Man after I've played this I quit NBA Live series for good :) The best B-Ball game on N64, the gameplay, the graphics, look at the players' faces how nicely done they all are which is incredible for N64 graphics, You exactly know who is who, then, there are cool commentators: this game is in refrigerator, the doors are closed the lights are out the eggs are coolin' the butter's gettin' hard the jellow is jigglin' :), The free throws are realistic, each player had his own moves, you could even manage the team and there was even a game mode similar to NBA JAM, you could do the 3 points line dunk. This game had it all. I loved Vince Carter's (Raptors) slam dunks and I had a great time with Mike Bibby (Grizzlies) who was making the half court shots like mad and it wasn't Arcade Mode :). I still kick ass playing this game every day
Yep, I got this game on Christmas '99 because I still didn't have a Dreamcast yet, and this game definitely gave NBA2K a run for its money, this was a massive step up from the original game. This came out just when developers were finally learning how give sprites facial expressions on the Nintendo 64. Left Field Studios did a tremendous job on this game. The commentary from the Lakers announcers was way ahead of what you would see in previous games as well. I'm glad they got Chick Hearn to do this while he was still around. Man, it's still just unreal that Kobe Bryant is not alive anymore. Still doesn't seem real almost a year later.
@@TRJ2241987 I agree with that 100% Really wish this game would get more recognition for how ahead of it's time it was. Maybe the fact it was a basketball game on the N64? I play 2k to this day on my Switch and a lot of people think it's just a joke 😝 But yes, R.I.P Kobe 🙏🏼
This is literally the most recent NBA Game i have Played. Lol i loved the hell out of this Game, the announcer was always saying "Aiiirrrrr Baalllllll!!!! Maybe he needs Glasses" so classic and i loved doing the free throw thing around he circle
When it comes to Basketball on N64, give me Courtside and Jam. As for College Hoops, Showtime, Hangtime, and Live, only the multiplayer modes win in those games IMO. I know that some players enjoy Hangtime and Showtime but it's so difficult trying to steal the ball with such loose action in those games. When it comes to NBA Live, I would simply stick with the 95 thru 98. Also, my favorite team is the Charlotte Hornets.
Eden tification I was always a fan of NBA Showtime (NBA on NBC). It was much more in the spirit of the old NBA Jam games, less realistic than this, more of an arcade feel. But that game was super quirky, weird, and a lot of fun with multiplayer
R0b1zzle137 Cool man, cheers. I haven't played Showtime. Less realistic, "quirky" sounds like Hangtime on the 64, which I love. And i love NBA Jam, so I'll have to check it out!
4-Ever KOBE ❤️
Miss him...
So nostalgic! Played this game so much as a kid and loved how you can get extra points from those spots! So fun

I swear this basketball game had a feature where you could dunk from like far away

I loved this game, the best career player mode. Hated how it made you do that jump shot under the hoop if you didn't time the button right.
😂😂 I fully remember this
The problem with their offense is that their shooting percentage is low… thanks Stu for the incisive commentary…
i'll always remember the way players were rated 2 point and 3 point Shaq was literally unstoppable anywhere inside the arc.
This is one of those games that when I was a kid, looked like and even felt like modern day 2k, maybe better.
😂 this commentary for the game had me dying
LOL The Commentary Killed Me Some Of The Funniest Commentary I Have Ever Heard
Glen Rice was a monster in this game
I miss tf outta this game!
Rip Kobe
Arcade mode was fun
I never realized there was a part 2.

RIP. Cobe Bryant

0:17 That menu music slaps hard
Playing this STILL in 2024 with Brawler '64
Whats with the water metaphors?
3:16 "Couldnt hit water if they fell out of a boat."
6:34 "A grape in the ocean"
I use to go soooooo crazy on this game bro omg
I remember Tony Delk in this game. This nigga dropped 42 on me in a fucking playoff game. SMH.
Tim Duncan had 52 points 7 blocks 2 assists and I still beat the spurs lol 126 to 99
The red white and blue ball I’ll never figure out why
RIP CHICK AND KOBE
The Grizzlies!!? Lmfao you know this old when they're still a team in the NBA haha
The Grizzlies have always been the Grizzlies....
@@therealmvp1024 Here They Were Known As The Vancouver Grizzlies
