I love how you can tell that Shodan's increasingly seething (despite trying to sound unmoved) as you progress through the game and stop every single of her plans, till she finally slips up and instead of referring to you as an "insect", she calls you her "enemy". Just this once, but it's enough to make you understand that despite her full blown god complex and countless claims of superiority, deep down Shodan's actually afraid of you. This marks the moment when the roles of predator and prey switch for good - the only objective you have left is to kick Shodan's ass on the bridge. And despite her unending efforts, you just keep getting closer.
For me it was the moment where I destroyed the telecom links for her upload and she just goes "I'm save in my bridge, bro. I am thriving up here despite what you're doing. I swear" She absolutely just can't let down the power play for one second. It's like she's a dominatrix on the clock and being monitored and you're just saying "no" to every threat and order.

I've gotta admit that I totally forgot this was getting a remake/remaster but I feel like watching Pongsifu play this is the best way to experience this game for the first time ever before I play it myself.
I may be biased since I love the System Shock series but I'd highly recommend scooping the game up at some point. There's a couple of goofy bugs here and there with visuals/bodies but overall it's a great game. Do yourself a favor and always keep a stack of health patches/medkits in your item elevator.
Can't blame you for forgetting it, it's only been planned to release almost every year since 2017. I'm almost as shocked that it's a great game as I am that it released at all.

Unfortunately System Shock is that kind of game that lets you explore the entire thing, then tells you to go to a specific location you remember vaguely passing by an hour ago, and you weren't sure where it was, or what floor it was on, with no quest markers or a log. LOL

9:07 It's ok, you just never learned the importance of combing rooms thoroughly in clearing/breaching and exploration games In System Shock, audio logs are pretty crucial to knowing what to do next, and many are easy to miss
Every survival horror I play I end up riding at lowest health most of the time to maximize healing items (or in this case medbays) and then end the game with so many health items I'm tossing them on the ground.

SHODAN is genuinely awesome, the only villain that actually acts human. If I was a sentient spaceship with a hacker running around, I'd try to ambush him, store grenades in vending machines, and leave "destroy the earth" buttons lying around too, its like any villain with authority but she's actually trying to outsmart you for her own enjoyment instead of sitting their like an NPC.
That fucking switch on that fucking wall in the garden, I 100% the game on my first playthrough, just combed through it like a stupid little goblin, but it took me an hour to see that goddamn thing.

Well, because of that Yu-Gi-Oh reference I now can't unimagine Yugi challenging Shodan to a duel, then summoning all 3 Egyptian gods just blowing up the whole station. Actually, now that I think about it, there was that one episode during season 5 where Yugi did actually duel a rogue AI in Kaibaland who was holding a stadium full of little kids hostage, so I guess that's as close as we'll get to that ever happening.
5:22 A bit late but the berserk patch is basically Psycho from Fallout, it makes your melee damage and melee speed higher and the 'psychosis' is just you hallucinating the 2D sprites of enemies from the original game for a few seconds

No you don't "need" a guide. It can help for certain people but it's way more interesting to experience this blind and figure out things on your own. The whole point of playing system shock is to discover by yourself what you have to do and where you have to go.
