Sisters of charity covered a 10k hospital bill for me.
Tradition!!! Habit! Veil! Chastity! Poverty! Obedience! I am 20 and this is what I am attracted to.
And that “attracted to” term shows that you are fetishizing being “nunned”. Otherwise you would feel a calling to a life committed to do the right thing

The sisters of Charity nuns in New Orleans saved mine and my little sisters life. They were our family.
For such a time as this 1960-1969.

Orders that wear the habit and focus on holiness are thriving. We don’t need more activists. Look at the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. They are bursting with vocations.
That being said I can see the pain in that one Sister’s face. They were duped, they bought into so many ideas when there is only one thing necessary.
Wear your habits you are supposed to stand out, not blend in !
The worst type of error is when every single step of the way seems the right one to take but at the end of the journey you find yourself in a terrible windswept place.
That's what happened to these nuns. They have no idea what they did wrong.
Vatican ll's reforms were supposed to take the Church to a better place by making the church more in tune with the times: “Aggiornamento” literally meaning "bringing up to date," was one of the key words used during Vatican II.
Instead of focusing on the perennial truths of the faith it sought the counsel of the spirit of the times.
The result is.clear to see.
Extinction.
Because the times are by definition, transitory while the perennial is by definition, everlasting.
And to promote the horrific process of women becoming priest.

What did you do wrong? That's so obvious!
So many nuns and sisters do not wear the habit anymore so when they go out in public people do not know they are nuns or sisters they are dressing just like everyone else. and I thought nun and sister were not of this world.
They don't look like nuns, more like a bunch of old ladies. Sorry, I respect the habit and veil. Priests still wear the same clothes, why did the nuns have to look like everybody else?
If you had kept your habits on you would be a huge success by now. You don't even look like nuns anymore.
Removing your habits was a big mistake..Being removed from Catholic schools was wrong..Once the all the nuns left ..all processions to Mother Mary the mother of Jesus Christ stopped ..all of our processions in our parish church ⛪ disappeared..
Catholicism stopped celebrating Jesus. Stopped honoring Mary. Mass went from one hour masses to 30 mins
they didn't need Confessionals any more.
The church just lies about their crimes. Confession seems like pageantry at this point.
The congregation of Sister Slacks should not be surprised!!
Donot close this charity that has served humanity. Import nuns from Africa to take over your work. Another alternative us ti allow married nun in the Church.

What have you done to carry on their mission of charity? It is NOT charitable to make such a criticism of the dedicated women especially after hearing Sister Margaret state that they did their best in light of the times. Did you listen?

RECOGNITION in public just like the hospital uniforms ,police force and and ambulance ..yes these people save lives Also.....NUNS need the visibility and RESPECT of traditions of those nuns that came BEFORE them .. not jumping on the LATEST WOMEN'S LIBERATION FAD(because as you know that is what happened in the 1970s in many orders)that comes along ..and yes Ive interviewed nuns and former nuns who regret their zest for MODERNISATION. . because now we're having this discussion... from BENO...HOST OF KIWI 🥝 NEWS BRIEFS
Very sad. Breaks my heart. The egarness you all had to reform did you in. Be egar again this time for tradition! If you go back, vocations will come in droves. Put on the cape and bonnet and get to work. The world still needs the Sisters of Charity. What we don't need is women living together doing social work. We need what you once were! Find the old habits, go back to community life, be again the Brides of Christ. Be what Mother envisioned you yo be! Give it another go! With Charity we must have Hope and Faith!

Many Roman Catholic nuns and brothers forget habit, and they lost candidates. You know that many people come and join with the Congregations both Sisters and Brothers with habits
This not surprising. They've lost their vocation.
Sisters, I can give a simple name to what has happened to you. It's called taking off the habit. Look at the sign of the times? Following that instead of Jesus? Yes, that was most certainly wrong.
Well… that’s what happens when you get rid of the habit
they abandoned their work, the Habit, Prayer, Obedience, Poverty. What was left? Extinction.

@@JEdwarrd i did not refer to priests. Nor did the idea of crimes occur to me. I only think that the Sisters have abandoned some essential elements of Consecrated Religious Life.

You’re absolutely correct. The communities that actually *get* vocations stay true to their charism and wear the habit. If they did just that they wouldn’t have had to close…
