- ‘Letters Home’ is a short film which tells the story of Tom, a sailor from the Royal Navy 63rd Division, writing his letter home. It’s a personal account on the front line, where a letter home is sent in case the imaginable happens.

Tugs the heartstrings for sure, a fitting tribute to all that have served their their country, and paid the ultimate price. So many families left behind. Lest we forget.
I am a teacher and showed this video to my form class this morning. They are year 10 and some of them said it made them want to cry. Great video, particularly good for teachers to show their students and highlight how young the men in the video look (because some of them really were only 16).
Thank you for this. It’s humbling to know that this work can be used help the younger generation understand remembrance and why it’s so important. It’s also great to know that it is resonating with them. Truly thankful for your comment.
my history teacher showed this to my whole year 10 group on monday. i was seconds away from sobs. so were others. lest we forget.

Grandad on my mother's side volunteered for the Royal Navy in the first World War. He'd heard about the trenches in France and Belgium and thought he'd be better off at sea. When he reported for training he said he was give a sailor's hat but a khaki uniform: he joined RND Hawke Battalion after training and went off to the trenches anyhow....
I cried I won't lie
Lest we never forget all that fought for their families, our freedom, our countries, and most importantly- Those who fought for the greater good for us all. Rest in peace Soldiers, you will never be forgotten.
What an amazing video, really hits home. Visited the trenches in France, what an experience and you could feel the history. Well done to my old friend Barry Wheeler and the others who made this epic film. Lest we forget
The battlefield turns into a field of flowers and seeing your comrade die at your side is a very sad moment.
This brought tears to my eyes🥺 Lest we never forget those souls that have served, are still serving and have passed to finally hear peace🥀.
The Royal Navy 'Division' was reinstated in 2010 to counter piracy and terrorism in the Gulf of Aden and further afield. The circumstances are different, but the bravery of our young sailors is tremendous.
We salute and remember them.

This brings back all those feelings of being deployed. I retired in 2009, how things never change, only when men move beyond war as a solution.

Really interesting to hear about Royal Navy Personnel serving in the trenches.
Also my great grandfather was a sailor on the armed merchant ship Orbita in ww1, would anyone know where I could perhaps find his records in any Archives for the Royal Navy?
Ancestry or Forces War Records would be your best bet. Although these sites do charge, they usually offer a free trial around remembrance.

The recent and past wars, all those lads. Giving all and fighting for a better home. How easy it is for those in our Government to waste their sacrifice. As a veteran Ive found it difficult, and watching the destruction of this country. Things dont seem to change Its still 'Lions led by Donkeys'
