    Pro tip: if your doors are on and good gap BEFORE you take them off, drill a small hole through the hinge into the jamb and one through the hinge into the door. Tag that drill bit and keep it safe. When you go to put the doors back, grab that drill bit and use it to line up the holes you made. They will be back in exactly the same place. Save you a bunch of time and headaches

      HOW TO REPAINT A CAR
      1. MARK ALL DENTS, DINGS, AND CHIPS WITH A SHARPIE
      2. IF ITS A HIGH SPOT, KNOCK DOWN WITH BODY HAMMER
      3. SAND THOSE MARKED AREAS DOWN WITH 80 GRIT
      4. FILL THOSE AREAS WITH 2-PART BODY FILLER
      5. USE DA SANDER AND 80 GRIT TO KNOCK DOWN TOP LAYER OF FILLER
      6. BLOCK OUT THOSE AREAS WITH 180 GRIT IN AN “X” PATTERN
      7. NOW DA SAND THE ENTIRE CAR WITH 180 GRIT (or hand block)
      8. USE 180 GRIT BY HAND, OR MEDIUM SCOTCHBRITE TO GET SMALL AREAS
      9. WASH CAR THIROUGHLY TO RID ALL SANDING DUST
      10. DRY WELL
      11. MASK THE CAR
      12. WIPE DOWN CAR WITH WAX & GREASE REMOVER
      13. USE A TACK CLOTH TO WIPE ALL PANELS
      14. TOUCH UP BARE METAL SPOTS WITH SELF-ETCHING PRIMER
      15. SPRAY HIGH BUILD PRIMER OVER ENTIRE CAR
      16. ALLOW PRIMER TO DRY
      17. SCATTER A GUIDE COAT OVER THE PRIMER
      18. WET SAND / BLOCK OUT THE PRIMER WITH 400 GRIT
      19. FILL MINOR LOW SPOTS WITH BODY FILLER and GLAZING PUTTY
      20. REPEAT WET SANDING LOW SPOTS
      21. PRIME THE SPOTS
      22. FINAL COAT OF PRIMER
      23. FINAL WET SAND 400-600 GRIT
      24. UNMASK THE CAR
      25. WASH CAR THOROUGHLY
      26. REMASK THE CAR
      27. WIPE DOWN WITH WAX GREASE REMOVER
      28. TACK CLOTH SURFACES
      29. PAINT BASE COLOR 2-3 COATS
      30. PAINT CLEAR COAT 2-3 COATS
      31. UNMASK CAR
      32. CUT AND BUFF 1500,2000,3000 GRIT

    Hey Sprayway! Awesome video. One thing I've learned to do, fooling with these old cars (and motorcycles, and ATV's, and lawnmowers) is where there are small rusted parts, I put them in a shallow plastic pan, put EvapoRust in it just enough to submerge them, and let it sit overnight. Next morning, rinse them off good, then buff up with a magic eraser, or Scotch Bright, and they nearly always come out pristine. Perfect for priming and painting. BTW, Hello fro Huntsville!

    I have a 88 box caprice with the front fender messed up and I wanna order a new fender but the replacements don’t come with the Oem rivets in them for the chrome side panels… how your you recommend me going about this issue???

    Quick question I just bought one and I'm not sure how many you have done but I see àlot that have the short seats and the console do you know what the seats came out of I'm going n Chattanooga so it's a pick a part if they have the car but if not I definitely will order the front seats I'm almost 6"2 and having the og seats doesn't work for me
