I'm now of the mindset that if i can make myself miserably uncomfortable then I'm doing good in a session. This here, is an awesome routine Simon. Good to see you out in the park! Salute bro!

Exactly my way of thinking brother
That is exactly what I meant with "moments of intensity" which are needed in your workout
      Thank you Paul!

@@SimonTrageserYikes! I just did this workout replacing the two type of burpees with 10 Navy Seals. Man! That was though! I underestimated the strain on my arms from going straight from pull ups to NS. Anyway, that made for a great training session 💪

@@jpwyrm wow, I can imagine the upgrade this little change with the navy seals instead of the 2 pumps / 1 pumps has brought!!
You are on fire with your navy seal challenge JP, fantastic

Funny you should mention that Simon about not always chasing the next PR. I am still losing weight to just under 110KG but am slowing down. The reason why I am slowing down is to guard against diminishing returns and burnout. Regardless of how heavy we are or whether we do push ups in our burpess or not, such high volume calisthenics esp. burpees takes its toll on the joints, and long term it can have a negative compound effect where our bodies will burn out before we are 50 or 60 or even less. I began with 4 count burpees and have achieved 100 consecutive 1 pump burpees and 6 count burpees (split the legs apart). I have increased the intensity by holding a small brick (less than a kilo) in each hand and you feel the difference after 50 burpees. I could easily accelerate within a month to my original goal of 500 consecutive burpees, but feel that would not be wise. Basically, psychologically once we achieved such a high goal within a small amount of time we lose the appreciation and value of the accomplishment and fail to glean the actual benefits and it just becomes another fad or trophy. The lifestyle aspect which we institute into our lives and minds is (as I am now beginning to learn) really important and beautiful if we can see it and take the time and allow ourselves to work it into effect. The character mental development of leaning to grind and push and the discipline to stick with a physically hard task which then becomes easy sees us and our character climb mountains and achieve so much rewards in our journey if we take it slow. I think there could be a risk to fast successs which is why I am slowing down. So what I do now is reduce and integrate. 100 jumping jacks, 100 burpees (add intensity and variations on alternating days) and 100 squats followed by whatever upper body work I feel like. I am to heavy and weak now to do pull ups by I do a modified towel pull ups in the shed with my legs supported for my back/biceps, so for us heavy guys who cant do pull ups there is no excuse! This new routine (maintenance mode) is psychologically so easy but adds more duration on the body. I plan to try your latest run and burpee routine for 1.3 K very soon. So what you mention my brother is not only interesting but very relevant to where I am at in my journey and I am guessing others are as well. So its not like you are only giving inspiration to work out, but I believe you are also prescribing correct perspective on what matters to other youtubers on the journey watching your videos (not blowing smoke up your ass either). I suspect many people are so inspired by the high volumes of other big players that fail to take into perspective the long term game and the meaning of the day to day journey. Sorry for the long comment brother, but thank you so much for the mature outlook you provide which other people may lack because of gainz ambition hehe. Cheers!

As always deeply appreciative of your comment Saun!
      How are you doing Brother?
It is just a fact that there is no fast lane and everybody is moving and working on certain things in a certain pace. As long as you can push the needle forward from session to session you are on the right track in my opinion.
You are doing everything right as you are doing it at the moment man
As for the pull ups: did you already try using an elastic band for support?
Thank you and have a good weekend my friend!
