It's so hard when people rely on you, as you know. I have put myself dead last for a good 9 months now, and it's wearing on me. I am learning I have to take a step back even when I don't want to. But I have my own health issues on the serious side and I have to be really careful about it.

I'm planning to wrap up what I'm doing for my friend next week and go back to my normal schedule. It's completely wrecked my work the past couple weeks trying to help him He's receiving appropriate care now but I think it's going to be a long haul for him. What I’ve been going through has been a blessing. I’m in process of having my cataracts removed. I got my right eye done and I can’t believe all the awesome sights. I never should have run it up, but I have had home repairs and so on to do. I've got a pretty long list of more home repairs and maintenance items to take care of that is going to be a small fortune, but getting all of that done will set me up well for a few years.

My former neighbor followed me on youtube and didn't know it was me until she came over and saw a project that had been on the channel and put it together that I was the same youtuber! It was hilarious when she figured it out. She used to come over and sew with me and I miss her so much. They might get orders to come back next year so I guess we'll see.
I just found you on UA-cam. I used to do a lot of sewing, but got sidetracked onto knitting and crocheting. I love them all. I am anxious to see what you have in store for the future. I'm missing my projects so much!! But I'm so tired at the end of the day, I can't manage it. I usually don't finish cleaning up the dinner dishes until after 9 and I'm too wiped out at that point. And I have to take photos of all the fabric I'm going to use in something BEFORE I can cut into it or start prepping it for sewing so I have that for blog posts and video b-roll. I can never just grab something and start, because of all the photos that have to be done along the way. Yeah people get really complex in their videos and I don't have the bandwidth for it. They also have help. They are not doing that on their own. For me, I would rather hire a tech editor so I can start getting my patterns published and hiring help for my pinterest marketing to get a boost to my website. That makes more sense to me than editors etc. Fancy videos are nice, but I don't think the viewers here really care all that much about that. Thank you soooo much for your input and advice!! I appreciate it so much. I really need to get in more exercise. That would be the best thing for me right now.

Hi Patti. Being real is what people want to see….not reality where everything is dictated to be a certain way. I watch because you are real. I want to say I am sorry you are facing difficult challenges right now, but I also want to say congratulations on paying your loan off. I could tell it really means a lot to you. You now have that amount to go towards other things. So congratulations on that. Sewing just for you, not even you tube, even for 15-30 minutes a day will go a long way to helping to distract you temporarily from what is stressing you right now. Thank you!! In all honestly due to my limited time, sewing just for pleasure is not something I can do now. It has to be project or tutorial oriented for the channel and the blog. When you turn your hobby into your job, it's a little bit different. I did make all those scrappy 16 patch blocks for stress relief but I also turned them into a few videos. It's a challenging season of life, so I'm focused on doing what I need to do to share content wise and I do take enjoyment in seeing those ideas come to life, for sure! I hope to be able to hire people to help me do the pattern writing so I am not buried in that part of things and can finally release patterns. I did find someone who does this but I haven't had the money to pay anyone for help. I hope that things continue to cook along so I can finally afford to pay for the help I need to get things moving. It's too much for one person to handle. If I can carve out 30 minutes, I need to use that time to exercise and do something for myself in that regard. I'm already sitting quite a lot on the computer so my goal is to get back into regular exercise again. But thank you so much for your helpful insight!

Oh thank you so very much!! It was always my mission with the channel to be who I am and not construct a fictionalized version of myself. I feel like in these times, surrounded by fake everything, I want to be that place where people can go and spend some time in what's real. It may not be the most polished or fancy or whatever, but I do believe the authenticity is the biggest merit I can off viewers at this time. It's grounding and heavens knows we need that these day.

I have learned to take compliments when people give them, but really, I'm just trying to be a good human being. My limitation is I can't spread myself out as much as I would like. But I have my own health concerns to consider and I don't want to wind up in the hospital too. It would be a disaster for 3 people and 2 households so I pray for protection multiple times daily.

I really do appreciate that and I also pray for it to be a bit easier. Mom is actually doing quite well, all things considered. But she is still pretty frail and I do have to provide all of her care. I'm glad I can do it, but wow is it tiring by the end of the day.
Patty, Eat right and stay hydrated during this time. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to do that. You are very good at speaking whether like today or about a sewing project. I hope that allows you to do minimal editing. If you want to keep making videos and keep sewing during this time, can you pick a pattern and make a series of very short videos showing your progress? They don't have to be tutorials. There are a lot of your videos we have not seen and can watch that will hopefully help you. Thanks for sharing. I am sure you, your mom, and your friend will gain prayers from it.
Thank you!! Actually, I have been doing well with healthy eating and drinking water. I'm still working on the sleep component and getting enough exercise though. I have lost a significant amount of weight in the past year by making better food choices and by cutting back so radically. Which in turn really benefits my grocery bill! LOL I stopped doing so many shorts because that can disrupt the long form videos and do some damage to this side which is longer form. This side is where I earn my money on youtube. I might make $400 from ads for a month on this side and only 26 cents from shorts. You need something that's driving millions of views and pump out 3 a day every day for them to get anywhere. And I would lose the added revenue of the in video shopping people participate in. Everything about youtube is very specific and done a particular way, or it becomes incredibly difficult to succeed against the algorithm. I'm working on ideas for simpler things to hang and show and some topics to discuss like this where we just have a chat. I have one of those coming up next week. I do appreciate your kind suggestion and input and I'll see what I can figure out. I'm looking into purchasing a much simpler video camera to use and getting a much newer phone to help also. I need to streamline the gear at this point to help me. I'm thinking it's something I can do during July in terms of changing out gear. Watching the library of videos is incredibly helpful!

My mom is in end stage kidney failure and my dad is in end stage heart disease. That’s the only way I can describe his stuff. I am very grateful to have my hubby and kids to help me when I need them though. I know what you mean about not having time to sew. It's so hard when people rely on you, as you know. I have put myself dead last for a good 9 months now, and it's wearing on me. I am learning I have to take a step back even when I don't want to. But I have my own health issues on the serious side and I have to be really careful about it.

I'm planning to wrap up what I'm doing for my friend next week and go back to my normal schedule. It's completely wrecked my work the past couple weeks trying to help him He's receiving appropriate care now but I think it's going to be a long haul for him. But I'm finishing up my primary things I need to do for him next week. I can't continue to drop my work for much longer. And I miss it!! I'm really looking forward to the next project

So happy for you that your loan has been paid off! I’ll be keeping you, your mom, and your friend in prayers. I’ve only been doing a bit of sewing here and there myself. What I’ve been going through has been a blessing. I’m in process of having my cataracts removed. I got my right eye done and I can’t believe all the awesome sights. That has been one reason I don’t get hardly anything done is because I want to sit outside and look at everything. I can’t wait until next Thursday when I get left one done. I just might have to go look at some fabric.

Thank you so much!! I'm not even sure how it got so out of hand....other than it's just gotten so expensive to live that I haven't had extra to pay the stuff down. I never should have run it up, but I have had home repairs and so on to do. I've got a pretty long list of more home repairs and maintenance items to take care of that is going to be a small fortune, but getting all of that done will set me up well for a few years.

My former neighbor followed me on youtube and didn't know it was me until she came over and saw a project that had been on the channel and put it together that I was the same youtuber! It was hilarious when she figured it out. She used to come over and sew with me and I miss her so much. They might get orders to come back next year so I guess we'll see.

When I watch your videos, it feels more like sitting down with a friend with a cuppa for a good visit. Thank you for that. Notes to keep your thoughts linear are an entirely different thing than the full storyboards that I've seen some content creators use. Sending you hugs. 🤗 I hope that you can get some sewing therapy in soon. I know from experience how much that helps both with stress levels and mental health in general.
I'm missing my projects so much!! But I'm so tired at the end of the day, I can't manage it. I usually don't finish cleaning up the dinner dishes until after 9 and I'm too wiped out at that point. And I have to take photos of all the fabric I'm going to use in something BEFORE I can cut into it or start prepping it for sewing so I have that for blog posts and video b-roll. I can never just grab something and start, because of all the photos that have to be done along the way. Yeah people get really complex in their videos and I don't have the bandwidth for it. They also have help. They are not doing that on their own. For me, I would rather hire a tech editor so I can start getting my patterns published and hiring help for my pinterest marketing to get a boost to my website. That makes more sense to me than editors etc. Fancy videos are nice, but I don't think the viewers here really care all that much about that. Thank you soooo much for your input and advice!! I appreciate it so much. I really need to get in more exercise. That would be the best thing for me right now.

Hi Patti. Being real is what people want to see….not reality where everything is dictated to be a certain way. I watch because you are real. I want to say I am sorry you are facing difficult challenges right now, but I also want to say congratulations on paying your loan off. I could tell it really means a lot to you. You now have that amount to go towards other things. So congratulations on that. Sewing just for you, not even you tube, even for 15-30 minutes a day will go a long way to helping to distract you temporarily from what is stressing you right now. Thank you!! In all honestly due to my limited time, sewing just for pleasure is not something I can do now. It has to be project or tutorial oriented for the channel and the blog. When you turn your hobby into your job, it's a little bit different. I did make all those scrappy 16 patch blocks for stress relief but I also turned them into a few videos. It's a challenging season of life, so I'm focused on doing what I need to do to share content wise and I do take enjoyment in seeing those ideas come to life, for sure! I hope to be able to hire people to help me do the pattern writing so I am not buried in that part of things and can finally release patterns. I did find someone who does this but I haven't had the money to pay anyone for help. I hope that things continue to cook along so I can finally afford to pay for the help I need to get things moving. It's too much for one person to handle. If I can carve out 30 minutes, I need to use that time to exercise and do something for myself in that regard. I'm already sitting quite a lot on the computer so my goal is to get back into regular exercise again. But thank you so much for your helpful insight!

Oh thank you so very much!! It was always my mission with the channel to be who I am and not construct a fictionalized version of myself. I feel like in these times, surrounded by fake everything, I want to be that place where people can go and spend some time in what's real. It may not be the most polished or fancy or whatever, but I do believe the authenticity is the biggest merit I can off viewers at this time. It's grounding and heavens knows we need that these day.
Your positive outlook and determination are inspiration for all of us, with sewing and life in general. I really do appreciate that and I also pray for it to be a bit easier. Mom is actually doing quite well, all things considered. But she is still pretty frail and I do have to provide all of her care. I'm glad I can do it, but wow is it tiring by the end of the day.

Eat right and stay hydrated during this time. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to do that.
You are very good at speaking whether like today or about a sewing project. I hope that allows you to do minimal editing. If you want to keep making videos and keep sewing during this time, can you pick a pattern and make a series of very short videos showing your progress? They don't have to be tutorials.
There are a lot of your videos we have not seen and can watch that will hopefully help you.

Thank you!! Actually, I have been doing well with healthy eating and drinking water. I'm still working on the sleep component and getting enough exercise though. I have lost a significant amount of weight in the past year by making better food choices and by cutting back so radically. Which in turn really benefits my grocery bill! LOL I stopped doing so many shorts because that can disrupt the long form videos and do some damage to this side which is longer form. This side is where I earn my money on youtube. I might make $400 from ads for a month on this side and only 26 cents from shorts. You need something that's driving millions of views and pump out 3 a day every day for them to get anywhere. And I would lose the added revenue of the in video shopping people participate in. Everything about youtube is very specific and done a particular way, or it becomes incredibly difficult to succeed against the algorithm. I'm working on ideas for simpler things to hang and show and some topics to discuss like this where we just have a chat. I have one of those coming up next week. I do appreciate your kind suggestion and input and I'll see what I can figure out. I'm looking into purchasing a much simpler video camera to use and getting a much newer phone to help also. I need to streamline the gear at this point to help me. I'm thinking it's something I can do during July in terms of changing out gear. Watching the library of videos is incredibly helpful!

Thank you Susan! I'm so tired. It's a lot and I'm doing dinner dishes at 10pm most nights. I have to figure out a better routine, but it's hard when I'm the only one here. It all falls on me and sometimes it's over whelming. But I had a great visit with our Chaplain yesterday and he really lifted me. I could talk to him all day.

That is exactly my approach and I'm happy to hear it conveys that way across the air waves! Actually, I'm not taking care of myself at all right now, and I'm feeling it. I did finally get to do my favorite exercise video this morning and that always feels great, but over all, I'ver really neglected myself. I can't keep going like this long term. I am hoping I can finish up some paperwork next week and then I can take a huge step back and start doing for me again.

Hello, Patty. You are in a hard season with caring for loved ones. I’m sure this isn’t your first time. It is hard to see our beloved parent decline or become seriously ill. Same with beloved friends. It is tough, exhausting, and an emotional rollercoaster, but we wouldn’t be anywhere else. I’m sending prayers for strength and comfort.
