1:30 I like how everyone is concerned for the dude that looks perfectly fine, but not for the people inside a car that went flying across the street at 1:17
1:15 sounds sad to notice, but none of these people were following the road laws. The road the yellow dump truck and black Ford Explorer came from both had a red light. The Grey car and yellow taxi cab just behind the yellow dump truck were also entering the junction despite the traffic signal being on red. So despite being destracted by the Women smashing into a tower block in His mirror, the WB MASON truck was not in the wrong as He clearly had a green signal anyway considering the oncoming red car and the 2 to 3 cars behind the WB MASON were also approaching full speed suggests they had green.
@@ericp5948 i think what killed it was the CG (although not the worst CG I've ever seen) and the idea of the movie is so different. It's just a goofy action/comedy, idk why people got so pressed over it

this scene is fantastic on so many levels. i love the surrealistic and supernatural nature of the scene, how nobody can notice the goings going on, and most of all that awesome looking elevator prop on the roof at the end. really nifty stuff going on in this movie.
Does the old man have superpowers, or something? The way he was smashing into things and hanging effortlessly off the edge like it's no big deal is crazy.
Judging from the description, it seems that both cops are already dead and are continuing their duty in the afterlife. They joined a special police organization whose goal is to catch creatures (shown in the clip) hiding in the human world, bringing them back to the afterlife as well.
Both are dead people assigned to work in the “RIPD” (rest in peace department). They are tasked with hunting people who died but escaped judgement called deados (the gravity defying fat man in this scene). The movie’s main actors are what they really look like however the old asian man that pops up is because they are assigned new identities so that people who knew them when they were alive don’t recognise them so to everyone else the two appear to be an old man and an attractive woman. Because RIPD officers and deados are both dead humans, they are essentially souls unable to be seriously harmed by physical trauma (although they are not immune completely) but both can be killed by “soul-killer” bullets which all RIPD officers are equipped with.
1:05 Did he just fly away from the truck faster than the speed the truck was going?? Clearly the animator struggles with basic physical interactions and weights, making the CG look pretty terrible.
Why would the elevator go up if you shot the cable connecting it to its counterweight? If the shot could do anything, both elevator and weight would fall...
@@antoniofrancis4825 Generally, a cable is attached to the top of each elevator. It goes up to the top of the elevator shaft and over a motor powered drum, and then down to a counterweight. When the drum rotates, because the elevator and the counterweight are similar in weight, the drum only has to lift the difference in weight between the two (i.e. the weight of the passengers). If you severed the cable, the counterweight would only be balanced against a length of cable, so the end of the cable would shoot up and over the drum as the counterweight made its way to the ground. I think the person that made this movie saw the Matrix, where they attached themselves to the cable, then shot the connection between the cable and the elevator to shoot themselves to the top of the building as they attempted to rescue Morpheus. Otherwise, I'm not sure what they watched that made them misunderstand what was going to happen...
