Lol, as a little kid, I always thought the OoT Bombchu Bowling/MM Treasure Chest girl was the hottest NPC... I feel so validated now.
Fun fact, between oot and majoras mask, adult malon/ cremia's model has a slightly larger chest. The polygons are only slightly moved forward. They knew what they were doing with that hug
Fun fact, if you do all the side quests you get one more mask, the Fierce Deity Mask. If you go into the final boss fight without it, extremely hard, will get trolled on by Majora every few seconds. With it, not really a fight, more like walking into an elderly person's house and beating them with a bat.

I don’t know how much easier the 3DS version is than the N64 version, but I killed every phase of Majora by basically just jump slashing him with the Great Fairy Sword and it wasn’t that difficult.
Majora's mask sidequests took me years to figure out as a kid lmao. Will always be my fave game.
Best game of all time hands down. Certainly not technically, but the story is so emotional, it will always be awesome.

I remember when i grabbed my copy fron game stop and he asked if I wanted the guide.. I declined while laughing.. Came back in about 3 weeks later and he was there selling me the guide slightly mocking my uh confidence
@@citizensnips2400 Very much technically. Only problem is the sword combat is outdated but then again you can use other forms and it's actually a lot better than botw's weapon combat anyway.
I was never able to figure out Anju and Kefei's quest. It was a miracle I could beat the game at all. I remember being especially proud when I beat the beaver race.

I always play Majora's Mask when I'm depressed. The atmosphere of the game makes me appreciate sadness, I find solace in the themes and music.

Pongsifu. A true champion of gaming. I love how he literally did most of these by the skin of his teeth. Got the orcarina with 5 minutes and JUST GOT the moon tear. Beat the final boss with half a heart. Must say man, I'm impressed, mad respect.
To be fair you can’t get the ocarina until the final hours of the first cycle in the first place, but yes he’s gotten much better

This is my favorite game of all time, it holds a special place in my heart, and I can pretty much equate the whole experience to a crazy fever dream.
I never actually played Majora's Mask blind, I watched Chuggaaconroy's playthrough years before I ever played it myself. So watching someone actually experience those first few days with no clue how the game works was super cool, making it to the clock tower just in time was super clutch. God I love this game.

Oh my god I remember this game, never beat but still count me as one of the traumatized children. I mainly remember the timer being a nightmare and being in a bit of disbelief that the game would actually punish you that much for running out of time. I feel like a lot of early games were like that. I think the souls series really just brought back the fuck you get better mechanics that were widespread in early gaming.
the souls games took it up a couple notches but it was definitely prevalent in earlier games
I hated the time limit and especially resetting all my progress. It felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything. I think this game is a classic example of so underrated it became overrated.
@@shorewall You can slow time with a song and activate owl statues to teleport around the world. The time limit loses importance as you go, its only a problem at the start, before you start unlocking your gear.
Its really not that hard. Im always surprised by how much difficulty people had with this relatively easy game I beat as a child

The mask transformations are just hilarious and mest up.
They are a great representation of the elements of suffering and regret that run through the story. It was awesome to play this after playing Ocarina of Time at release, expecting OoT-like gameplay just to be thrown for a loop by the new time mechanics and darker story.
Imagine seeing those at 8-9 years old back then. XD

Couldn't figure it out as a child. Got frustrated and almost completely gave up on the franchise because of it. So glad I gave it another chance.
Majoras mask is the reason I love horror so much, played the game when I was 10 right after oot and it changed me. One of my favorite games of all time.

I remember when I first rented this game when it released, back when Blockbuster was still around, I was so scared when I failed the third day and the moon frickin killed the whole town lol I told my mom I was scared and wanted to return the game! XD It was scary seeing that as a kid! And when I told the associate why I returned it, he said, "oh don't worry, we get that a lot with this game. A lot of people who rented it returned it early."

If I remember right, this game is weird for a couple of reasons: (I could be wrong about all of this, just wanting to try and pique general interest into this fading cornerstone of old Nintendo)
1. This game was designed with a new story, but re-used all of the same assets (minus a couple of new creations) and engine from Ocarina of Time. This led to a bunch of new theories to the story (this Link is actually dead, this is supposed to be purgatory, ect.) because all of the old characters are now totally different beings.
2. It was made in like 6 months, and wasn't even really supposed to be made to begin with based on Nintendo wanting to get more mileage out of OoT. It was also made with like 4 developers (not accurate, just a small team), so that makes it the equivalent of an indie fan game by today's standards.
3. The time frame and small team forced them to expand really quickly on ideas, some which probably wouldn't have made the cut if they had more time. Kind of like if you are working on an assignment due the day before; you start to make your idea, it turns to crap halfway through, but you would have to start all over again if you wanted to change it, and the assignment is due tomorrow and its 4 AM, so you say fuck it and turn it in as is. (Weirdly enough, some of my best college assignments were turned in that way, so the game gets a pass from me)
This could all be wrong, so take it with a grain of salt. It's just rumors and hearsay that I've remembered over the years as Majora's Mask is one of my favorite childhood games (yea...... I know).
Can we just take a second to appreciate how good the subtitle editing always is.

It's... the first time I see someone fighting Majora without knowing what they were doing. Like, everyone gets at least the Fierce Deity and power through the fight, I personally use other strats, but still, it's the first time I saw someone struggling against Majora
I remember my first fight I just did light arrow spam. Majora is super weak to light arrows.
My first time i somehow beaten majora using the zora form because when he grabbed u with the whip u can use the magic shield to sent a shock and stun him

Maaan, that Unholy War reference hit me like brick. I had that game as a kid but I haven't played nor thought about it in almost 20 years! The moment I heard that name and saw the case box art it pulled one of my heartstrings like seeing the face of a childhood best friend that you had almost forgotten about:) The gameplay would pop in my brain from time to time when Im daydreaming but never really thought about which game it came from. It wasn't my favorite game but the memories of the lonely hours it would fill and the fact that it had a demo of Legacy of Cain makes those memories priceless, it was great re-remembering them

Getting all the masks and doing a bonus side quest in the moon gets you the single most OP mask in the game and you can solo the final boss in seconds.

My Childhood friend was obsessed with Star Trek , Zelda and Pokemon. it reminded me of those days watching this hearing him narrate himself and make akward noises and refuseing me to play it because i would "ruin his save" , good times.

I honestly can't believe you beat all of Majora's forms as just a small man. Didn't have the Great Fairy sword, didn't have the Fierce Deity mask, just a little guy against a nightmare.
