- Took a quick trip to the Pest and Lawn Ginja's place to pick up a Toro Greensmaster 1600 mower. I think it's going to make mowing my front yard more enjoyable. Had a lot of fun hanging out with the Ginja.

Understanding that you've only had the reel for a short period, aside from having the physical aspect, do you feel the cut quality is worth the expense (cost of machine, ongoing cost of maintenance, and the constant adjusting of all the moving parts) in comparison to the SunJoe?
Again, I'm very aware that the GreensMaster is an excellent machine, but the SunJoe is much less of a pain in the rear.
I'm just killing time, Jimmy. Seems we all have a ton of that these days.
Hey Jay. Great questions. My initial thoughts are these - the SunJoe was a relatively inexpensive step to further gauge my interest in reel mowing, which it confirmed pretty quick. I also learned pretty quick that the SunJoe isn't all that well built. I experienced issues with pieces falling off very early on among other things. The grass catcher is a pain as well. And I didn't like pushing it haha. Yes the GM needs more attention than a standard mower, but I look forward to all the positives that come as well. Should be a fun season. More thoughts to come over time 🙂
Jimmy, I've been on the hunt for almost a year, but I haven't found the right one at the right price. Seems the folks in Texas are aware of the increased interest in reel mowers, so they're a bit ridiculous with pricing. I may have to start looking at nearby states i can drive to for pick up.

Look around hard enough and you’ll find a deal. I paid $1,000. Included sharpened reel and bed knife.
Can you slow down the walking speed by having the idle speed lower?
Yeah you can throttle it down. I should've taken the transport wheels off when I moved it around his yard. That slows it down as well.
