Kelsey, thanks to you and the others who engage passengers in our enthusiasm. I braved a chance to thank the pilots before an MSP-LGA flight this morning to wish them a good morning and ask if they had a delta trading card I could keep. The pilot was so nice and spent a minute telling me all about a new A381NEO model of planes. He was so kind and I felt really special that he shared that valuable time. 🥰
I’m glad crews still like showing people their office. I got to fly on a 787 a few weeks ago, my first time on one. When we were deplaning, I asked an FA if I there was any chance I could see the flight deck. I had this whole impassioned speech ready about why I wanted to and I’d be quick, etc. but he was immediately like “Absolutely! Come with me! What’s your name? I’ll introduce you to the pilot!” Pilot was also super happy to tell me about the aircraft and take pictures. It was great fun.
Hey Kelsey. You review was fair. You didn't trash these guys. It's obvious their videos are just for laughs not to inform. The people who can really afford the high end flights just want to get to their destinations. Thanks again for another great video.
The blimp isn’t cheap. That one takes a ground crew of 9 to launch and recover it, not counting the crew people that were on the night shifts that watch the blimp when on the ground, a mechanic and 2 pilots. Also it has a cruise speed of around 35kts, and it takes a lot of preflight time for weather since it is flown to all locations. Flying an approach is much more difficult than an airplane as I have done both. Also at the end of that approach you have to have the crew catch the lines to put it back on the mast. I have over 7000 hours flying blimps over a 9 year career.
I was fortunate enough to ride on a blimp one time. The wild thing to me was landing. They twisted the big wheel to pitch it nose down, but that doesn’t make it lose altitude. Then they power up the engines to push it down. Such a weird sensation, leaned forward 15-20 degrees, barely moving with the engines blasting away.
The “Thug Life” clip literally made me laugh out loud while eating breakfast. I always look forward to watching the new videos on Sunday mornings! Thanks for showing this and giving your feedback KY Kelsey!
Kelsey, here's a cute pilot story for you. This happened long before 911 when it was common for the door to the flight deck to be open and often one of the pilots would actually be standing at the entrance to welcome passengers aboard (I know, different times). My ex wifes's parents lived on an island in BC with a lot of artsy crafty folks. One older woman liked to make hobby horses for kids. She'd take a well worn stick of driftwood and create a stuffed, sometimes emroidered horse, or unicorn head and sll them for cheap as she just liked making kids smile. My own kids had one and they loved it. Anyway, she had to fly from Vancouver to Toronto to visit her grandchildren and decided to bring a hobby horse she had made as carry on. No problem getting through security but the head flight attendant said it couldn't go on the plane because it was dangerous. One of the pilots saw this and took custody of the toy and told the woman to see him after they landed. On landing the woman met the pilot and he handed over the handcrafted toy. He told her he had strapped it into the jumpseat in the cockpit, it had a wonderful view during the flight and the flight crew enjoyed having it along on the flight. Thar's the kind of badass pilot I want flying me.

Boeing Longacres had a huge display of pilot wings from different airlines. I used to work there and spent a few lunchtimes just looking at all the different designs. 👨✈
I still have the "junior Pilot" wings I received on a flight I took as a child in a TWA Connie back in '62. And yes, I got to sit up front and ask questions during cruise. It's been over 60 years and I still remember the experience like it was yesterday. The start of my aviation geekiness.
@@gailpeterson3747 The only way we we're able to get wings, was by visiting the pilot in the cockpit. I even remember when young kids (around 7 and 8) would go fly by themselves. The young people of today would call that abuse.
I’ve always been super intrigued by the cockpit, I always love it when we land and start getting off the flight when the captains have the door open to say bye so I can snag a glimpse inside as I leave. Glad you made this video Kelsey.
Cool that Emirates takes maintanines so serious. I just got of long haul of watching NTSB report documentaries and I'm so glad someone just is being proactive about it. Flying a blimp is a much different animal than flying a plane. Blimps are different in that you need to measure your trajectory carefully in consideration of current conditions to ensure a safe landing. Wind shifts can be a hazard. A plane comes in on a certain glide path with a certain air speed, flaps and corrects with a crab if its windy. I wouldn’t ride a blimp in a storm! Nice vid Kelsey👍
My wife’s sister is a flight attendant and told us how much the flight attendants appreciate a treat, candy etc. We always hand a treat to the flight attendant and they are always so appreciative. Just to see the smile on their faces is a very cool thing.
Dudes plane knowledge is amazing! First video of yours I’ve seen! I can’t believe how you know what plane they’re on based on flight attendant uniforms!
As a kid I used to love going to the cockpit. My dad was Navy and when we were stationed in Italy, we would take the C130 mac flights. That was the best because those guys would let us kids stay up on the deck almost the whole flight. I got to actually sit in the chair and move the plane under the captains instructions. Feeling the feedback from the hydraulics was a rush. Still in love with flying to this day.
I am reminded of nice lady some decades ago who wanted to fly around the world. It seems Pan Am furnished a jetliner and painted her name on it. They scheduled the flight to fill in for various common carrier hops, and the special passenger paid her own fare to fly coach. She never got off the plane, and eventually arrived back at her starting point. She was very thrilled by her experience.
6:42 I like the idea of a sleeper coach airplane. Just make it all stacked bunks and have a spaces to get up and stretch your legs occasionally. Suitable for overnight flights. They could limit hand luggage and overhead storage and restrict cabin luggage to a night bag provided by the airline. Possibly during the day the bunks could rotate together and convert into seats. i.e. the whole triple bunk rotates on an axis and folds into seats.
Hey Kelsey. "The Sun" just released a article "SCARE-O-PLANE Pilot reveals the scary truth about how close your plane gets to others in the sky". You might want to rip it apart.

LOL, Kelsey, my 12 y.o. introduced me to Mr. Beast last year & we've watched many of his videos together. While the subject matter is focused on a teen market (blowing things up, crashing cars & trains, etc.) Mr. Beast has donated millions to many, many charities throughout world. Seems to be a good bunch of people.
See I've seen Mr beast thumbnails in my recommendations and he really creeps me out. Especially after I worked as a line cook in a restaurant that makes Mr beast burger. I've been thinking the same thing, even without being able to see his reflection in the mirror it's obvious he does use his hands a lot. Plus, the thick eyebrows.
When the possibility of visiting the 'office' (as my father called it) became less it was nice to have a Captain as your father who could send his business card up front. On one trip, when travelling on my own, I spent almost the whole flight in the jump seat but that was a long time ago (Vanguard).
0:12 I'm actually amazed that he made ~100% accurate representation of subscriber ratio! (186:1 => 1.13M sub of 74Gear times 186 equals 210M subs of Mr. Beast) God job, Sir!
The BBJ is definitely very nice! However a funny story. My dads friend was a firefighter and was involved in a rescue from a blimp crash. He said the hardest part was waiting for it to crash before he rescued the pilots.
For me personally -- the advantage of flying private is that you can go from any airport you want, to any other airport you want. So I can fly from a small town somewhere to a small town somewhere else, and get to fly whenever I want. I once took a flight landing at an airport in Cape May New Jersey in the evening. It servces both General Aviation and is a US Coast Guard base. The pilots taxied off the runway. The FBO was closed. I had to walk over to a fence where a driver was waiting on the other side of a gate in the dark. The driver said he felt like he was in some action/adventure movie -- waiting on a dark street for someone to get off a private plane.
I remember going into the cockpit when I was a small child. We were allowed to adjust the heading knob, and the plane banked. That was so cool to me as a child.
I was about to tease you that their was someone in the background making your bed, but then realized it was a mirror and it was you talking with your hands. Now that’s all I see and have to rewind to listen! LOL

Having worked for Boeing, I have spent a lot of time on Boeing planes, and some of my favorite times were on airliners that were test flights or delivery. Being on the Dreamlifter was a pretty cool experience, too. The best were the rollout events. My other half's birthday is 7-7 and took them to the triple 7 rollout on 07-07-07. Fun times
I was born 1970 and hit the flight deck in 1976 during flight. I was so impressed, that I wanted to become a pilot, which I learned was not possible because I have strong glasses. :(
A shot story about the Goodyear Blimp. The flight crew was flying a IFR approach in VFR conditions when ATC told them to climb above the glidescope to allow a much faster aircraft following them to make the approach and land. The blimp returned to the glidescope and landed as usual. The Goodyear Blimps fly at 35 statute miles per hour. As an aside the Fuji Film Blimp flys as fast as the fixed wing aircraft towing banners at large sporting events. One time I drove a group of Chicago White Sox fans over to the New Comisky Park for a home game. There was 3 fixed wing banner tows and the Fuji Film Blimp all flying a racetrack pattern over the ballpark during the game. Great content as always Kelsey. Keep up the great work.
Interesting. I saw the Goodyear blimp at the airfield years ago. My mother told us that she remembered seeing the Hindenburg fly over her house on Long Island on its way to New Jersey….

The entire premise being "damn, this guy spends a lot of money.......let me watch it"
@74 Gear could you do a video on your editing setup? The laptop you do your editing on, your camera setups etc. I'm sure a fair few people would be curious how you manage to make such high quality videos and your process :)
I never understood why anyone flying first class would be in a hurry to board the plane and have people walking by them with swinging battering rams (carry-on luggage). I don't care how nice the cabin is, I'd be more comfortable hanging back until the mass of people have settled in.
Luckily, the larger planes used on long haul services have the first class cabin to the left of the entrance door, while all the other passengers turn right when they the enter the plane. So its much more private.

@@gailpeterson3747
The only way we we're able to get wings, was by visiting the pilot in the cockpit.
The video we never knew we needed but we got

Didn't wake up today thinking I'd see Kelsey reacting to Mr Beast, but I'm glad I did
I guess I'm getting old because seeing a grown man jump on a bed during a $500K flight just pisses me off 😂
i had the same reaction. like grow up for crying out loud.
If I had to share a flight with that group of idiots I’d probably be put on a no fly list!
Old man yells at cloud
Children. Annoying.
"Damn kids, get out of my plane!"
Cool that Emirates takes maintanines so serious. I just got of long haul of watching NTSB report documentaries and I'm so glad someone just is being proactive about it. Keeping up with parts is just something that you CAN do to prevent stuff. Also I'd like the cozy feel of the converted PBY Catalina RV.
Very nice of Kelsey to help promote smaller youtubers like this guy... what was his name again? Brent?
74 Gear..Giving you the reality of aviation ..Always #1
Mr. Beast can keep his money, I would rather have your flight hours and ratings, Kelsey. 👍🏼
I'll take the money and if he dropped a couple 100 million in front of you, you'd take it too. All though I doubt you would put the hours into he has to earn that money.
@@carnivorepolice5-0 “Earn that money.” It’s not money, it’s currency.

@blairyoung6236 yes he has to work on his business to earn the money he spends. It's not just given to him, you sack of shit. As if calling me a capitalist hurts my feelings. I am sure my education level and work ethic rival anything you could supply.
@@FilosophicalPharmerwhat the heelll are you talking about
@@someguy2398 Life, young fellow. I’m talking about life.
It took me a embarrassingly long time to realise it was a mirror in the background and not the doorway to another room with someone in 😂

I was wondering myself, so you aren't alone. Kelsey does talk with his hands even when we can't normally see them.

I thought some one was hiding in the bedroom😂
Kelsey’s facial expressions are great!!! He truly is one of a kind.
Raise your hand if you think Kelsey should do a series on getting a blimp licence 🙋♀️
Only if he actually gets the license…
I am reminded of nice lady some decades ago who wanted to fly around the world. It seems Pan Am furnished a jetliner and painted her name on it. They scheduled the flight to fill in for various common carrier hops, and the special passenger paid her own fare to fly coach. She never got off the plane, and eventually arrived back at her starting point. She was very thrilled by her experience.
KY Kelsey might be the best aviation nickname one can ever get.
Hey Kelsey, congrats for the 1 mil subs (sry for being late) I am happy for you! cheers
Hey Kelsey. "The Sun" just released a article "SCARE-O-PLANE Pilot reveals the scary truth about how close your plane gets to others in the sky".
You might want to rip it apart.
This is the first I’ve heard of “mr beast” and I’m not at all disappointed that I never knew of him.
I‘m sure there are women (or men?) who would spread ehhh do anything staying next to these guys. 🙄
Preach it brother!
You've been fortunate
@CreakyCricket He has a money lifestyle and pretend teeth that so many of his countrymen all aspire to. Don't blame him for that!
Wait a minute…I just learned mrbeast has over 190 MILLION subscribers??? No wonder he can waste $1 million on this kind of video. 😯
We’re living in strange times, people. Twilight Zone.
At one point I thought there was an error with the video but it was literally how stern and motionless you were haha. You have an insane skill at just sitting still, it's impressive
Helps to keep a consistent CoG.

That’s good to know. I had never heard of him before this. Have a good day from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
See I've seen Mr beast thumbnails in my recommendations and he really creeps me out. Especially after I worked as a line cook in a restaurant that makes Mr beast burger. (SO overpriced but we sold more of that stuff than our own menu 😱) Glad to know that this guy does some good with his apparent fame and fortune 👍🏽
Me personally, I find charity to be stupid. If you don’t know someone personally, u shouldn’t help them out because I guarantee a large percentage of those in need are bad people
Kelsey is part Italian? The mirror in the background gave it away. You never seem so animated until we can see your hand gestures in the back ground! Lol

The BBJ is definitely very nice! However a funny story. My dads friend was a firefighter and was involved in a rescue from a blimp crash. He said the hardest part was waiting for it to crash before he rescued the pilots.
made me laugh on a dreary Sunday morning
You forgot to mention the military aviation museum/hangar right next to the airport!

LOL
"Getting a nickname in aviation is the worst" 😅😅 also like "Captain Commando" 😂
"I bought all of these seats" [TRANSLATION: This plane never left the ground!]
Of all those planes, I was more intrigued in flying in the $1.00 Breezey than all that other stuff.
For the blimp approaches, the speed isn't where you get into trouble, it's crosswinds that are murder!
I love how he keeps referring to Mr. Beast like he's not Mr. Beast.
How would you feel if a subscriber noticed you on a flight and said hi? do you want your privacy or can we come up to you?
It’s not KY-Kelsey, it’s actually FreeBreakfast-Kelsey. And you seriously didn’t think you had a nickname? Love the channel !!
Congratulations again on the subscriber run Kelsey. I hope you've got room on a wall for that million subscriber play button plaque. Absolutely incredible how quickly your channel has grown. You've earned every one. I've seen a few MrBeast videos but I'm virtually certain I've seen every one of yours. 74 Gear is an epic channel you alone created. And you should be very proud.
Fun times
Cool. Despite Boeing's issues I love their planes and it's cool that you worked for them. :)

You are adorable! Loved this vlog. Thank you for adding joy to my day.
Adorable?
I was born 1970 and hit the flight deck in 1976 during flight. I was so impressed, that I wanted to become a pilot, which I learned was not possible because I have strong glasses. :(
14:20 „I could probably fly a blimp” is the thing I’ve never thought would sound badass
Good Sunday morning to you, Kelsey. I hope you and yours are doing great today, BROTHER!
KEEP THE BLUE SIDE UP 🛩🫡
A shot story about the Goodyear Blimp.
So “wasted” $1,000,000 and made $3,000,000 from UA-cam and promotions.
I doubt he paid that much, it would have been mostly complimentary in exchange for having their name appear and advertising their services, Mr Beast has a huge marketing team.
A. I never realized how much Kelsey talks with his hands until now with that reflection in the background.
B. This mr beast video was done while they were traveling the world to pay for a bunch of legally blind people to see again and/or deaf people to hear again.
I don’t think he meant the plane was a “$100,000 plane”… the charter was…
I'm pretty sure Mr. Beast didn't pay a cent for any of these flights. His UA-cam has more eyeballs on it than many TV networks.
Yeah Cus u were there during the whole preparation and everything smh
This is a great video. Thanks for taking the time to make and share it. 🙂

Yes, a lot of his videos are very wasteful in nature, and definitely not something others can replicate easily, but he is the largest UA-cam channel and makes tens to hundreds of millions a year easily, so the investment is worth it from a purely monetary perspective.

So its much more private.
heck even single ones sometimes connect to the second door instead of first
@@ib9rt I haven't flown long haul since United decided I needed a 4h layover in Aukland instead of the nonstop LAX-MEL I'd paid for.
