Awesome lawnmower Sir , and for one moment I thought I was watching the wrong channel cause with your new haircut and sunshades on you looked just like Roman Sharf the wrist watch guy 🤣👍 Tam.
Great video Stan! I really like the look of these 88"s, hopefully they'll import them for us in Australia soon. My 72" rear discharge Kubota front mount does a similar job, but you can't expect much more out of a RD machine. They're made for cutting long grass down short as fast as possible, so these really are the perfect solution for councils and municipal contractors who don't want grass flying everywhere. The main thing I'd like to see Hustler do on these type of machines is offer some high HP diesel engines because they are better on fuel and have more torque. The 36hp diesel on my Kubota wouldn't have even blinked at most of that stuff where the Vanguard was almost choking out, plus its fuel consumption is miniscule.
@@Dirtmonkey Personally for the work I do I'd definitely take it. Kubota front mowers retail for around $35,000 here but people just keep buying them because they're so efficient. I've only got one at the moment but I'm looking to potentially add another 4 diesel mowers to my fleet. I think it comes down to what you're doing. If you mainly just have small-mid size residential and commercial yards stick with a petrol, but if you're doing big acreage and contract stuff like me where you pull a mower off the trailer and just go for hours on end then diesel is the way.
@@JWNLawnCare Small diesels (sub 65-70ish HP) are a dying proposition in the US due to EPA restrictions. You can still get up to a 25HP without DEF but past that it's not legal. Ford Motor Co. just discontinued their v6 Powerstroke diesel in the F-150 after 2021 it will no longer be available. The EPA has placed so many restrictions on diesels that if there is a similar gasoline powered option it doesn't make financial sense to purchase diesel. The restrictions have forced the manufacturers to neuter the diesel engines to the point that they are no longer viable until you get into 1 ton or larger pickups or 70ish HP equipment where low-end torque is simply not feasible with a gasoline option.
@@greateyedeer5418 Quite interesting. We don't really have that issue here in Australia yet but I'm sure it will come round eventually. Until then though I love my Kubota diesels!

Stan that mower in my opinion kicks ass and takes no names. When you showed that brush that you cut that was as thick as your thumb I was like that is one hell of a machine.
I've had a Hustler mower now for 4 or 5 years, love it. I mow about 3 acres of yard often, more often now that rains come almost daily. For years I had a John Deere 17hp home owner tractor type mower. With that mower it would almost take all day to mow, with the Hustler I knock it out in about an hour. Only problem; I bought the "Home Owner" model that doesn't have hydraulic oil control. My mistake! Still a wonderful mower.
Rear discharge deck probably cut your overgrown lawn better because the grass doesn't have to pass through a tunnel then be discharged out the side. RD doesn't leave as pretty a cut though, got that wavy-gravy look to it. But the ability to trim on either side is pretty cool. That Super 88 is a damn beast too. Another great video, Stan!
I had a Dixie chopper 60" cut with 20hp kohler mag twin. And I cut brush trees up to three inches in diameter Plus a lowspot retention pond dry of course. But I was amazed at it's power n performance . Only ever got her stuck once in holes muddy from run off. Best mower IVE ever had to use. Our church bought it for me to do there our property. I managed the grass till I couldnt climb up on her. I am totally disabled ,from botched operation on my spine . But I did my best for my home church as a founding member . 30 yrs of our lives invested and our children also attended n worked there.
