Government, The heavy hand, it weighs us down,
Freedom's voice, with barely a sound.
Rules are so strict, A slap in the face,
To dream or laugh, we say grace.
Cameras watch, a watchful eye,
No secrets kept beneath the sky.
Whispers shared in fear and dread,
Of punishment if words are said.
But hope still burns a fire in the night,
A yearning deep within the late moonlight.
For freedom's light to pierce the night,
And fill our world with rules of rights.
We'll find a way, with hearts beating strong,
To sing a truth that rights their wrongs.
Together quietly, our resolve will rise,
Justice for all, and no more lies.
Though shadows linger, in the dark they creep,
The seeds of change, we gently keep.
In acts of kindness, small and true,
We build a better world for me and you.
The heavy hand may try to hold,
Together we all stand strong and bold
We'll break on through, strong and free,
A land united, finally for you and me
