  • Shocking footage from 7am yesterday morning reveals the extent of the destruction moments after the crash outside the hotel near the Lakeside shopping centre in Doncaster. It is believed that the driver lost control of his vehicle at a roundabout before hurtling through a hedge and bulldozing into at least 17 parked cars in the car park. Footage shows the crushed maimed cars littered across the car park before focusing on a large lorry with severe damage. A trail of destruction is left behind by the lorry and flashing lights from recovery vehicles can be seen flashing throughout the car park. Bumpers and licence plates are seen hanging off cars and smashed glass from windows is strewn across the ground.

Looked like bad parking at the start... Then you see the carnage, hopefully nobody hurt.

This is a wicked & evil act of desecration & destruction that should never have happened A new offence of " Causing damage by dangerous driving" should be created without delay This is a criminal act of gross negligence that should not go unpunished the company responsible for the vehicle is as much to blame as the driver as transport companies have a ststutory duty to ensure the safety of the public & should be punished for this offence. Also the planning authorities are to blame for not ensuring these places are designed properly with adequate fit for purpose barriers capable of stopping runaway HGVs dead in their tracks. ALL car parks close to main roads should be required by law to have adequate anti collision defences to prevent this kind of carnage as bad design is as much to blame for this disaster. In the wake of this disaster adequate safety barriers must be installed at this location to ensure it can never happen again.

So everyone & their mother's to blame for this "accident"
Get back under your rock & just hope no one crashes into it, else that'll be your fault. Smh

If this is the case most honest drivers would on feeling the warning signs pull over on the hard shoulder & call 999 for a medical emergency. The authorities would rather be dealing with a roadside medical emergency than the resulting carnage caused by failing to act in time.also someone should have intervened to bring the vehicle safely to a stop as has happened in other similar incidents.

@@bryanmccann5778 the only problem with that statement is you can see mcdonalds behind the trailer and the bush beside the trailer that it drove though indicating that the lorry was traveling towards the roundabout not traversing the roundabout
