My Daughter is also Motorhead...... She fixed up and drove a 57 Pontiac, 89 Supra, 80 Mercedes, 91 Miata, Now a Mitsubishi Lancer Oz Rally. We go to car shows, junk yards and auto swap-meets for fun. .
+fupabox My son is not a motorhead. To him; cars are a necessary appliance. I believe we are born with certain inclinations that can be nurtured;.... but if it ain't there it ain't there.
My son and I built a 1970 Mustang together. It was the best time of our lives. I urge anyone that has a child. Do something with them, maybe it's not a car or a motorcycle. You will not regret it. Congratulations
We need more fathers like this man. To have a son like this is also a blessing. He does have a bright future ahead of him. This video is seven years old and im looking forward to seeing the next video of this duo.
Wow what a great father and roll model. You can see how good he’s been raised just in how he talks and thinks. Growing up working on projects that you love not only teaches invaluable life skills but it also teaches that if you love what you do then even if you put in long hours you are never really working because you love what you do. Take it from someone who has been on both sides of the fence having a job that made great money but also made me miserable and then a job making ok money and being happy to wake up for work loving what you do makes life worth living. Great video.
Even I share a similar relationship with my father. We both are motorcycle enthusiasts. He loves classic two-stroke motorcycles. Before I was born he used to own a Yamaha Rajdoot 250 but sold it later for some reason. Thanks, Petrolicious for capturing these types of stories.
+88thetruth88 I couldn't care less about how much a car costs, I doubt this kid would either. You don't drive money around. The looks of a car and the driving experience are what gearheads care about. I'm envious because I've never been in a position where I could worry about what my car looked like. Modern Beetle engines are often quite a bit more powerful than what was offered in the 356.
+88thetruth88 For all intents and purposes, a 356 is basically an early Beetle, there's not a whole lot of meaningful differences between them. This kid is building a what is basically a 356 replica, so the driving experience and the looks of the car will basically be the same. Later air cooled Beetle engines can be made to be quite a bit more powerful than 356 engines because there is an enormous amount of aftermarket support for them.
+88thetruth88 It's not the same car, it's a replica, of course it's going to be different! I said MEANINGFUL differences! Even the unique parts on a 356 are very similar to Beetle parts, there's no MEANINGFUL difference there. Fuck, man, what is your problem? What did this conversation accomplish? What was your goal?
+fupabox Girls are also non-existent to those nerdy kids play who too many video games--and usually that doesn't change. Those kids are losers. This kid isn't. He builds REAL things, not blocks in minecraft. He'll have plenty when he gets older.
+kirbyswarp I play video games and build computers and anything small engine . I'm 14 nearly 15 trying to get a 1986 fiero gt to work on before I turn 16. My problem is money and trying to get a job. no one in my family is a mechanic except for my uncle who has lost interest. I may be one of those kids who play too many video games but I actually do shit.
Wow, thank you very much for the kind words. I am a lucky man to have such a great kid. Putting in the time and being there for him made a world of difference in who he is now. We still have lots of fun doing things together. Thank you.
+CycleCruza I did the same thing haha. I had a friend who's parents let us use their welder and other tools, so we built all sorts of vehicles in the pursuit of speed.
I also put a lawnmower engine on a bike but it is a 18hp vertical shaft briggs intek on a 1974 indian me 100 and it's almost done, been building it for about a year now and she rides great and looks great too cause it's soo unique being as it has a vertical shaft engine. I use to never even like motorcycles till my brother passed away last year and he loved riding them all the time so I figured I would try to make one even though I only build computers and have never done anything with an engine.
Petrolicious, please revisit this little guy after he's built the 356 Outlaw. And maybe have a shot of him towing the 110 on a little trailer. That would be awesome.
Watching this made me regret not having this type of relationship with my pop - this was one of your best videos guys (says me with a lump in my throat)
Haven, l'm sure you recognise how blessed you are to have a father that supports your natural talents and inclinations. I did too up to my desire for a motorcycle. He forbid me to have one as long as l lived under his roof. As soon as l left home and saved enough money l bought my first bike. It was 1971 and the bike was a Bultaco Lobito with a 175cc 2 stroke engine. Weekends and many week days after work l was riding on one of the many makeshift dirt tracks in the Atlanta area. I love your story as well as your bike. It looks and sounds great. I'm 70yo now and still ride. I've got a 1969 Honda Super 90 waiting for attention right now.
This video brings such an amazing story! Truly a great tale of a Father and Son sharing a great deal of passion for Cars and Bikes.... That man right there, might be the coolest dude and father I've ever seen..... I wish them both the best of luck and Success!!
It's videos like this that make me believe that the parent-child relationship is still alive. Growing up, the time spent with my dad was the best and the fondest memories I have today. And with my first child due in a couple of months, I was worried if I'll be able to have the same relationship with my kid or they'll grow up and jump right into a cellphone life. Now I know there's hope. And that it's all up to me, to decide whether I want to be the dad a child would want to hang out with. So inspiring!
I'm very proud to see a father and son going thru this together. I have a 5 year old son who started at the same time as yours. He and I are always in my shop together. He's my shop rat. I love it
Dad`s pay attention ...this is how you do it, son`s (and daughters) try to be the kid that deserves it! Fortunately I had that kind of dad, but when it came my turn to be one ...I fell short, regret it everyday and there`s NO REWIND! Thanks to you BOTH for sharing, hope it impacts a lot of people, and I`m sure it will! God Bless!
This is one of the greatest father-son videos I've ever seen. What a fantastic story! Petrolicious is just the very best UA-cam channel in existence. Thanks for wonderful stories like this.
I wasn't planning on crying today, when they said he won 3rd place, I gotta say I got a little tear. Amazing story. Dads around the world should pay attention.
I have had a similar relationship with my dad all my life and I know this... if you can take a step back and realize and appreciate it while you're both still in the living years you have been blessed.
That is a father son relationship out of a dream. My father was abusive, and always told me my dreams were dumb and that if I wasn't working or making money, I wasn't truly living. This has changed my attitude, when I have my son, THIS is how I will raise him. Raise him to like the amazing father this man is, not my real abusive father. If I couldn't have the dream childhood this son was blessed with, I will bless it to my son when he is born.
What a beautiful inspiring film . I absolutely love it . Such a gift ,your skill ,your son. Your shop is unbelievable ,it's blow me away . Please do more. Thank you .
Great film, what a beautiful relationship they have, you can see the pride and love they both share. Want to learn a lesson about living for every moment? Get it here.
I wish me and my dad could do something like this. I'm 14. We could but we have very limited space and my dad has really awkward shifts and is either busy or asleep a lot of the time. We have enough money to do it but it would be a dream.
Great story. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you're not frying your brain in front of the TV all day. Excellent father-son dynamic -- I wish I had that sort of relationship with my father at his age. Hopefully he encourages his son to focus on his formal education as much as honing his mechanical abilities.
Great video! My dad was and is an alcoholic, I say was cause I managed to help him reduce the level of alcohol he consumes, it was a nightmare. I have lived with him for several years, I fell in love with classic cars, bought my own and he taught me about mechanical work. I have always wanted to have a father like the dad in this video, this kid is very blessed, lucky, to have a dad like him. However, I love my dad and I will always be grateful that he gave me the knowledge to work on cars and right now, I'm working on my first motorcycle :) I'm subscribing thanks.
So awesome and so inspirational. My daughter loves everything I build, time to start teaching her how to do it. That young man has a bright future ahead of him.
I have to admit I'm a little jealous of this kid. My old man was a gearhead too but he never wanted anybody in the garage with him so I lost out on all that time learning from and bonding with him. So I had to learn from my high school auto shop teacher and he showed me how to get my first car (a 71 Road Runner) to do 200mph. Funny thing is then my old man wanted me to help on his builds.
Brought back a lot of sweet memories. Thank you so much for this video. This gave me a lot of hope today. Heart felt best wishes to the father-son duo. I hope they get to keep doing what they love.
Great story. I am trying my hand at a model a restoration in a carport myself, at 20. That kid is very lucky, wish I could have a mentor helping me along the way.
I remember trading up from a Sears minibike to a basket case Honda C-100 it was like something from another planet at the time, thx for this one it brought back some dusty memories for me.
I did not have a close relationship with my father and it still saddens me even in my mid fifties, but the cycle can be broken! I have three sons and we ride dirtbikes together and are still very close. The best times are still when we are together.

+Mr. Johnson does she like jelly beans?
What girl doesn't like Jelly Bellies?
+Mr. Johnson Very cool...my daughter -in-law wants nothing to do with cars..maybe one day I''l make a motorhead out of her :)
+fupabox My son is not a motorhead. To him; cars are a necessary appliance.
I believe we are born with certain inclinations that can be nurtured;.... but if it ain't there it ain't there.
+Sean Baxer
My daughter is 24, she does as she pleases.
If you saw & knew her, you wouldn't make flippant snarky remarks like that.
That's a father doing it right!
+WikdSeafood Are you kidding me !!! HE IS A SUPER DAD
every petrol-heads dream right there. Building your house around your garage and spending the days with your son working on bikes and cars
My son and I built a 1970 Mustang together. It was the best time of our lives. I urge anyone that has a child. Do something with them, maybe it's not a car or a motorcycle. You will not regret it. Congratulations
So is this what it's like to have a real father?
really good one! lol
OreoThePanda 😢 that's how I feel
I think he lucked out in the poppa Dept !
it is helpful
I feel you bro :)
no
Nice to see this friendship between father and son.
We need more fathers like this man. To have a son like this is also a blessing. He does have a bright future ahead of him. This video is seven years old and im looking forward to seeing the next video of this duo.

Haven is so lucky to grow up with a cool dad like that.
A 356 outlaw in his teens? This kid is living my dream.
+idontcare80 yeah.....damn lucky kid.
+88thetruth88 Not really a whole lot of difference there.
+88thetruth88 I couldn't care less about how much a car costs, I doubt this kid would either. You don't drive money around. The looks of a car and the driving experience are what gearheads care about. I'm envious because I've never been in a position where I could worry about what my car looked like. I wonder how much different my life would have been if I had a Dad in it . Mark you are a rare breed.
Watching this, my son said. "so that's what it's like when there are no girls around " I had no answer to that :)
lol
Hahaha
+fupabox Girls are also non-existent to those nerdy kids play who too many video games--and usually that doesn't change. Those kids are losers. This kid isn't. He builds REAL things, not blocks in minecraft.
He'll have plenty when he gets older.
+kirbyswarp "nerdy kids play who too many video games" This isn't the 80's anymore you know.
+kirbyswarp I play video games and build computers and anything small engine . I'm 14 nearly 15 trying to get a 1986 fiero gt to work on before I turn 16. I've been jealous before, but this is a whole new level.
Mark Jarel -- I love my dead dad but he NEVER was 1/2 as fun as you.
I'm happy for your son.
Wow, thank you very much for the kind words. I am a lucky man to have
such a great kid. Putting in the time and being there for him made a
world of difference in who he is now. We still have lots of fun doing things together. Thank you.
Mark Jarel you should start a channel of you building stuff.i dunno
I tried to build a motorcycle when I was a kid, put a lawnmower engine on a bicycle. lol
+CycleCruza at least you tried.....
+CycleCruza I did the same thing haha. I had a friend who's parents let us use their welder and other tools, so we built all sorts of vehicles in the pursuit of speed.
I like your channel too
Even if the project failed, it's the fact that you Tried that matters.

i wish i had a childhood like this kid
Same, it was exciting so hear their story
we all do
one of the best petrolicious video imo
SPProduction02
That is the sweetest bike I have seen in years!
Petrolicious, please revisit this little guy after he's built the 356 Outlaw. And maybe have a shot of him towing the 110 on a little trailer. That would be awesome.

+Chris Dooley Perhaps one day you will get to be the father in this sort of relationship. It's something a lot of us want, I dare say.

perfect example of father son, automotive family bonding.... truly inspiring...
You guys never disappoint. There's a lot of heart and soul in each of your videos.
This video brings such an amazing story!
Truly a great tale of a Father and Son sharing a great deal of passion for Cars and Bikes....
That man right there, might be the coolest dude and father I've ever seen.....

As a dad, this is one of my all time favorites. Well done. Truly a great bond between them.

This is pure perfection, no tv, all human joy, a pure life between a parent and his child 😃
I have a niece like that. Brilliant kid, great dad too. Look out world, there is hope for their generation. With the right parenting.
Wow........................................... Thats one switched on Father and Son! Hats off my friend, hats off.
I'm very proud to see a father and son going thru this together. I have a 5 year old son who started at the same time as yours. He and I are always in my shop together. He's my shop rat. I love it

This kid is way ahead of his age. Good on his father for nurturing his passion.
This is one of the greatest father-son videos I've ever seen. What a fantastic story! Petrolicious is just the very best UA-cam channel in existence. Thanks for wonderful stories like this.
This is the coolest father son combo!!! Their living-customizing layout is amazing
Parenting level 9000. This kid is amazing for sure!
I wasn't planning on crying today, when they said he won 3rd place, I gotta say I got a little tear. Amazing story. Dads around the world should pay attention.
One of the best Father . Son video's I have ever seen. Nicely done Petro....
This man and his boy have the best possible situation going on. I'm so envious.
I have had a similar relationship with my dad all my life and I know this... if you can take a step back and realize and appreciate it while you're both still in the living years you have been blessed.
lol, the kid even knows what an outlaw is, damn this kid is going to be crazy in 10 years, I'm sure we'll see some interesting builds from this kid.
what's beautiful about this is not the show u have put on but the beautiful relationship between a dad and a son u guys have built. :) .. loved it
I'm totally moved. What a great story. Well done Petrolicious, Mark and Haven.
What a great dad. Thank you for sharing your passion.
That is a father son relationship out of a dream. My father was abusive, and always told me my dreams were dumb and that if I wasn't working or making money, I wasn't truly living. One of your best films - and that's saying something. An inspiration to us all.
That's how they start young. Great job, Dad.
I've gone to school with this kid for about 4 years now, a really special kid!
Great film, what a beautiful relationship they have, you can see the pride and love they both share.
Want to learn a lesson about living for every moment? Get it here.
+Tony Horner You rock Tony. Thank you.
+Mark Jarel no worries dude, thanks.
I'm 26 and this kids motorcycle destroys mine...Great video, very inspiring!
A trophy, great ! ....

The DEUS Bike Build Off ??!!
You're better than most of actual pro-builders !
Awesome story, that kid will have a very bright future if he keeps going on like this! Good luck to both father and son.
I wish me and my dad could do something like this. I'm 14. We could but we have very limited space and my dad has really awkward shifts and is either busy or asleep a lot of the time. We have enough money to do it but it would be a dream.
Absolutely wonderful video! That boy shows a great passion, energy, and charisma for his wonderful talent.
Fantastic. Particularly about tv/games consoles. That's probably like a dream upbringing for a lot of kids.
The world need a lot more people like this. Truly inspirational.
Nothing like a good father and son project - great video.
Can I just be re-raised like him? Haha, what an amazing kid.
Great story. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you're not frying your brain in front of the TV all day. Excellent father-son dynamic -- I wish I had that sort of relationship with my father at his age. Hopefully he encourages his son to focus on his formal education as much as honing his mechanical abilities.
Great father.. We should not create the path for our kids, we should direct and let them create the path..
Being around the same age as this kid, I'm now much more inspired to keep on building things. Another great production from Petrolicious!
Great video! My dad was and is an alcoholic, I say was cause I managed to help him reduce the level of alcohol he consumes, it was a nightmare.

Amazing!!! I have the same relationship with my dad and its one of the best things in the world! Hope they continue doing what they do!
Dad, great job raising your son. I can't wait to see your sons car. Congratulations to both of you. Wish you both the best.

So awesome and so inspirational. My daughter loves everything I build, time to start teaching her how to do it. That young man has a bright future ahead of him.

Nice to have a Good father in your corner.
Father & son together as a perfect team you cant get better im so jealous
That was an amazing story. I am really looking forward to seeing this young man's future projects. I admired how humble he was too.
Endless what a kid can do when he has a father that there for him and no hold bar. ..it's a dream of any child to have a buddy
Great foundation for an inspired, creative, wholesome and sturdy adulthood. Awesome.
Great story. I am trying my hand at a model a restoration in a carport myself, at 20. That kid is very lucky, wish I could have a mentor helping me along the way.
this left me speechless. wow
This is the "dad & sun award of the year"...nice to see that!

What a cool dad, cool kid and awesome story!!!
This is the greatest thing I've seen in a while. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Petrolicious for sharing this story with us!
Honestly one of the coolest stories i have ever seen. hope you guys can share his car when he finishes building it.
this is so inspirational that it's almost depressing to see someone so young surpass many of my own ambitions
That's parenting done more than right!!! Great video!
