QUICK UPDATE! Taco Vinyl makes an extra thick vinyl piece exactly to protect the paint from wind deflectors... so I've ordered one! Issue should be mitigated in a week or so. 😁
Have a 24 4Runner TRD ORP in Underground with about 9k miles in 3 months! I'm watching your videos for inspriation so when I'm finally ready to mod it after the warranty, I can go crazy with a suspension and roof rack... keep up the great work!
Jason, You’re more than welcome to come over and show me how to get rid of the hard water spots, clay bar and ceramic coat my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed. We can then leave our house and catch the BDR from Cashmere to Lake Chelan. 👍
@@JasonExplainsThings Actually one of my good friends son does all of the exterior, interior and engine bay on our vehicles twice a year and he’s very reasonable on the cost. He’ll wash, clay bar and ceramic the exterior and engine bay for $125. I have the premium and technology pkgs on my TRD, so he cleans and conditions the leather interior, and details the interior for $100. He’s a nice young man. He’s not a Christian so his dad and I are praying for him.
I’m glad you found the roof rack best for YOU but it’s not the best for ME. The uptop overland rack has more features to utilize your roof rack for storing my camping equipment or getting lumber from the store. Plus it’s a $300 dollars less and I waited to by mine for 30% off during a December sale. That’s the best for me.
I've been wanting to get a Prinsu rack for my Tacoma, but I think I prefer how the Sherpa mounts to the roof as opposed to rubber washers + spacers and silicone with the Prinsu. in anticipation I did buy the PPF Roof Rack Guard from Taco Vinyl
Looking forward to the tent reveal! This rack looks not more substantial and better designed to fit the styling of the 4runner. The ceramic coating is a great idea. Any plans to do the whole rig (or rigs) with it?
Those types of racks are really cool, but they are VERY pricey. I found one that looks like them but also installs on the stock cross bars. Yes, it doesn't look as cool, but I don't care and it was many times cheaper. It barely clears my garage door so that's a plus.
No way man. We are holding on to ours long term! I haven't gotten a chance to drive the new crop of Toyotas yet but I have sat in them all. Of the 3 the Land Cruiser is the most appealing. I like the design and visibility. I'm just too happy with my 4Runner and Tacoma to consider getting rid of them. That and both of them are not too far from being paid off. :-)

Can you share the link! Thank you in advance!

Wow! Awesome man! Stuff like a rack won’t affect your warranty.
I love how the 4Runner is designed to be personalized. So easy and fun.
Awesome that your "special lady" helped you with the install!
She’s pretty awesome… and thrilled with the new setup.
Awesome video Jason!! Pretty nice upgrades over the original prinsu rack I knew. Look forward to the GFC!
Thanks! Can't wait to start using it.
That install is so much cleaner, lol. You're telling me you DON'T have to drill new holes into the roof? 👏
Weird right?! 4Runners and Tacomas are too easy.

Yeah that’s not a small amount of work! 😅

Very nice and detailed video about installing the Prinsu rack. I’m with you on putting a sacrificial layer under that faring.
Yep! Solution has actually just been ordered.
I wish that ALL (or more to be realistic) aftermarket manufacturers would include Torque Specifications with their directions!
Love the upgrade Jason!
Great video as always! Rack looks really good. I’m also impressed with how much of a difference cleaning the roof like that made, I may have to try it
I bet it is quieter because it doesn't let air through the gap between the roof.
Thanks for sharing I always enjoy your videos. 👍🏻👍🏻

I bet you are loving the ac unit in your garage this week
Very much so! 😅

I did the whole vehicle when it was new (3.5 years ago). Probably due to do the rest of the vehicle next year.

Jason, I have a moon roof on my 4Runner and I want a full size roof rack. Is it ok to remove a crossbeam so I still get a clear view?
Yep. Shouldn’t be an issue. They have standard positions but you can put them in different spots or run less.
@@JasonExplainsThings Thanks for replying man. This is my first 4Runner and I just want to set it up right.
Prinsu looks good, but they’re far from the best. After a few months, the coating flakes and bolts will snap in half. Real quality is Sherpa.
$1k for roof racks is ridiculous
Wait...why are you still working on your 4runner when you're going to get the next gen?! haha
