  • Coach Auriemma says UConn was definitely working out the kinks in the home opener today. A strong offensive performance kept the Huskies alive, however, and on the back of Paige Bueckers 34 point showing they were able to come out with a win 95-80.

What Geno was really implying (read between the lines) was that against a team like Arkansas, he TRULY "Missed" Aubrey Griffin, and her game, on the floor today. Her quickness, rebounding (offensive and defensive rebounds), and defensive prowness on the floor, would have made a huge difference.

@Bill Shaw Thought I was the only AG fan in the nation. Her production per minutes is off the charts. Immediate impact. Put backs, blocks and collecting fouls on post players.

Really hope AG will be able to play in the battle of Atlantis should we have to go against South Carolina. We need her defense!

There’s a reason why Geno has more players in the WNBA then any other team. You can make a full team out of the players in the WNBA and it would be a dynasty. No one could touch them. They could go undefeated.

AT 14:18...the "...stand there and yell miss" comments were without question the most hilarious commentary on Geno's frustration with the defense I've ever heard.

I laughed way harder at that than I should have.

    Transition Game
I hope this is where Coach wants to start the season off.... The fast break last year did start until later in the season.... And this is how they were able to beat so many teams with a high point differential... They score in the 80's/90's + and the other team would be in the 40's/50's/60's etc.!!!!!!!When you have a team that is ready to run because the D is able to force the opponents to lose control then the transit games are easy to manufacture from their loss of control... It is the next logical step in the progression of the team's maturity....😁😁😁

Geno isn’t going to be like other coaches and kisses and baby there players. Geno about making players better.

It may take half of this season but when this ridiculously talented Uconn team really kicks into gear...look out. Give Azzi some time. Remember, Breanna Stewart didn't really become unstoppable Stewie until playoffs of her freshman year.

The girl does not play both ends of the floor that’s a huge liability she has to get abs be in better shape than she is

@@Christlivesinm3 agreed. I remember at least three instances where an Arkansas player blew right by Azzi to the basket.

All you guys are crazy and trolls. You all were prob Tenn fans. When your team wins more then 5 National titles and are relevant for more then 2 decades come back and comment then.

The front line other than Edwards still plays soft. It's early I know. They will have a problem with physical teams if the front line does not get physical and not by fouling.

Geno hasn’t won a title since 2016. Think about that…… Y’all want to fire him because of that….. how crazy does that sound???

keep in mind it is a female team of young kids with Paige not yet being able to take directions seriously from her coach....
i was kind of hoping after the championship loss last year they'd turn up more mature, but Paige seems to be still a silly kid not respecting coaching directions.
i can imagine that drives Geno nuts since she is supposed to lead the team on the floor executing the game plan.
