I came across pics of this watch some months ago and so much about it's design and aesthetics really spoke to me so I ended up on the website thinking I might be interested in getting one..... That is until I saw the size, specs and the price. Today it's listed as $875. This watch is way too big and thick for my wrist and tastes. I am assuming since they do not specify the movement that it is a 8200 series. Really?! Mineral glass? This is a $300 watch if we are going to compare this to other offerings that are similarly priced and specced. Put in a Sellita, a sapphire crystal get rid of the date and make it a retro size like 38mm to go with the vintage design and history and take my money. I love that domed dial with those indices. Great looking case and domed crystal. And that crown! Mostly fantastic aesthetics. Benrus please go back for a do-over.

Personally, I think that the date makes it more useful
I wanted to purchase a Benrus because my dad had one he most likely picked up through his military service. But, I could not justify the current pricing. Spot on review.
Looks alone this is gorgeous and the dial is beautiful. I like the size of the crown and the case shape is nice. On mesh it's so nice. But I see why they still have some left still with the small batch. Nice video👍

In my opinion buying company Homages is not necessary! I just picked up a Beautifull vintage Benruss that has a Swiss ETA movement in it for 50.00 Dollars! My Grandmother was Romanian)Ive researched the history of Ben Russ)! Mine is a three star also!

Hi Leo. Love your style and have subscribed. Don't ever change what you are doing. Love it. PS I hope you don't mind but you sound soooo like Cristopher Walken which makes your channel even cooler :)....on the watch I personally like it but the dimensions are not for everyone. A 36mm Diameter and 46mm lug to lug would be ideal.

They still make Benrus??? I have at least 7 Benrus watches from the 60’s. Superb watches. It must not be the original Benrus company

A lot of these microbrands start off as kickstarters and are basically just some college kids who bought the rights to a defunct name, and set-up a website touting all this past heritage that has zero affiliation.
Way too big for a vintage style reissue of a dressier piece, They should have bumped it to 38-39 max. And why so thick, it only has a date?? If you pop off the caseback, you'll see a huge shim around the movement to fit the case. It's too small for the case, as evidenced by how far toward center the date wheel is. I hope they at least used a metal shim at that price. They probably have 40% discount codes for their site that never expire. At over a grand?...I'm shopping Oris, Longines, Tag, Hamilton, Presage etc... I don't buy microbrands anymore, but my cut-off is around 500$ for those.
(Unless it's something like a Ming)

Man. What a bunch of wasted potential. The dial design is so good, but the watch they built around it just doesn’t work. Shrink the entire thing and lower the price, and I’m in.
