    I’m a licensed Master Esthetician in Utah. (13 years experience.) I’ve worked in Day Spa’s, a dermatologists office, as an instructor and laser instructor. I currently work in a Med Spa. There are SOOOO many options as an esthetician!

      Right ? What position has been your favorite thus far ? I totally could see myself working in a more medical facility in the future.

    • @janis84770

      Instructing was actually my favorite! But I still loved working in the day spa because of the calmer vibe. I do love working in the Med Spa because I am doing a lot of microneedling and laser treatments that are making BIG differences in my clients skin.

    I'm getting ready to start esthetics school in a matter of days, six days to be exact. I love the way you explain things, and plan to take my exfoliation more seriously moving forward. I am 56, and have been told I look younger, probably due to never leaving the house without sunscreen, being fair haired, and skin. I have very sensitive skin, and I'm leery of most over the counter exfoliants, therefore need to research which kind would be safest. Thanks for all of the information!

    Your video was very informative, thank you!! I’m looking to go to Esthetician school however I don’t know if it’s the right fit for me. I’m not the type doing my makeup every day or not even that often at all. I went to school for nursing but found that it wasn’t the right for for me. I like the aspect of esti school because it still has a medical background and skin is one of the most important organs of the human body. I don’t want to spend all the money and not fall in love with it. Is there any ways you suggest on getting your foot in the door with it, without going to school for thousand of dollars first? Just a girl trying to find out if it’s the right path for herself! Love your videos!

    Hi Michelle ❤ I am soooo excited for you and can feel your excitement right thru the screen girl !!!!! Getting thru school with that kind of dedication, takes work. To do it as a mother....WOW....that's even harder to do. Not only did you accomplish this for yourself, but you've taught your children some valuable life lessons that they are picking up by watching your dedication, time management, follow through and they payoff at the end of each journey.
    I'm looking forward to more videos covering some specific topics. Your excitement is contagious...and I'm excited to learn more !!!! Have a happy and blessed week sweet girl ~Hugsssss ❤❤❤❤

      Oh I know your children are picking up on what you're doing...even if they don't realize it. I was still picking up some valuable life skills in my 40's from my dad in his 70's as he was having to cope with some of the worse curve balls life can throw at you. He had cancer again and was going blind. Seeing how he coped with it and figured out what the next steps were he needed to take, blew me away. * It's wonderful to see you looking so happy ❤

    Congratulations on getting your license on going back in the New Year going back for the Costo already am license as a manicurist 28 1/2 years and I just lost my passion for it with the nails but I definitely want to get back into it just for the thrill of it I would like to know have you ever thought about going back to become an instructor I normally ask people once they put their UA-cam video if they've thought about going back and in doing a survey I find a vast majority is not interested in getting their instructors license which would be a better attribute on the basis of its going to allow you to accomplish so much because now you can teach it you can be in a community college you can go in a private college you can offer private lessons it's just a world of wonderful doors and it doesn't take nearly as long you can be done with school in a matter of 30 to a Max of 60 days tops I think you would be great at it I love your energy is rocking it's fun and it's Carefree never lose the beautiful quality of that so many times your work around so many people that are so negative and spiteful and miserable that they always want to drain your energy and many times in the Spas you'll see that but when you have your instructors license you know you can bypass a lot of that thank you for doing this video please let us know the pros and cons now that you've became esthetician and in the same video I like to know what are some of your favorite products to use on sensitive skin dry skin and oily skin and mature skin finally I do want to know if you're going to further it as a final pointer if you're not going to go back and get your instructors license I was suggested you also combine it with electrolysis so therefore you can do two things up under one license and have two separate license which is beautiful have a great and prosperous Thanksgiving happy early Christmas to you be blessed😎😎😎🤑🤑🤑✳️❇️🐨‼️💯🐯🐅🐘🕊️🦃💆🏼💆💆🏻🕊️🐘🐅🦃🐯🦃🐘🕊️🐯💯

    Hi! I’m currently debating if I want to enroll in an esthetician program or cosmology program. The school I’m interested in told me I can do esthetician work with a cosmology license. I ultimately want to do nails and skin so I was going to do two programs (nail tech and esthetician). Can I have some insight please? Did you complete an esthetician program only? If so, did they teach you everything that you offer in your salon, or did you have to take additional courses to become certified in certain specialties?
    I’m worried that with a cosmology program I won’t leave with the same knowledge and understanding as I would if I enroll in the esthetician program. They said cosmology license holds more weight, is that true?

    • @MichelleRother
      @MichelleRother  3 роки тому +1

      Ok so I totally understand you. I completed an esthetics program only. I was taught only skin stuff. Nail tech school, same idea, all things nails. Cosmetology school breezes on the surface of both those topics and mainly focuses on hair. Like you’ll get two week of skin, two weeks of nails and the rest is hair. If you’re looking to be a professional in the skin and nail space I would go to the individual specialized schools, one at a time. So you don’t get over whelmed but you can also start working after you get your first license to build clientele, pay off school etc. keep in mind some spas won’t hire someone with a cosmo license for an Esti position because they don’t have enough education for the role.

      @sylviam1196 3 роки тому

      @@MichelleRother this is exactly how I was looking at it. However, the admin at the school was trying to tell me I’ll be able to do everything with a cosmology license. I really appreciate your input!!
      I’ve decided to get my cosmology license because, my three daughters and I can benefit from it. After I’m going to go back to school for my esthetician license. I’ve spoken to quite a few nail techs and they have all gone back to school to obtain their cosmology license after being a licensed nail tech.

    Thanks so much! 💓

    Do you happen to know anyone out here?

    • @MichelleRother
      @MichelleRother  5 років тому

      I don’t know anyone there but keep searching and asking local hair stylist / nail techs for recommendations. I personally don’t need toner all her my body so I would find that to be a waste. Toner rebalances the ph of the skin. If your using ph balance cleansers and body wash you won’t need a toner. Now if it’s a treatment toner / tonic for a skin issue ie: keratosis pilaris (sp?) then I would use it strictly on the areas that need it.
