I've been wondering about glue compression, but no idea where to start. Thanks for these videos! I'm going to go through all of them!

Awesome course! Thanks for your generosity!!! The way I've been mixing for years is: 1. slapping EQ and COMP on every track, 2. Using and tweaking the presets for each instrument 3. Compressing each instrument to -3db THEN finding equal levels 4. Slapping the Multipress and a limiter on the Master which has its own monitors. Although this process has not failed me yet, I'm always down to learning more streamlined and efficient ways to do things. And what's even better - and MUCH appreciated - is that you didn't try to sell me ANOTHER G*D D*M PLUGIN!!! Ha!

Thank you so much! I finally figured out where to start making a mix. Using your instructions I was able to mix a track from scratch 4 hours to make it sound clean and juicy!

Thank you Colin. I'm in the game having fun only as a hobbyist really, and I very much appreciate you for releasing your free 5 part Mixing Fundamentals Mini-Course. Not to be too corny, on my part, but these valuable tips I can say are analogous to bus compression gluing together what I've learnt so far - in this case the mix bus is my brain 🙂 Pulling up something that was already sounding decent (to me), and after applying some (all) of your tips, just like magic - remarkable improvement, and I still have 5-6 db headroom for whatever I'm going to do next!! You're right - less is more. Thanks.

I actually understood pretty much everything you were talking about apart from when you were talking about attack time. I hardly ever understand anything technical, I'm usually lost within seconds whenever I try and learn anything about mixing as there is just too many buttons to press and nobs to twist and it's impossible to remember such dry information let alone implement it. Thank you for simplifying!

Another good and informative video Colin! Thanks. I have two queries related to your background...Is that colourful guitar something new and is this the first video in which I am seeing it? What is the speciality of the clock in the background? Does it have any sentimental value attached? Love you Colin.

One thing that was giving me a lot of heartburn recently was that when I bounced my static mix, it would come out significantly louder than the song. It turned out that was because the normalize feature was turned on on the bounce window. I don't know if that's the default or I accidentally turned it on sometime, but it was driving me nuts until I figured it out.

At this stage of my mix I see and hear a lot of low mids making it sound muddy. Do I use the same approach but cut the low’s subtlety?

Hey, great video as always BAND GUIDE COLIN!👏
At the end there you said this is a great way to add volume and clarity: “ before we even do anything on our individual channels.” THAT THREW ME OFF HARD. 😂
I’m wondering what you’d have left to do on individual channels you’ve already processed everything on the master bus/tube bus? Thanks so much! Your wisdom in this area is invaluable to my life❤️🥹

Thanks, Eddie! Stick around for the upcoming videos and you'll see! Basically just cleaning things up with EQ, using compression to shape the dynamics, and effects to give a space around everything
