I used these settings to help tune a quad that I built on the Phantom Frame that uses as a Vista System, Beta F410 AIO 25a and Rcinpower GTS-V2 1207 5000Kv motors. Flies great on 4S already but these rates and filters just made it better. Thanks!
Very nice Eric! Good to read this tune / filtering also works on different power-trains.. I guess especially the filtering is mostly related to just the frame :)

OMG! I wish i saw this video earlier! I had fly aways on 4S450 which came with the quad, broke arm and FC mount on the first flight in just LOS mode. GepRC support was challenging my flying skills :(. I have been flying 3S after the repairs and it flies great. Now I have peace of mind that it's not my fault. Thanks!

Thank you sir!!!!!! I just received my Phantom HD and was having flyaways on 4s luckily didn’t break anything was testing los and was able to catch it. Pyrodrone and Geprc acted like it was my fault but obviously this is a problem. After updating firmware and following your video it’s now fly able but I am still not confident in it yet.

I gave my first one to my nephew, my second one came with vibrations, I can tell by smooth props in camera you have this one flying good.
My first one was as smooth as butter, was it complicated to update firmware on drone? Thanks for the great information!
@@trowland9575 Howdy man :) it is not Hard, but do take your time.. Start by making screen-prints of every betaflight screen.. Also safe a "Diff All"..
That way you can always revert to what you have now..
And well.. then select GepRCF411 as the firmware image.. and the last version currently available of it..

I jammed the fullsize camera in mine it actually fits in perfect with a ziptie to hold the angle. It's a great little quad my favorite and yes on 4s
When I look at the quad I can't imagine the DJI cam every fitting in it :D :P
grrr.. wish GepRC would make a 3" version of it.. Fun little copter indeed though! :D

Hello, amazing review. I recently got mine and I am trying to set up your configuration to avoid fly aways on 4s but I am a bit confused. Do I need to create a different profile for each battery or with your configuration will only need one profile? Would the changes affect the fly on 2s or 3s? Thanks in advance!
Thanks Andrew and you basically only Need 1 profile.. The setup I showed will already be an improvement on 3S over the stock settings.. 2S I don't know..
But you can keep the stock tune in there as a separate 3S / 2S profile.. not needed but a nice extra touch :)

and welcome to the hobby ofcourse! So the laws differ from frequency to frequency and in the case of this GepRC I flew it on 900mHz.. max 250mW I think where on 2.4Ghz it's 100mW
Basically as lot of tranmitters have a LBT (non US) and FCC mode.. in the LBT mode they should be legal in most of Europe :)

Great video, can you tell me did they updated anything by now to avoid flyaways on 4s, im considering to buy it because of it form factor, babyhawk 2 and geprc smart35 are too much for me...

Hi I see your running a different vtx other than dji. I'm trying to convert mine to elrs but can't figure out how to wire it.
howdy :) yes true.. the one I had is an analogue setup.. Not sure how you'd wire up ELRS on this one but you Should look for ways to wire up Crossfire on this quad (or the flight controller in it).. that should land you at the info you need (ELRS and Crossfire use the same wiring setup)

This all makes sense now. Mine flys great on 3 s but very badly on 4 s.
I’ll upgrade beta flight and try your settings, what are your settings on the new version of beats flight for 3 s? The same as came with stock or beta flight defaults?

Yes.. on 3S I basically flew it completely Stock.. that worked out quite well :)

Personally, I would NEVER use plastic screws on any part of my electronic stack, or rather I would NEVER use them on a quad build. That's like securing your electric bicycle with a piece of twine instead of a bike lock.
You inadvertently answered a question of mine regarding 3S/4S, but I would really like to ask your opinion on an issue of mine:
I built a 4" quad which uses 1408 4000 kv mamba motors and a Flywoo Goku F722 20 x 20 stack, with a Rush Tank mini vtx and a Runcam Phoenix 2 nano cam.
What battery would you recommend?
A 650 mah 3S drains very fast and my 1500 mah 4S seems too heavy. 😔
I am next going to try an 850 mah 4S.
What would you recommend?? Anybody have a suggestion?? Input welcome.

Yeah hmm.. I guess they ment to keep the quad as light as possible.. Regretably them plastick screws are holding the Heaviest part of the quad to the frame soooo.. that won't last :P
Depends on your aim and flying style I would say.. If you want to mostly Cruise fly the quad 850mah 4S should be Fine.. Personally I prefer to keep the quads Nimble so I'd fly it on 650mah 4S (but a higher C rating.. like R-line's)
4s 850mah lipo's is must have get two of them u will use them in many 3 and 4 inches builds not only what you just build.. I have 2 packs from tattu 80c 🙏

Should listened to you first. Crunched a 4s 650 in a flyaway before remembering your changes. At least the quad was ok. I'd been flying fine on 4s 450s prior to and after

@@DutchRC update: I am becoming optimistic on this. I didn't have a 4s 650, but flew with a 525 and no flyaway. To me, your settings flew fine on 3s also. I did enable bidirectional dshot and did the JESC telemetry as well. I was going to try one of my 4s 850s to see what kind of flight time I could get, but the strap was too small. I'll try one next weekend.
@@kurtzFPV the strap being to short is a sign :) (the lipo is to big :P)
But great to read it is working on that side! I'm really not sure why "someone" at GepRC didn't put in a bit of work into this :P BUT I guess the quad would then also have been more $$ ;)

hello sir I have build a custom of geprc phantom using there 20a aio with emax eco 1106 4500kv motors.. the problem is this aio controller is very bad it will runaway when you use 4s lipo's.. this is very bad controller from geprc you can not use it with any 3s more than 550 mah and 4s more than 450mah.. but I will try your bf setting and see if fix the flyaway problem.. anyway its great review like usual 👌🙏👍🏻

I have flown the 4" Dolphin on 4S and that one has the same 20A AIO board.. Could ofcourse be you have a faulty flight controller.. Have you tried different min-throttle-percent settings (top-right on the configuration tab) ?

also see if your flight controller is maybe Mounted very loosely (or very tight)..
Man I'm having fits with mine! Did the fc update and all your other awesome tuning and it flew so good for about 10 packs on the tattoo 450 75c batteries. Then on the next flight it voltage spiked and killed the left back motor within 100 yards of flight. Another interesting fact is that it seems to always burn the left back motor (#3 motor)
that last thing IS indeed interesting.. could it be it's hard to balance the quad out? (not a lot of wiggle-room in battery placement)
@@DutchRC possibly.. I know Gep motors burn out easy because my rocket also burns motors. I'm now replacing with the Betafpv 1205's to see if they do better. My cousin gave me this one to try and fix because he had bought a new one. His new one has been flawless on 4s right out of the box.
@@upnorthFPVandEUC I'm always a bit weary about such small motors :D but I've only really burnt motors I had crashed / didn't disarm soon enough :$

I don't understand why the video quality of the nebula seems way worse than what you can see on the video made by Drone camp rc on the same quad. Any idea why? Firmware maybe? Nebula 1 or 2?

@@kurtzFPV No worries man :) You Could opt to keep 2 PID profiles in the quad.. the main one probably for 4S (?) and maybe a second one for 3S (which could simply be a copy of the original setup)

@@Cinoo90 the lipo? Yep.. enough power in the lipo, but you're making the quad heavy and the motors won't like that weight
