I've purchased 2 sets of Eufy camera kits based on your reviews. The eufy security eufyCam 3C 4-Cam Kit, Security Camera Outdoor Wireless, 4K Camera, with the accompanying solar panels. Overall Ive been happy with the cameras. However, I have to point out that out of each set, I now have one camera from each, that is not updating and not working. When I contacted Eufy for support, I was told that the cameras are made by different manufacturers and there is a discrepancy in the quality of the cameras. I think this is an issue you should check into
They should be able to add animal detection pretty easily I would imagine with a firmware update. Definitely agree that having the 4g as a backup option to wifi would be excellent.
It can be had with home base3 my assumption that is they don't have it directly on the camera solo because they probably just want you to buy the home base 3.
You're reviews are so good, quick and to the point. As a thought, why don't they produce color night cameras from here on forward and stop producing gray scale night mode as I would presume current day black and white cameras are becoming obsolete such as hollywood silent movies. Hmm

I have to agree, eufy should definitely connect to the 4g network whenever it loses connection to my wifi router. The night vision is decent, but I just prefer the color night vision like my wyze cam. Overall, this camera is definitely good pick.

I noticed you did not explain, if you set this camera up using the 4G. Will the camera back up on the home base or will you have the memory card. I believe the SIM card would be a better use for my issue because it's an outside camera. In my area a lot of people have been using the WiFi jammers. We have been informed that this does not affect your cameras if you have a SIM card in it.. but I do have a lot of eufy cameras . And I would consider using the home base with this camera. So the camera only works with the home base if it's Wi-Fi only it does not work with the home base with the SIM card. Can you clarify that for me.
After seeing the video quality, I see zero compelling reason to upgrade to this from the S340 that I currently have which has got the 3K lens and the telephoto 2K lens. And still 15fps.

can you record continuously, or is it once motion detected and once motion detected how long does it record for/ i know certain camera will stop after one or two minutes
Not with battery or solar powered cameras. Motion events only. In the power manager setting, you can have the camera decide how long in will record depending on the motion.. it will stop when it senses the motion has stopped or can set it manually to record up to 2 minutes.
No animal detection?? OK, thank you. I'd never buy this one. I have 8 other Eufy indoor and outdoor cams, can't believe they removed the animal detection on a most expensive Eufy cam.
They should start implementing an AI feature that recognizes first person entering the shot then follow up with the 2nd person goinh in opposite direction (for 3-4 seconds) than quickly go back on the 1st one. I don't know how that might serve tho.
Nope. It records when it senses motion. If that motion will stand still for a bit, then it will stop recording even if it is in the front of the camera. Unless that person moves and doesn’t stop for an hour..most like you will get short clips. Now if you want it to record an hour or 24/7, you have to look for wired or plugged in cameras and not battery powered ones.
@@LifeHackster reolink is better than you can record motion continuously on sd card, there is an option on that thanks this defeats the purpose, it it stops after one minute or so and there is activity still going on after say one minute or two then it is useless
Eufy has NO multi camera play even through app. They made it so you can only multi stream through a web portal BUT you can only access the view with a 1 time code through the app and access expires after 24 hrs requiring you to get another code ans start over
Can we change where we do the testing to make it more real life scenario. You should test in the front yard. Ideally you're worried about someone coming up to your house and then leaving by car. Shooting in the back doesn't really show if the camera has potential to capture important moments
My backyard is my testing ground for the cameras because it is the closest area I can get to be constant and doesn’t change a lot so that you can easily compare the performance of any camera even if I don’t have a direct comparison video. As to your question about if a person came in and left in a vehicle. As long as you set both person and vehicle detection to ON, then you will get a footage.
This is a very solid suggestion to reflect real-world performance testing. I bought two Solocam S340 and HB3 after LH's review, installed them in front of the house, under eaves 3 meters high, then paired with HB3. Hoping to capture vehicles going and coming onto the driveway, also people walking on the front lawn. Oh boy, what a disappointment as they miss lots of events 50% of the time. Even miss recording me mowing the lawn. It's been more than 2 months now and still not happy with these cameras. Solar panel performs well or maybe because the cameras are not working well enough to consume battery. The cameras have updated already with 2 rounds of firmwares but motion detection performance is still below average. It is a let down big time by Eufy and now I am contemplating to bin the cameras and go back to Arlo.
I was about to say this is amazing... then saw the video quality =( Disappointing 4k. Looked like720p. they get the video quality to true 4k and 30fps its a winner
My eufy s330 4g 4k ptz camera like that one video quality is Much better. I'm guessing it looks like it lost some resolution from uploading it to u UA-cam
Nothing replaces a wide field of view. There was a camera that had a wide and telephoto camera that tracked and that is probably the best solution but in most cases I'll take a wide field of view and a 2k or 4k resolution with a decent bitrate over a narrow field of view with tracking. The Arlo Ultra still sits on my house with its 180degree FOV and good enough bitrate, Homekit integration, Apple TV Activity Notification, etc. Yes this is a 4G Solar, and if you need that its probably as good as you can reasonably expect. I just hate Eufy's lack of support for their products. Once you buy their product, they are on to the next product and good luck getting any bug fixes. My S40 cameras still think my German Shepherd Dog is a Person everytime it sees it. From day one, Person only notifications were never working and still aren't.
It’s really a shame eufy is making such good hardware just to wall it into their own ecosystem. If they’d allow RTSP on more of their devices so I could save the recordings to my NAS it’d probably be the only cameras I’d buy.
Me and my brother got this camera for our moms mother's day present thats coming up. so she can put it with her other eufy 4g lte camera thats at her summer vacation property that she is currently renovating so this camera is perfect for her. But I never knew how to pronounce or say e i o t club I always just called it idiot club lol
Hi, what camera would you recommend that would detect objects as far as 20 meters and will work from batteries + solar +LTE? What is the best pick in your opinion? Thanks Cheers
Battery powered cameras uses a PIR sensor for motion detection which has a limited range of 20-30 feet for person detection. Wired or plugged in security cameras are your only option if you want it to detect as far a 20 meters.

Eufy has NO multi camera play even through app. They made it so you can only multi stream through a web portal BUT you can only access the view with a 1 time code through the app and access expires after 24 hrs requiring you to get another code ans start over
Does anyone else find that if you have night vision on colour and turn off spotlight at night the infrared doesn’t activate just stays black /dark ?
Note: this camera has an IP55 rating.
I recommend upgrading the cheap and Slow kingston 32gb sd card" I put a Sandisk Extreme v30 128gb SD card" Runs much better and Faster!"
I was about to say this is amazing... then saw the video quality =( Disappointing 4k. Looked like720p.
they get the video quality to true 4k and 30fps its a winner
My eufy s330 4g 4k ptz camera like that one video quality is Much better. I'm guessing it looks like it lost some resolution from uploading it to u
UA-cam
I agree. I liked the recently released Duo 3 because of its 180 FOV.
It’s really a shame eufy is making such good hardware just to wall it into their own ecosystem. If they’d allow RTSP on more of their devices so I could save the recordings to my NAS it’d probably be the only cameras I’d buy.

THE PRICE HAhAHAHAHHAHA
Junkie as evry other on could be installed.
Could you do ring vs Vivint outdoor and indoor please
@lifehackster does it have continues recording while plugged in?
Me and my brother got this camera for our moms mother's day present thats coming up. so she can put it with her other eufy 4g lte camera thats at her summer vacation property that she is currently renovating so this camera is perfect for her. But I never knew how to pronounce or say e i o t club I always just called it idiot club lol
optimal position for this tracking camera would be at the corner of this roof
Hi, what camera would you recommend that would detect objects as far as 20 meters and will work from batteries + solar +LTE? What is the best pick in your opinion? Thanks
Cheers
Battery powered cameras uses a PIR sensor for motion detection which has a limited range of 20-30 feet for person detection. Wired or plugged in security cameras are your only option if you want it to detect as far a 20 meters.
@@LifeHackster then what is the best option for wired camera that also have LTE? Thanks
@@LT.tapeheads.service all LTE cameras are battery powered.
@@LifeHackster hello will other countries sim cards work or only the one they sent ?
@@LifeHackster I'm from Africa and all sims here are 5G networks already so will this camera work ?
Can it be used indoor? Can you plug in wall power outlet instead of charging it through solar?
