She is very nice looking, but also somewhat delicate. I'm loving the way she flies, but she will not be nice after crashes!!! Hoping she'll live a long and happy life ;)

I have the Habu 50 and the f14 the Habu is way better hands down. Surprisingly the f14 is strong though I lawn darted a hand launch and it took almost no damage not even a scratch really. It’s hard to hand launch not enough thrust to feel comfortable for me. Very limited acro because no rudder and no way to adjust the control throws.
The habu 50 is the most fun you can have on a 3s. An absolutely amazing little jet

Looking at the windsock behind you landed down wind. Should have tested the Flair in the beginning because it looked like you was having issues with slowing it down.

I don't doubt you're right ;) Flying this plane for the first time was pretty scary for me. I've been dying to get my hands on it for 2+ years, and didn't want to crash it! So I might have been working the sunlight and wind. Also, the wind direction can change in the middle of a flight, and I think this might have happened here. She's a bit of a handful, and without rudders, not much to correct for slight misalignment on final, but maybe someday, I'll add in a clear piece of plastic on the nose gear, like I've done with other rudderless PNP's (Think 70mm Boeing XFly T-7A or the Eflite F-15 Eagle)

Hey Brian! Just wanted to say, I just received the IX14 transmitter, and all I can say is WOW! I know you were on the fence about getting that or another nx series with more channels. Since you already have an NX radio, you really should pick up the IX14. It’s absolutely amazing! You owe it to yourself to fly with a radio of that caliber brother! Radio setup does not change between the two. IX just has the touch screen. People will still be able to follow along. IX14 blows the old IX12 away. All the terrible things about the IX12 do not exist on the 14. Just do it, you won’t regret it😉

Very good job on the review, very interesting jet. Flying from the opposite end of your driveway was way cool. Why don't you remove a few of those trees on the opposite end of your property to give a better and longer approach pattern, that way your landing speeds won't be so fast. Nice camera work Megan.....

Congrats on good weather it's been 20 mph with higher gusts and from all directions no consistent direction for last month and a half....flying has been hard lately

Very glad I canceled my pre-order. I figured this one was a little beyond my skills and I don't have a paved strip at home. After watching this video I definitely would have been a one and done. I would love to see the hand launch capabilities if you ever get a chance, horizon made it look easy but we know how that goes. I'm a huge fan of horizon products but this one just isn't for me. Will your radio say full wing.... Mid delta... Full delta.... Saw on your other vid that you were thinking about what to put in. Also when you first opened the wings, you said they were not aligned right. Can you adjust the right wing with that safety feature... Like adjusting a survo. Just wondering. Cool plane

I'm really sorry, but absolutely not a beginner plane :( It's not even intermediate...it's a real "expert" plane...and I'm hardly an "expert" myself. It's not so HARD to fly this and other "Hard to fly" planes...it's hard to take off and land them without issues. BUT to be honest, this one is also hard to fly, at times.
You CAN get one, and CAN look at it, and CAN work toward flying it, if you have enough persistence.
If you decide to go for it, we're here to help, and we've helped thousands of people get in the air. It's not easy, but you can do it!

Hey Brian. I saw that the F-14 has a new flight controller, can you do a video explaining it if maybe you can add servos or other things on its other ports? Maybe explain the purpose of this FC and why they didn’t install a regular receiver with adaptors for the obviously needed umx servos? I’m wanting to do some mods with this if it will allow to turn it into the bombcat
I’ve been waiting a long time to see this one! It looks as though it needs a lot of runway but it seem to fly really well. It’s still not on sale till late December here in the U.K. but I’ll definitely be getting one.

Hi Brian!! I need your help with a different subject. I have about 20 batteries a mix of 3s and 4s all spectrum smart batteries. I'm not going to be doing much flying over the winter and my question is how do I store the batteries do I periodically recharge them and since they are smart batteries let them discharge them selves again or just leave them alone until spring time. They sure are!!! Strange how "fence" like they felt, and we had just come to get used to it. Wish we would have been able to get this done right the first time. Would have cost a lot less, but so glad it's done now!

OK! Did I miss something? I went from the T-28 vids to the PT-19 vids and don't recall you saying anything about your power lines going away. Did you mention this anywhere? I am sure I have not missed any video. Please advise. 😧
They've been gone for a while, but the construction project was going on for a few weeks too...so not sure how it got missed. Sometimes if you have notifications turned on, UA-cam screws up for a while...I wonder if this happened?
Too bad they didn't do the old VF-41 "Jolly Rogers" paint scheme on the vertical stabs. That would have been awesome for us old East Coast Nimitz vets from back in the day. Those were the days!

There isn't one, unfortunately, since this plane REQUIRES some complexities that the CHEAP Tx'es just won't do.

Not right now, to try to be compliant with RID (Remote ID - it's a bunch of BS from the federal government). Sorry to report this Mark, but probably only going to be offered in BNF (Bind and Fly) which means you'll have to purchase the plane and battery and transmitter separately. It's super annoying, but it's a way for Horizon Hobby to stay compliant, without major changes, as RID rolls out soon.
If you want to buy planes, and you KNOW you're here to stay (in the hobby) then just bite the bullet, and get yourself an NX8 or NX10 - if you like watching our channel, it'll be here to help you setup your transmitter for all sorts of amazing planes (we have about 1700+ videos already for you now - long format content too, not just 30 second clips...).

Hey brother I ordered this bird along with the umx twin otter. I watched both your videos which as always are superb hands down. Is the f14 easy to fly and land. I have edf experience. Also how is the umx twin otter when I comes to flying fun? Thanks for your response
Twin Otter is super easy to fly, and a total blast!
The F-14 takes a lot of room to develop maneuvers, and it can be difficult to see if your eyes aren't really good, so bring a spotter if you can ;) Just don't get annoyed when and if the wings pop out (from the internal sweep mechanism) and bring tools to fix it wherever you fly it. Take your time and you'll have a great time, but she is a fast flying and very predictable flier, but she does need room for landings, and REMEMBER - she's a bank and yank, so you can't make small corrections on final...get her lined up and don't try on a crosswind day.

No they only have flaps on wings. No ailerons on tomcat wings . They do have roll spoilers if I remember right though

interesting - I think weakness will become obvious as the volume of sales go up - in all honesty a 50mm version would have been far more appealing and a better size model I think the wing cover is over complicated and being plastic expect that this will get broken - lets hope its an item on the spare parts list - Nose wheels are very small so I expect grass ops are out of the question - so how about showing some hand launches for those of us that do not have access to a hard runway... Brian now having said all of this I have mine on order...😆😆😆

I don't believe there's a way to do differential thrust on this F-14. The thrust differential would be minimal, since the edf's aren't super far apart, but I know that would be VERY cool...

Yes, it was released a few months ago, but NO on thrust reverse, that I know of, unless I'm mistaken. These are SMART flight controllers, but not necessarially Avian, so until you get up to the TWIN 40amp (I think that's what it was in the A-10 V2) ...then you can't turn that feature on, since there's no access to it in the menus.

I have the 80 mm and the 40 mm F 14 both have really high wing loadings 64 mm will fly so much better with jets without retracts are dumb

No flaps, no rudder, and at $299...no bueno for me. I think Horizon could have done something better than this with a price point between this and the $650 Freewing plug and play.
I think it's a great plane, but also suspect you'll not be alone with this sentiment.
I like the Fattie F-14 better. 😂
