Thanks a ton. I have recently picked up a traditional bow - hadn’t held one for years but pretty much lived with one as a kid. I found some nice service berry and am gearing up to make a D bow.
I enjoyed this video very much. I like the way you strung it. Learned that. Also, you sure know how to use tools. Love the dying process too. I see I’m late to the party regarding the giveaways. That’s cool of you.
I’m learning a lot from watching your techniques. I particularly like the way you feel for the thicker spots while tillering. I’m going to try that. Thanks and keep these coming.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Always fascinated by the trial and error ancient builders must have endured in ultimately designing a functional and reliable weapon.
Impressive work! And very well filmed👍🏻 my very first bow was an Elm bow, bought at the Viking fair in Struer Denmark. This was a very interesting watch, especially the video on the Holmegård bow. Keep up the fine work.
I just discovered your channel, and I love your work. That ash is absolutely beautiful. I would die for a white ash longbow. No stain. Just that beautiful bone white wood.
What an Aewsome bow. Really enjoyed watching how you made it I'm thinking about trying it myself, but haven't had the confidence I'm a flint knapper and make arrows, so why not bows. Thank you so much for sharing your skill.
If you already knap and make arrows, you'll do fine with bowmaking! It's got a steep learning curve, as with all handcrafted archery gear, but it's worth the effort and perseverance.
Correy, I must say that you have made quite a nice ash bow. Thanks for taking the time to film the process and share it on the channel. I also appreciate seeing you wear a mask while sanding. Your shooting form is great as well. Taking the time to inspire others to join the world of selfbows and archery in general is great. Keep up the good work! Jason
I'm liking the modern aspect of you bow making. Sometimes we just wanna get to the end product - and sometimes we wanna explore the whole trad bow making process.
Thank You Cory.. Always fun watching you create... (even more so now with my new computer and 43" monitor, omg!!!!). I feel like I am in your shop & can almost smell the sawdust, ha... Until your next show... TM
Man I love your work. Many years ago I made a few bows and far often lost the flow of the grain structure of the wood. Thos gentle and graceful rises and falls of the light bouncing off your bows just excite me. Keep up the great videos and I wish you all the best in the adventure and for sharring your passion and skill.
Hello, how are you, my friend? I want to ask you about the eucalyptus tree. Is it suitable for making the English longbow? The branch I have is straight. This tree has red and yellow wood mixed in color.

I'm liking the modern aspect of you bow making. Sometimes we just wanna get to the end product - and sometimes we wanna explore the whole
trad bow making process.
I'm sure there will eventually be plenty of both methods here!
Really thinking traditional archery is the next evolution of hunting for me. Something about being tested to that extent is extremely appealing.
There's nothing on earth like that first successful hunt with a hand-crafted bow!

That stain looks so good. Just started out building bows, but something like this bow would be amazing to achieve by myself one day!
You can do it! All in good time!

I'm going to try and build one of these. Glad i found the channel.
Great seeing the process, and how the bow takes form. It's there in the wood - you just have to find it!
The stave tells you what kind of bow is inside it! If you force your will upon the piece, it'll usually break.
You inspired me to attempt my first build. I have a few staves drying and I'm so excited to try my hand!
Awesome! Good luck with your builds!
I love watching these builds! You’re inspiring me to give this a shot. I have some shagbark hickory that I have been waiting for the right project. Thanks for making such cool and informative videos!
