As an owner of a 2004 Honda Accord with well over 300,000 miles on it, I'd like to thank you for this video personally. Not only have you saved me $1000+ in repair cost, you and this video has made it so I keep my job and make it to my classes safely. I don't know what I would have done. So I cannot thank you enough! You have gained a faithful subscriber and I am forever in your debt. While I'm here, would you happen to also have a video of how to perform a proper oil change on a 2003-2007 Honda Accord? THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
I’m glad to know I was able to help! At this moment I don’t have a “how to” on oil change but eventually I’ll get to it. When I do it will be on my “Honda Repairs” Playlist, check that out you may find other Repairs that can help you. Thank you for the feedback 😃
Garage Boys Thanks man! Absolutely! Definitely looking forward to it!
NO NEED to remove the intake manifold and throttle body. Just remove plastic cover from intake so you can see, then with your left hand set the 27mm socket on the sensor by reaching over the alternator, then with your right hand put a eight inch extension on the socket with ratchet wrench under the intake. As easy as changing a spark plug.
Paul Rak what plastic cover? Also I have a 08 Accord, will this work. Thanks man
@@perezote6846 Black plastic cover on top of the engine. removing it allows you to look down the front of the engine to see the sensor
Can you do this with a 27mm deep socket?
Thanks! I’ll try this method.
What about the wire?
THANKYOU BRO! This was perfect I did it al off this video in maybe 30/40 mins save me a ton of money and earned yourself a new subscriber
Glad I could help! 👍🏻
Had a little help but I was able to take my manifold apart and get the job done. Thanks
Excellent video. Really helped me out. Thanks
Thanks for your detail instructions. I have a 2007 Accord and mine was slightly different but I was able to follow your directions and get it completed. Thanks again.
Awesome! If you can please like and subscribe 😊
Thanks for this video. Just fixed my nieces car. It was going to be 1200 bucks.
I have my check engine light on and this is the code I get. I ordered the sensor but did your car also make a whining noise past 3k rpm ? And if it did before is it fixed after. Thank you
thanks for making this video, saved me 295.00
I’m glad I was able to help! If you can, help me back by subscribing and liking 😃
@@GarageBoys done! thanks again
how much coolant would come out of those lines? curious if i would need to top up?
Not a lot of coolant will come out but you should always keep coolant levels at their indicated levels
27 mm wrench open end on both sides of the wrench. Take closed end wrench and get leverage. Thats after you take the bottom splash guard down. 06 CR-V same engine same setup. Can be done from the bottom. Only finesse is popping harness off and on and getting new sensor started. Change mine in a hour. May have took more yrail and error but didnt take nearly anything off and run the risk of breaking clip bolts or gasket.
Hi!! I need your advice.
I did all the removal, now I need to know how can I connect the electric connectors. There is a white part that I don’t known how it goes.
Very thorough! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
I bought new sensor put it in but still getting the code ?
Thanks same problem broke it changing starter😢
Can you use a deep 27mm socket?
Very helpful, Thank you.
If you are skilled you can remove this sensor from the left side empty compartment of the manifold with the head switch.
No not in this model, if you look at the video the manifold has a black plastic cover behind it. That cover prevents any reach to the sensor through or around the manifold, i believe only the 2003-2004 models allowed you to do that
Yea I have the plastic cover so your 'skill' wont work here
Do you have to bleed the car after since you lost coolant?
You don’t have to bleed it, just refill your radiator
Did you use an OEM Honda knock sensor? They are about £150 here in the UK. Have seen much cheaper knock off sensors and wondering if they are worth trying?
Aftermarket sensor will work fine but May not last as long
Bro i wanna see how u did that sensor crimp
Does anyone know where the knock sensor is on 2013 Civic lx? Bank 1, P0326.
Will I have to do same for 2009 honda civic sedan 1.8 engine dx?
I’m not sure where exactly is your sensor located
can you go from the bottom to remove the knock sensor?
I don’t believe you have space for that.
i see thank you
Garage Boys do you have to remove the 2 lines that have antifreeze? i heard you say kinda remove..
Yes, they are 2 small lines you can see them at min 5:12
Garage Boys did u torque the manifold to spec when putting it back together?
no certified
Same thing with v6 right? No difference?
I believe it’s different
Think you should have videoed the whole process rather than only saying and doing s before and after shot..
The whole point of me watching this video was to see what kind of connector is used for the knock sensor so I can replace it..Yours was broken as well 🙄
🤦🏻♂️ try the same fix I did, it worked for me
@@GarageBoys does it still work
Damn...you really don't know what you're doing Lol, waste of time remove all that and could have damage others. Only need 10 minutes to replace just the knock sensor
LISTEN YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE CAMARA ALONE OR DONT MOVE IT TO FAST
