@@JakeRichandAnnaChah yeah I have an external mic but its with a 3,5mm cable so I am thinking about switching also the focussing of the one R really gives me trouble. I saw your video and was like: how did he get that vlog style with the insta 360?

Beautifully made travel video and BTS video! I just ordered the One R 4k + 360 mods, looks like I may need to pick up the 1 inch mod eventually!
Just curious if you've ever tried rock climbing with an action cam like the One R or GoPro and if you have any tips on how to get the best shots. My idea is to mount it on a pole stuck in my backpack as I climb!

For your hair a little tip - Moroccanoil Argan Oil or even simple sun oil from Garnier. Oil the hair with it in the morning really thick and in the evening simply rinse with lukewarm water. Works wonders, I promise. And thanks for the cool Tipps and Ideas 🙂

Sure, the insta360 One R is an awesome 360 camera, seeing you already have the GoPro 9 I would also recommend the Insta360 One X2
Leaning towards the one x2 because I'm under the impression that the 4k may not even be needed. Want to use it for mountain biking, vacations, and possibly recording podcasts. I love the slim and simple style of the one x2. Seems like a more all in one because you can focus in a single direction.....thoughts?

I'm going to update my gopro hero 8. I'm going to use it for time lapse for work . and walk through video for job competition. I'm a hard landscaper btw. and I'll use it for family fun days. thank you for the video. God bless. any help would be appreciated on what to update too. 🙂
Did you have any problems with the salt water on the insta 360 pole? Could I use it to do 3 dives a day if I rinse it with fresh water?
of course, so far no problems. It's all still in tact and ready for the next adventure

Quick question: I read in one of your answers on the Sicily vid that you only used Standard Colour Profile. I'm not familiar with Insta360 gear (yet 😏) but that mean that mean you did no color grading on this video? Or is Standard Color Profile their name for Log ? Thanks if you could please clarify this for me.
Hey mate, I still colour graded the footage I just didn’t colour grade log footage, standard colour profile is one of insta360’s colour profiles, they also have “vivid” and “log” - I prefer to grade footage that already has a good base colour which is why we shoot in standard rather than log, it’s also much faster for me to turn around the final edit rather than colour grading log clips.
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah well I'll definitely look into your approach as the results look stunning and yeah must a huuuge gain of time if you can do it that way and still get such results and no degraded footage. Thanks for the tip and keep up your great inspiring work. 👍
Hi Jake, quick question hope you will answer 🙏🏻. How large sd card storage are you using for the the Camera, is 128gb enough for the hole day ? Or i should get a bigger then that one
I’m using 32gb or some 64gb, so yes, 128gb will last you a few days if you’re filming all the time
Is it easy to switch between stills and movie mode in the dive case? Is there a shouter lag? Also is it possible to shoot with a lower saturation?
I didn't shoot that many underwater photos however when we did, it was either one or the other. I would shoot photos underwater and then get out of the water, then switch to video mode, then shoot video. Changing from photo to video underwater is a little difficult.
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah Thank you. I have been considering the 1 inch sensor as an option when I go spearfishing, water is dark. but lack of a dedicated button is a pain. I heard you can lock the screen and use the power button, but when I am holding my breath I would like something easy to use. I prefer the less saturated colors of DJI Osmo Action and Hero 7/ Hero 8. I hope they come up with a 1" camera that is usable underwater. Amazing editing, The One R is tempting for the occasional 360 video (never tried), and the low light but implementation is a bit flawed. My videos are way slower paced than yours, but changing the setting fast in the water, with gloves is important.
What's your opinion about 4k wide ankle mod.??

of course, I have both, there are pro's and con's to each product along with their respective tech so it's great to get the best of both worlds

Jpg + raw so you can edit the raw’s in Lightroom

Thanks for the detailed video. Learned a few things from this, and will try them out.
My biggest problem with 360 videos is the quality of the output. I recently shot a family get together using 360, playing with my niece and all that cute stuff, but when I exported the reframed videos and played in on my TV, I was sort of disheartened by the quality. My export was in 1080p, and it should have been clearer and less blurry, more detailed, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
The 360 videos that you have shown are very detailed and have much more quality. If you can share the workflow/tricks for the same, that would be a huge help.
Hi Manish, my workflow for 360 videos to retain quality is:
1) shoot in 5.7K 24 FPS
2) Overcapture and keyframe the 360 clip in Insta360 Studio
3) render the clip using the highest bit rate (200mps) and export using 2560 x 1440 resolution + remove grain (if the clip is a bit noisy) + H.264 if uploading to UA-cam or H.265 if uploading to Instagram
4) If i'm going to edit the clip further in Adobe Premiere Pro to add colour grading or use it as part of a greater montage I will export the clip in "Pro Res" to retain the highest quality which will then be exported again out of Adobe Premiere Pro in H.264 or H.265 (depending on the platform i'm uploading to)
5) Upload to UA-cam or Instagram
