When editing larger and higher quality video, using proxies will enable you to edit even 8k raw

i can edit 8k no problem on the fly with my system 11900k with RTX3090 its the exporting. It took 26 hours to export this video in X265 and i had to do it 3 times as the sponsor have changed their format.

@@AndyRCchannel but why 8k? The footage is in 4k, upscaling doesn't upres the original. Your actually losing data by stretching it to double

@@yoavallon I'm not upscaling to 8k. The highest resolution that this camera can output is 6 k. But as I mentioned in this video UA-cam only recognises 5K or 8k. There was no way I was going to wait for an upscaled 8k video to render in h265. The reason I did so in 5K is to avoid UA-cam's potato encoder for the lower resolutions. Hope that answers your question. My complaints are regarding the processing not how well I can edit with my PC. So when I was talking about 8k I was just demonstrating that editing is not the issue. it's processing time for high resolutions

@@AndyRCchannel if you exporting in h265 you can choose nvidia render, it’s much faster. Don’t know what software you using but davinci resolve have this option.

@@oleg146 Thats what i did but it doesnt help. 5k60fps is always gonna take hours to encode. thanks for the suggestion though.
