- The U.S. honors its veterans every year on November 11th. Canada and the other nations of the Commonwealth observe a different but similar holiday: Remembrance Day. “The intent behind Remembrance Day is not to glorify war. It's to reflect upon those who paid the ultimate sacrifice,” Major Rick Cameron, the Deputy Military Advisor at Canada’s Mission to the UN, told InsideEdition.com. “We need to remember what happened in the past, so we don't revert to those ways in the future,” he said. #InsideEdition

In the 11th of November, Indonesia has a thing similar to the remembrance day in the US. It's called "hari pahlawan" this day is to remember the people that fought for Indonesia's independence
In primary school in Australia,well at least in nsw,soldiers would come and read out stuff,one of the things they would always read out was in Flanders fields.

I'm Canadian but do thank the Lord for every nation that fought in various wars; - as allies. Nobody WINS when it comes to wars. It's so very sad. So many lots live as well as severely woned and also when home; post-traumatic stress syndrome; visualizing and dreaming about the terrible things that take place in war. Why oh why can't mankind look at their own country and how vast their land is( or not) and just not invade other countries; bombing. missiles now, grenades, bullets, and even poisonous gas! LEST WE FORGET; ... ask: is this earth not large enough for mankind to share?

I always wanted to meet a WWII vet. Now its probably too late. They were so brave. My crossing guard when i was a kid landed on Normandy beach but the war had ended, he didnt see any action. RIP to those who passed and fought so bravely for our country.

On the 11th hour of 11th day of 11th Month in 1918 the Guns fell silent on the western front in Europe.
World War One is a really weird war in terms of the “bad guys”. Except for Germany doing that bad stuff in Belgium, they’re really weren’t any bad guys. They were just men fighting for there country’s for what they thought was right. We should we remember them all as they had to suffer eternal rest to early. We should also remember the wounded, who came home mangled physically and emotionally, and a shell of their formal self. And finally we should remember all men who fought in The Great War, who fought to preserve they’re country’s ideals. Lest we forget they’re sacrifices in World War One and remember those who never came back.

There was no "good guys" or "bad guys" in this war, Every nation had something to gain and lose from the war. In the end it was the brave soldiers who fought for the future of their nation who paid the price.

@Ryan Gagnon I definitely get what your talking about. But who even mentioned gays? Its unfair that LGBT get a while month. It should just be acceptance month to accept people's religions and beliefs not pride month. Pride is a sin as the bible states. They died trying to take other lives so that's one thing bad. We should still honor them for trying to help our country though.
