since the late 1960s they were a fashion trend. You may want to react to KC & the Sunshine band's other hits, like "Get Down Tonight" and "My Boogie Shoes" which is on the Saturday Night Fever movie soundtrack. I love "I Get Lifted"!
You've got to react to Boogie Shoes. Great line dancing song, and back in the day, we didn't even know what line dancing was!! This band was for moving and grooving!!
They're a fun band and they even made you laugh, BP! ha ha. Their songs are upbeat and were great to dance to! Bell bottoms were cool (groovy) and the style in the mid to late 1960s into the early to mid 1970s. I loved my bell bottoms!! Thanks for a great time!!
If you like to see blended bands producing fantastic music, I can highly recommend The English Beat - check out their songs "Too Nice to Talk To", and "Mirror in the Bathroom".
In the 70's the word "boogie" was to dance. I was too young to go to the clubs when he had all the hits but I sure had fun dancing to this band in the living room.
This reaction and little house on the TV. I'm officially back for a moment and it's a glorious feeling. Later I'll be hitting the outside world today. I'd rather not. Thank you for the reaction.
The hippy & disco era's were all about peace & inclusion, & race didn't matter whatsoever! I am not sure where it went wrong, but somewhere along the line, the division started again........I miss the 70's & 80's
That's The Way (I Like It) Please Don't Go (Shake shake shake) Shake Your Booty Get Down Tonight Boogie Shoes Keep It Coming Love KC and the Sunshine Band had a stack of hits
Gotta remember this was after the 60's free love and the young didn.t give a crap about color, we believe in hearts and souls. This was 1 of my 1st 8 tracks. Still love it!! And KC had a fine butt....LOL
... lots of hits from KC & the Sunshine Band, from Hialeah, FL. They came to prominence in 1975 with their single "Get Down Tonight" and their self-titled hit album. Prior to this, they were a bit more funky, and had a 1974 funky club hit called "Queen of Clubs" and also "Sound Your Funky Horn". In 1978, they did a great remake of "It's The Same Old Song". Also, in the middle 70s, "boogie" meant dance, so a Boogie Man would be a dancing man!!!!
I transitioned to what ever music era that was new. I went Soul music, Groovin' the music, Psychedelic music, Rock music, Soft Rock, Heavy Metal music, Head Bagging music, New Wave Music & more. I had the best time to enjoy it all. And yes I went Disco and my sister who is younger then me taught me how to dance Disco. I went to clubs & danced and went to the Roller Ring and danced disco on Roller Blades. I tell ya the mid 60's, all of the 70's & to mid 80's was the best Era of all. I got to live through it all & witness so much. Hell of a ride it was.
I absolutely wore bell bottoms in the 1970’s. They were an integral part of the experience. Us ladies would open the seam of the denim jeans from the knee down and sew in extra fabric, usually a floral print to make them extra large bells
🇬🇧 You are correct, KC & TSB did sing "That's The Way I Like It". "Please Don't Go" "Shake Your Booty" & "Get Down Tonight", BANGERS. ❤🎶🎼
Don't forget Boogie Shoes!

Boogie Shoes, That’s The Way I Like It, Get Diwn Tonight and Shake Your Booty are MUSTS!!!
One of my most favorite concerts ever!! 1978 was a great year. 😁👍🎶 He handed me a red rose in the front row as he sang "Please Don't Go"! Let me tell ya... I swooned! Lol 😉
I'm 79 years old and totally love seeing your reactions to our music. This is when it was real music, really stepped out big time in the 60's and 70's. There is so much more out there for you to discover what real music was all about!! Love listening to you
Aaahhhh yes, Skate Ranch, yes, awesome big bells, Farrah hair, "that braless look, very little makeup...❤❤❤ a wonderful time to grow up, the 70's! 😊
YES BELL-BOTTOMS 60'S & 70'S..........
You've got to react to Boogie Shoes. Great line dancing song, and back in the day, we didn't even know what line dancing was!! This band was for moving and grooving!!
Dude is almost 80 and still plays live like he was in his 20s
We all will be " rocking" off this earth and I don't mean chairs. Lol
Early 70's! Leisure suits, one piece jump suits, feathered hair, fros' .......Rock On!!!
Bell bottoms. I loved them. I wore them. Also had wide leg jeans and Pepsi platform sneakers. lol
Back in the day to Boogie was to dance. So he's your dancing man or dance partner.
First right answer.
Exactly!
"Boogie" had a different connotation back in the 70's, young stud. Great review...
If you like to see blended bands producing fantastic music, I can highly recommend The English Beat - check out their songs "Too Nice to Talk To", and "Mirror in the Bathroom".
❤
Boogie Man is about a DJ willing to spin records any time of day.
Actually going to see them next month. My first show was when I was 14, way back in the 70s. Have seen them several times in between. Fun music.
He put on a helluva show, don't let him fool you. The audience is literally on its feet the whole time.
The hippy & disco era's were all about peace & inclusion, & race didn't matter whatsoever! I am not sure where it went wrong, but somewhere along the line, the division started again........I miss the 70's & 80's
My absolute favorite of theirs is "Boogie Shoes." That song will make you dance!
To "boogie" is to dance!
So yeah, if he's saying he's a boogie man he better get up and prove it!
Uh nooo, that’s not what he is referring to….
@@1BobsYourUncle
Yes he is.
@@JaquelineGoodspeed no, he isn’t. You people are naive…
..."Class of 76"...And the floor was packed!
Oh gosh I remember dancing to KC at the cocktail lounges back in the day. Fun times❤Stay safe
That's The Way (I Like It)
Please Don't Go
(Shake shake shake) Shake Your Booty
Get Down Tonight
Boogie Shoes
Keep It Coming Love
KC and the Sunshine Band had a stack of hits
Yes! That’s the way I like it🎉
Bell Bottoms, Platform shoes and Satin shirts!!
Gotta remember this was after the 60's free love and the young didn.t give a crap about color, we believe in hearts and souls. This was 1 of my 1st 8 tracks. Still love it!! And KC had a fine butt....LOL
Please don’t go is one of my favorite KC & the Sunshine Band!
All those you just said are bangers!!!
... lots of hits from KC & the Sunshine Band, from Hialeah, FL.
No sound machines…all personally made music. Love it.
I really enjoy your reactions,it’s always a good time! Skinny Gis?👊😁
I absolutely wore bell bottoms in the 1970’s. They were an integral part of the experience. Us ladies would open the seam of the denim jeans from the knee down and sew in extra fabric, usually a floral print to make them extra large bells
