You cannot compare rachelle to other singers. Those girls just have voices, but she has a instrument. She could be hiding in the orchestra and you wouldn't know she was unless you heard a word. She could sing your faves song and make it so complex that your fave wouldn't know what to do. It's fine to not like her style, but be honest. Who could compete or even cover a song by her? I always wished she was paid a tribute, but who would be brave enough to do it?

Just a beast. I wonder where she would have been in her singing career if she hadn't got sick. I believed Miss Rochelle was definitely on her way to being one of the greatest singers, that ever walked the Earth. I had the pleasure of meeting her and her brother, let me expound on her brother for a minute. Once when she was in concert she brought her brother along with her and he hit a high note and was carrying it for a while, the crowd was going crazy, when I looked up I noticed it was him, I was out done. So the gift definitely runs in the family. Rachelle Ferrell have this big beautiful personality, she was so humble and caring. As she was leaving I said hello to her, she stopped and beckon me to come closer I did, we spoke a little her myself and her brother. She hugged me and her and her brother gave me their autograph. Before she walked out the door, she turned around and called my name and said, bye I never forgot that.❤❤❤

Factually speaking, the only thing Rachelle has on Mariah is stamina and power. Other than that, Rachelle doesn't have nearly anything on Mariah and Mariah has absolutely *nothing* and I mean, *nothing* to envy from Rachelle. All Rachelle can do is hold a note longer, other than that, there isn't anything in the whistle register Rachelle has done that Mariah can't do and hasn't done. Hell, Rachelle hasn't even gone as high as Mariah. Rachelle is no match for Mariah's speed, agility, coloratura, resonance and belting.
And don't even get me started on tone: Rachelle's tone is nothing to shout about. She has nothing on Mariah in that department. Purely by the sound of it, I've heard tons of people express a distaste for Rachelle's tone, which isn't particularly pleasant; of course that's subjective; but, it's frequently described as a highly acquired taste. And I've heard this quite frequently. Mariah, on the other hand, along with Whitney Houston, has been described as possessing among the most beautiful voices in popular music.
Regarding vocal runs. The runs displayed in this video are absolutely no match for Mariah's coloratura. Rachelle's "runs" are ridiculously basic, overbearing and repetitive. She is *nowhere* near as quick, speedy, agile and flexible as Mariah. That's also basic physics. Mariah's voice is far smaller and her vocal chords are much more thinner than Rachelle's, therefore with that, she's simply going to be far more vocally agile and flexible. Fact. Mariah has *plenty* on Whitney Houston, as well. Mariah possess more textures in her voice, she's also more agile and vocally flexible than Houston, she has a far more extensive and superior lower register, a more flexible and brighter upper belting register.
Mariah and Whitney are essentially equal and speaking from a strictly vocal standpoint, the two were equal. Truth be told, Mariah's technique was slightly superior to Whitney's.

Some people make comments about some vocalist on what they think they know about them, or what they her from other people. You CAN NOT COMPARE Mariah Carey to Racehelle Farrell. She (Rachelle Farrell) received classical training in violin and the piano at an early age and was performing professionally on both instruments and as a vocalist as a teenager and learned arrangement and developing her abilities in singing and songwriting at Berklee College of Music.

it was said in an interview i came across that she has and 8 range octave. Range does not make a singer, being able to "sang" makes you a singer. I like Mariah as well, but..your girl Mariah can't do what Rachelle Ferrell can do. Again, she should take notes..And for the record, Whitney and Mariah were both pop/R&B artist, Ms. Ferrell is a jazz singer, who plays piano and writes her own music, Ms. Houston was awesome, no question. Both had Sony and Arista pushing their music to the masses to make them successful, so its not fair to say who's better, when their all great singers, i love Whitney as well, RIP Whitney, but she couldnt do what Rachelle Ferrell can do as well..
well if youre not defending Mariah or Whitney, then why are we talking? i never said anything about being better. I just said for "Mariah" to take notes.
I also said that neither Mariah or Whitney can/could do what Rachelle Ferrell does...which is true.
their talent got them to the top, but a great marketing team had a great deal to do with it as well...i'm a singer/songwriter as well so i know what singing is about.
So..my question for you is, if i didn't mention Mariah in my comment, would we be having this conversation?
@ Maryah Watkins Productions: Me too my dear... I love Barbara, Mariah & hands down, our girl, the 1 and only Whitney (RIP), who are all Amazing Artist! No argument or doubt about that. Kinda, like a car that can perform highly...but then there are cars that are even more elite and perform at pique performance rare. That is the scope of Rachelle Ferrell.
However, Sing better? Don't think so. None of the talents you mention can "Sing better," or do what Rachelle does...though Rachelle can easily vocally emulate what they do. There are a gamut of things going on with Rachelle -- It is her sheer astounding talent, her gift to sing just about any genre well, her tone, her ability to run intricate scales, to go in and out and all around the world with her range, her ease of ability to bend and play around with notes like it is the embouchure of a beautifully seasoned instrument. That is what classifies her to be in a league all her own.
This is why other artists on every front continue to say, Rachelle is who every artist wants to grow up to be. And although, Rachelle is humble as pie...just read some of the regal comments other prominent artist say about her and how they don't even want to get on stage with her (for obvious reasons LOL)
Certainly, it is not that B.M.W. are better singers than Queen Rachelle (for sure that is not the case). They are just more popular mainstream than she! That's the politics of the music industry.
I tell you true...ask just about any singer who knows of Rachelle's genius anointed abilities...myself as a singer included-- just ask them if it were ideally possible, whose musical gifting would they want to have? I betcha by a landslide it would be Rachelle's Super-gifted vocal & musical prowess. Of course, they would also aspire to (if the could) couple that with the popularity of Whit, Mariah and Barbara..to include some Aretha sprinkled on top:)
You see, Rachelle is like Star Trek...she vocally goes where no man/woman has gone before. She is a singer's singer... definitely next frontier :)
