Hope you'll read this Doctor... My Son is 18 , and he had Scoliosis Surgery last week.. The first Doctor told us before the surgery , that he will do a T2 - L2 surgery , on a 70 D curve on the up , and a 55 D on the lumbar , L3 was not possible , because the doctor said that my Son would be not straight at all , with an L3... The second Doctor said T4 -L3 , and he did the surgery like this last week , and this morning after getting out of the hospital , I'm seeing that my Son is not straight at the lumbar , specially when facing him , and this worries me a lot ... I presume i did a mistake in picking the Second Doctor
I have a herniated disc on my lower back and drop foot on my left leg and 4,5,6 on the neck area Doctor said my spine xray showed that the hole is small and said that I need a spine fusion. I don't like to the sound of surgery Would chiropractic help me?Would like your opinion.
Just had S1-L5 Discectomy Wednesday. It is now Saturday and still having pretty decent back pain. Mostly just around the incision site tho. It's getting better and better by the day
😅😮😊
I have bertolottis I just turned 20 last week and it’s literally awful I use to work out everyday and go on runs I cannot at all anymore I can still ride bulls but it’s super uncomfortable
I will never get one and I have spondyloloptosis. I am tired of surgeons throwing off and saying.."You should od had that fixed!" You cannot fix spondy. You cannot get a new spine. There are no guarantees. I had a pars defect and started out with grade 2 spondy
I just found out I have this today after doing a MRI. What’s crazy is they did 2 X-rays and they never caught it smh
Awesome case review.
How you supposed to lose weight when your back is constantly injured
I clicked on your link under contact info as I would be willing to pay you for review of my mris and surgery reports. But link no longer works get error 404 page not found. Do you have an updated link to reach out to you?
I adore this doctor. Thank you for such an amazing video.

Tyvso much on my 3rd surgery I just favorite u. I got a screw loosened in l5 s1 fusion I got last year. Numbness and pain in legs feet intense pain in lower back its been hell i hope it's a easy fix.
Had this exact procedure 6 weeks ago. Pain medication used first 4 days, then ibuprofen as needed I was aware of BLT movements to avoid. I'm pleased with my outcome. Looking forward to the tingling in toes and numbness to disappear
I’m only 24 and they said I have a slipped disc c6-7 mylophy aurthrites stenosis and I’m Gettkng so bad but I’m so scared of surgery it’s all begging with my left arm going numb though it was my heart so it took a while to figure out was going on then neck pain and now I’m dizzy I’m off balance my neck hurts and burns Dosent stop my neck fills very flimsy if I move my head I fell like I’m dying I’m so fatigued and weak Every once in a while my eye go blurry and he said I have 4 out 5 weekness in arms and if I’m sleeping and wake up to stand up fells like bricks like my body fells heavy and now it’s messing with my walking I’m scared I have a 4 year old what are ny option right now 😭 it’s been 2 years since I found out but I’m getting worse by the day
Yeah so none of this was explained to me except the BLT which I unfortunately did not follow to a T so I am not in the group of lala everything is good after surgery 😢
Great tutorial. Truly wonderful advance in surgery and I may be luck enough to receive this life changing treatment soon myself!
Needed cervical injection 4 years ago and unable to have it done due to being over weight. I had 32 plus inch neck and there was no needles long enough to do cortisone injection. Did traction physical therapy and got minor relief. In 2023 in August i returned to same spine specialist with severe neck pain with right upper extremity neuropathy pain. He gave a referral for weight management for my neck was over 30 inches around and over weight. Told me not to come back till i lost 100 lbs. I had gastric sleeve surgery 4-29-2024 and lost a total of 100 lbs since i saw ortho a year ago. The neuropathy in my right side decreased by 75 percent loosing weight and exercise. I returned to ortho in july 2024 and had a mri that showed severe spinal stenosis c5-c6. And need a fusion. Consultation with surgeon and have a plan to return in 2 months have therapy for neck therapy and loose 20 more lbs. I declined cortisone injection for the risk to me was to great for the stenosis is already there and will only be fixed by surgery. Yes loosing weight can and does effect injuries and outcomes. Only regret is not demanding a mri a year ago when the spine specialist told me not to come back till weight loss. I suffered without knowing how seriously my neck was injured probley for years and possibly having further permanent deficits. That was first mri of neck but had x-rays only. If a specialist tells you to get the fat off tell them to give you a proper diagnosis and outcome. For loosing weight is a big part of the process to get the treatment needed. Believe me been there and expecting to get neck surgery in 2 months. I can't wait/ weight no pun intended. 😅 pain medication and nerve pain medication only mask a injury so long i stopped them a long time ago. Listen to your body!!
Thank you for caring enough to find this I’m in a similar position now
If you get a fusion make sure you get the best surgeon you can afford. My doctor is telling me I need a fusion I am trying to hold off another two years.
Dr. I saw you on a Versace runway in Paris. Congratulations your great doctor and a top model
Dr: My neurosurgeon did a lumbar laminectomy and it didn't help me at all. I have severe pain in my lower back and into both legs. I can barely walk anymore..now they are send me to a spine surgeon who will probably recommend spinal fusion..I have severe arthritis in all areas of my back. In your opinion should I have the fusion
I went to the spinal fusion doctor and he said that spinal fusion is my only option at this point
Back surgery is a scam! don't listen to any of this brainwashing!
Back surgery is a scam don't listen to any of these doctors!
I’ve done all that times ten. I weigh 149 lbs now. Lost 50 lbs I’ve seen every discipline times 3 or 6 in every field. I need open minded drs
This is the best explanation of this topic I've seen. My neurosurgeon told me exactly the same thing and talked me out of a fusion. My films showed no instability.
Pain pills work
Over time as your body gets use to pain pills covering over the injury. The injury may not heal and slowly progress and do more damage. Been there took the over counter and prescribed pain meds for years and now in my late 60-s getting lower and upper back surgery in 2 year time frame with neuropathic deficient to extremities. Don't mask the injury with pills. If you stop taking any pain meds and injury is still there don't wait address it with a spine specialist. Minor back injury can heal but continued pain is your body telling you something is wrong.
Yeah, mask the injury and turn into a junkie that steals hubcaps or some shit lol seems like a good plan.

Excellent video, very informative. I had leminectomy some 50 years ago. Had hit in vehicles also. I now have been having falls 5 in last six months dropped gate left side. Seen Specialist Nuro who advised I need L4/5 S1 fussion I have Spondylitis pars fracture, and stenosis T section fractures 10:11:12. Also C 5;6&7 bone spurs been advised to have fussion on neck I am very worried because 72 Diabetes neck gets me both arms fingers . Back goes into my groin buttons both sides can’t walk far need to lay down PAIN UNREAL. Don’t like having to take JUNK to live. On waiting list for fussion however with my luck it will stuff up and make me worse.
So a year for recovery ?
I am researching information on allergy from the metal implanted. I am allergic to it, had a Melisa test, and now, should I have my rides and screws removed? It’s like a taboo topic. No information at all.
Besides the fact that he had the best Drs his surgery was not a fusion. They just "shaved off " a piece of disc that was impinging on a nerve. So it was not complicated. There are many different kinds of spine surgery.
incorrect, Woods did a fusion surgery.
You probably dont look at this youtube anymore man but im just shy 6 months MD L5-S1. Nerve issues probably 85 percent better. Does this continue to improve and how long do you recommend before push ups, pull ups, planks, etc. Thanks.
‘Slipped disc’. ???…..no such thing!
this video has no specific nor answers about typical timeline. :( thanks anyway.
Spinal fusions are out of date for degeneration. Get artificial disk replacement. I have to in lower back. They did them outpatient and I walked 6 blocks the next morning. I flew home from California to Ga on the 3rd day. Amazing. Do your research and don’t let Drs talk you into fusion

Hello, I have a question regarding core engagement. I just recently had a microdiscectomy (5 days ago). And I had previously learnt how to engage my transverse abdominals correctly. My core is at its strongest it’s ever been and have learnt how to engage pretty much all the muscles around my torso (obliques, rectus abdominis, internal and external obliques). I wanted to know how much I should be engaging my core at this time and if there is any danger in engagement at all? I was worried I would put too much compression on my lower back by too much engagement. . Or is it good that I am engaged, I’ve heard it supports your back like a internal corset. Could you advise please?
Don't ever ever get surgery they fix one thing damage the other
Thank you so much for this video. I just went through this. I had symptoms on and off for the past 3 years and finally had it diagnosed. I had minimally invasive surgery to remove the cyst and I had instant relief.
Where did you get minimal invasive surgery?. I have exact same problems

I have all the symptoms of Cervical Radiculopathy (age: approaching 70 yrs). I got my XRay and am waiting to have an MRI done. I've used AI to decipher my neck XRay in the time-being. My bot says that I have evidence of arthritis. "...there are signs of degenerative changes in the cervical vertebrae that could indicate cervical spondylosis or stenosis." I'll know more after my MRI. I want to avoid fusion if I can per your lecture. It would be great if you can send me a link so I can send my images to your for your analysis and opinion.
What about a degerated disc l4 l5 crushing the nerve as well as arthritis in rhe area as well ?
Thank you for making this video. Just had surgery and was not told these important things to know!!
Mine was found in surgury. Was the size of a marble shooter. Massive pain for a year and all the while told I had a L5-S1 herniation because that's what it looked like on scans. Telling people they don't cause pain is iincorrect. Mine was 8/9 for the last 6 months before surgury.
life over
Any paín IS always a signal of DANGER ! created by the brain, not necessarily an indication of damage or injury. Please, beware, please !!!!
I’ve been to 3 spine surgeons, all with different conclusions. The last one recommended fusion on L4-L5. I have multiple stenosis, spondy, facet joint disease, scoliosis, resulting in bi-lateral sciatica all the way to feet. I’ve been seeing a pain management doc and have had multiple RFA and lumbar epidural injections since 2019. The L4 foramen has zero space for the nerve and they are really pinched. L5 has some space for the nerves. So I’m tasked with deciding what I need to do. I’m a 74 year old male, non smoker, no diabetes or any other disorder, and wonder if at my age I should subject myself to a very long and painful recovery from a fusion,,or just live with the leg pain and instability.
Get the surgery.
@@mattgohlke8216 I’ve never worked with or known anyone to have had successful spine surgery where they were better off than before the surgery. Until these doctors come up with a better way to effect necessary repairs without fusion, then I might agree. But after 3 office visits with 3 different doctors, it doesn’t seem possible because I will not allow a fusion.
I got 3 steroid injections and did physical therapy for 5 months and i got from numb left side to a functioning man again seems like i was born with this mutation on my l5 best of luck to all with this hell pain.
Can we icing over the surgery or not?
Yes ice and heat can be used my doctor told me. I had Lumbar Microdiscectomy 4/4 I’m in PA
