It would be really cool to see a direct side-by-side comparison between the new XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 (Gen 2) and the Cintiq you have. Many artists are recommending the new 16" XP-Pen, so it would be incredible to have a direct comparison of it with the Wacom, which is still the main market reference for artists.
Nice to see you give a lived-in review of this tablet, guys! I've been using an XP-Pen Artist 22 for the past two years, upgraded from a Wacom Intuos4 (4x6"), and still loving it. The pens that shipped with my XP-Pen tablet seem to be of a thicker variety than what you've been using, actually comparable to my Intuos pen. XP-Pen's customer service is also pretty good; when the screen died on the first tablet (had to have been only a couple of months into ownership), they had me send the faulty tablet back and they quickly shipped me a new one, free of charge and hassle. My only criticism, considering the price gulf between this and a comparably-sized Cintiq, is the OSD menu seems unfinished, and could probably use another navigation button. Overall, I'm satisfied for just under $500.
I was looking for a second monitor to improve my experience with my hobby (I make scenes in DAZ Studio and am in and out of Blender and an image editor very often). I happened to see this video as I am subscribed to your channel and thought - great idea: a pen display as a second monitor. 21.5 inches is a reasonable size so I bought the XP-Pen 22 (Second Generation) and I'm now waiting for delivery. Thank you for your honest review. Maybe you could do a video on if and how a pen can be used in DAZ Studio?
My biggest concern with any of these is durability. Even normal monitors can sometimes just die within a couple years, and they're so much cheaper in comparison. As someone without any tablet but looking to buy, I'm thinking I will start with a normal non-screen tablet and hopefully it'll be satisfying to use without wishing I had just spent more on one of these.
I think a non screen tablet is definitely the best place to start. It allows you to try it out in a much more adorable way. I can't speak to the long term durability of this yet, unfortunately.
can you add some rubber stuff ( elastikker . . or, so the pen is bigger or, maybe order a different pen, that also works, I hear cost is 20 - 30 dollars :OO . .
I am planning to buy one just not sure if it is properly compatible with substance painter, I have read few threads where users have faced issues with xp pen and substance painter only, it worked perfectly with other software for them. Is it possible if you can test that? Thanks.
I use Wacom and hate how thick it is, makes me feel like a kid with a magic marker. I still have no clue why they started that fab, why not draw with a log. (not easer to grip, also can't draw at the same angles)
the drawing angles are key. its so hard to sketch if you have a stronger traditional bg no one mentions that

Hello, thanks for the vid! I bought this Display also, but I am having a slight lag with it. If i want to do a brush stroke or even just a simple click anywhere with it, there is a slight delay, which makes working quite hard sometimes. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks!
I went from the Wacom Pro pen 2 to the 3D version. Its a little thinner and found it much better. I dont think I could go back to only 2 buttons. For sculpting in Zbrush I dont tend use pressure. Seems a good price its $680AU here in Australia.
Working on Kamvas 22+ I never notice any pixels. Maybe having 4K would somehow make image a bit sharper (especially for photo or video editing), but for 3D work it’s totally fine.
Super late to the party but I spend 8-12 hours a day working on a 32 inch curved display. I wouldn’t have it any other way. For video editing and working in 3D it’s very immersive and makes work feel more “videogame-y.”

@@mikemiles1365 with the 3D mouse you can always use a natural stroke because you can always adjust the mesh quickly. It also save a lot of hand movements and key pressing as you move the mesh.
I’m surprised they sent you a 22. The 24 is kinda their flagship right now. I love mine, and I think the pen is a little better too. They just released a new driver with more combos (keys and pen clicks, for example.) and so far I’m loving it.

Can you use the other tablet pens?

For me, this is definitely a good choice. Especially for the money
The older XP Pen 22 has the fatter Wacom style pen. I agree, it is a bit more comfortable.
I've been looking for good tutorials on tablets/pens for scluption and paint. This is a wonderful review and enjoyable to watch, thanks again.
Would love to see this series continue.
Any chance you guys could review any of the large tablets from Huion?
Let's do a comparison between Huion and XP-Pen :)
Yeah device reviews are always nice to see :)
I'm using an Ergotron with my Huion 22+. Works great for changing positions throughout the day.
Will definitely look into that 👌
I have the same setup, can’t recommend it enough, very comfortable.
thx for the tip
Xp pen is just an amazing brand, and the prices of the tablets are way better than wacom
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better!
I'd love a comparison video, Im between the xp pen and huion on which I want. Based on your reviews it seems the xp pen has a bit more parallax ?
Cool :)
Yeah more parallax in this i think, but I've gotten used to it now. So I wouldn't say it detracts from its value
Awesome. What pc monitors would you recommend?
I have the Deco Pro Medium and am satisfied, but had to revert to older versions of Painter and PS due to a Windows Ink issue.

Works the XP-Pen Artist ** Pro with a Surface Book 2?

Too much lag on the cursor on all display tablets. When they fix that I'll get one.
