    Thank you so much for this video on recovery. I’m flying from Idaho to Minneapolis for a 2-level L4-S1 next month. It’s the OLLIF procedure with Dr. Hamid Abbasi. You said laying in bed and doing mild leg movements help. I never even thought of that! Thanks so much! Linda

    Thank you Dr. For all your information and videos! I had a level 10 fusion November 16 2021. I fell 8/3/22 ended up getting X-ray that indicates I broke a rod getting my MRI and cat scan on 8/16/22. In your opinion do you think this will be a huge ordeal? I still haven't recovered from the initial surgery! Almost like I have no mobility and still hurt in my hips and legs. Thanks for your time!

      I’m six weeks post L3-L4 fusion. In the first month my pain was excruciating. Now, my pain is more tolerable but I’m still in immense pain when my meds wear off. I don’t like taking medication. Little different I know they’re a must for quite some time for most people.

      @@CatsAreNiceMeow Im sure I'll need L3/l4 fusion some day. How's your mobility being close to mid spine. What's it like? Do you feel better? Why did you have the fusion. I'm only 29 and in limbo I have no idea what to do with my life

    Had L4/L5 Fusion, post surgery was a joke compared to sciatic pain I had previously. Problem is 2 years later I am in pain and have been so assuming my back did not fuse. Looking at revision how can I be sure it fuses this time or gets enough bone growth? Everyone who looks at my CT scan says it is vague?

    • @sm5405
      @sm5405 2 роки тому

      I thought they did x-rays from 3-6 months to see if back was fusing ?

    • @KBradAdams
      @KBradAdams 2 роки тому +1

      @@sm5405 Xrays don't show much except that your screws have no halos and hardware is not moving or shifting but it will now show small hair line fractures or even if you are fused. A CT scan is the best choice for telling if you are fused, Mine was orderd a year after and my surgeon said it was vague... I had others look and say it did not fuse!

      @@sm5405 Yeah it is tough, what type are you having? what area in your back? Mine started with discectomy then went to Fusion. Now looking at revision of the fusion. All I can say is without the initial discectomy I would not have been able to function. Good luck and keep everyone posted. If you get bored and want to see my whole back journey I documented on youtube and will add more if I end up having the revision in a few months. I just want to get closer to retirement if something goes wrong and I can't work.

      @@KBradAdams To my knowledge it's L4-L5 lumbar fusion where they go in through my abdomen. I'm going to need surgery on my neck as well. I was in a freak accident where a guy lost a wheel off his truck and it struck me while I was standing there about 50-60 mph. Lucky to be alive but messed up my back, hip, neck and have TBI as well. Not to mention broken ribs, vertebraes, legs knees etc. That was almost 3 months ago. First month I couldn't walk without a walker and now I get around ok with a limp and can't turn my head much to the left. Im rambling on. I think right now it's just the L4-L5 fusion, then my neck and then my hip. More worried about my lower back than the rest.
