As an Indian, I completely resonate with Simon Doull's comments about the players thinking about the paparazzi more than just playing aggressively when needed. I think they will need to learn from the likes of Aussies, english, and the Kiwis at times. They are lethal even when they are 3 down for 60.
It's different for India as Australia and England celebrate other sports too and the support is equally distributed and hence even if they lose in cricket they find something to celebrate in other sports. But in India/Pakistan's case(or every Asian country for that matter) they play cautious as they can be the reason for their nation's pride or be the reason for shame. Till cricket is the spotlight in India, I don't think the brand of cricket is changing anytime soon
@@frafmaud Hardik Pandya should play at 6 or 5(according situation) rather than at 4. Because we need some fire power batting. We can't rely on Jadeja at all . We should not expect Jadeja to finish like other contending team's players at that place are supposed to do(aus, africa, english). Kuldeep Yadav is likely to be trump card of India in this wc. But i am sceptic and bit cynical about him . Because he is too slow in air and most of the balls which he bowls are leg break and fall short enough to hit into the stand for stoinis , tim David, miller, klassen , buttler . And some time too full into slot coming to in for right handers and might be dangerous India's perspective if batsmen like Bairstow , Roy , Marsh , Maxwell . The best players are from Indian Side: Rohit, Gill, Kohli, Bumrah, Siraj, Jadeja . But Pandya has to step up .. Thank you.
@@More_calmed well i agree to your view to a extent but its not just the fans, if you had a chance of looking things that happen in pre and post match analysis the only thing tht is shown is Virat Kohli, his best innings, what he thinks about the team, his interviews, his gym workout. It is all about Virat all the time and thats one thing that needs to change coz 11 players require equal attention.
Sad to see West Indies not there but awesome to see the Netherlands make it. With a few South Africans, kiwis, Englishman and a few home grown players; this Dutch team is starting to become a sound cricketing side. They have a handful of players playing county in England.
Sad!! You must be joking , it's all self inflicted . Remember they got beat by TWO associate teams one of which Scotland receives zero games or series against full nations and a pittance compared to West Indies from IC C . It's anger I feel that they can't run WI cricket but still get everything.

Suprised Klaasen wasn't talked about as a major key player for the Saffas. He's been dominating the white ball game this year, showing a consistent ability to maintain higher strike rates than nearly anyone while scoring big. I have to say I agree with Doull. Just look at that South African squad, I honestly believe it’s the best squad at this edition of the World Cup they have everything, good spinner in Shamsi, good fast bowlers like Rabada, a guy that can anchor the innings in van der Düssen and power hitters like de kock, miller and Klassen.
In truth it could be any one of a number of teams. England have won the last two icc world cups though in odi and t20 so they have the experience in their squad even though they don’t seem to be clicking at the moment
"Their batters dont bowl and their bowlers don't bat" That's soooo true when we look back at India's 2011 WC squad, half of the Batters could actually bowl. Yuvraj, Raina, Yusuf Pathan, even Sehwag and Sachin could bowl couple of quality overs. Only Batters who couldn't bowl were Kohli and Gambhir.
Atleast india should have had one batter who could bowl, i don't understand why these young generation of indian batsman don't actually learns to bowl, this is really sad and i am sure it will effect India's performance in this WC
Absolutely agree with Nasser Hussain! when we get into the knockout stages pressure builds up bcz of the expectation that people have and after loosing a wicket early our batting lineup sort of gets into damage control mode of which the opponent takes advantage taking the game away from us, this explains why we have been getting eliminated in the semi finals or finals of major ICC tournaments even after dominating in the group stages. important thing to do is stop being obsessed with winning the world cup (that will only build pressure on the players in crunch situations) shut out the noise, focus on the process and eventually the trophy will come
Goes on to show why Hussain was a captain who turned into a commentator. He has an accurate narrative to each ball. Vaguely remember when he was announcing England’s first wicket against India which was only possible because of Jadeja. He so cleverly described the event as Jadeja was the fielding substitute.

India , Australia and England are gonna be the teams to beat, they will definitely be the favourites, but Pakistan can be very lethal in the sub-continent conditions if they get the momentum they can get to the semis, and Sri Lanka too can surprise w/ there quality Spin bowling 💪🏻🇮🇳

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will not be a cake walk. They will give the tough fight because of the subcontinent conditions. They have shown quality in spinning the ball. So, don't just write them off especially Sri Lanka. And One X factor you missed about India is Kuldeep Yadav. He is very lethal right now. Also NZ will look altogether different in Kane's captaincy. His enormous experience will play to the gallery plus boult has created a difference in the bowling as we've seen in the recent clashes against Eng.
@cricketmadness8588 Yes, they do not look like minnows now but you see they are not finishing well. They would have easily win the Ind, Pak matches in the Asia Cup an over or two before but they somehow flunked and losing against Ind and winning against Pak in last ball. So, they struggled in the beginning and somehow got back the control in the middle like big sides but choked at the death. So, if finish well they are great at the game right now.
According to me the major problem from indian side which they are not aware of that, there are no player in the team called finisher like dhoni Or yuvi, we have depth till jadeja, but you can't expect always an allrounder to win matches in a critical situation from bat. If india's gonna be out of the tournament, this is going to be the exact reason. But i hope it doesn't come to that
Man, those two were insane finishers! Yuvraj was fire and Dhoni...Dhoni would walk in and absorb all the tension, he'd slow everything down and then just hit the balls out of the effin park! Maybe Hardik will be a good finisher for the team.
The problem with India is if they're 10-3, who will grab the game and drag to a decent total of 250-280? A lot of bowlers can't bat and vice versa. Plus, KL and Hardik are injury-prone. If they get injured who's the replacement? Rohit is not the same Rohit that we're used to. So there's a concern with the opening as well. There is a huge amount of pressure on Kohli as always. Chances of India winning it are slim.
I think you should organize cup like Asia team such England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Ireland etc watching eyeballs increased👍👍👍
Wow, what a blunt outright conversation was this, Doull was spot on as to what INDIA as a team lacks, and it's not pressure, or expectations it's stats just like Simon Doull pointed and it has been the case for a decade now, on the contrary team's like SA, AUS, ENG have been playing dauntlessly and 350,400 runs are just a norm, whereas Indian players are too obsessed with themselves and their stats exactly what Gambhir said, its high time for India to change their intent just as England did after 2015 world cup.
that's not true, our batting style is different but, we have scored the most 300+ scores in ODIs. Our problem is not intent, it is the middle order not being very reliable. out top order is not stat padding, they stay on the pitch because the middle order is weak. if they were stat padding India would never score 350+, which we have done the most in last decade. The thing that Nasser said was right, maybe not the batters who can bowl part but, the bowlers who can bat part is right. if we have reliable batsmen at 4,5,6, and 7, the top order can show some intent, while one of the top order batsmen can play through to make sure the team reaches 350+ on a pitch like Wankhede, 280+ on pitches like in Dharamshala and 240+ in pitches like Chepauk.
For India to play fearless brand of cricket, Indian fans and media have to behave maturely.. One bad loss and they will pelt stones at players and roast their family on social media platforms.. So Indians can never play fearless brand of cricket..

Couldn't agree more, and it's been the case for a decade now, they are too obsessed with their averages and stats.

Bavuma is also excellent in odi
Markaram is also match winning player
They just need hardik like allrounder
Marco jansen is not no 7
Don't expect too much from them. They choke at crucial times.
Maybe this time 😮
In truth it could be any one of a number of teams. England have won the last two icc world cups though in odi and t20 so they have the experience in their squad even though they don’t seem to be clicking at the moment
But they won't win winning is more important than having a good squad
"Their batters dont bowl and their bowlers don't bat"
That's soooo true when we look back at India's 2011 WC squad, half of the Batters could actually bowl. Yuvraj, Raina, Yusuf Pathan, even Sehwag and Sachin could bowl couple of quality overs. Only Batters who couldn't bowl were Kohli and Gambhir.
Yaa we don't have any good all rounder except Hardik. Jadeja and Shardul are not in form.

Bangladesh defeated favourites last night 😂😂
Watch last world cup of BANGLADESH 🇧🇩
It will clear your doubts 😅😅
@@nazmussaqib9647 that's what I said bangladesh is a good team, last time also they defeated South Africa in the wc
NZ only shocks when they getting seaming and overcast conditions. They never perform well in Asia.
rightly said. this worldcup will be very competitive expect aus, england India and one of pak/SA/NZ/srilanka in semis. if some viewers bring afgan/bangladesh they are naive.
I am really sad or unfortunate when Indian media, also somewhere International media mix up, T20 and ODI. India lost T20, but they are better team in ODIs. I am glad the Gentleman pointed fearless cricket issue in Indian cricket helps mentally boost.
I miss Rishabh pant in middle yar he adds more value for us in World Cup fire power is missing.
Knockout matches m collapse ho jati h Indian team sabse badi dikkat to yhi h 😢
Wonderful Discussion and Fair assessment by Foreign Former Cricketers for upcoming world cup..❤❤❤❤❤
Yes
Pakistan does not have quality spinners but India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan do.
Indian conditions don’t seam and swing much. Their main strength is pace seam bowling. Pak does not have enough spinners, and the batting looks a bit weak now
Simon Doull is absolutely correct about Indian team approach 😢
How can people ignore Bavuma just see his records in odi this year
Pure gentleman discussion..
Naseer is a class..he's voice quality and critical judgement sounds so nice
Spinners lead Sri Lanka in this World Cups ..
1996 - Champion
2011- Runnerup
Again India Subcontinent
Srilanka don't have kumar sangakara, murli, mallinga, Jayasuriya, theese kind of players..
They can upset any team
@@rahulchoudhury5635 they literally won 2022 asia cup dude. They are in finals of this asia cup without hasaranga, kumara, madhusankan, rajapksha
@@rahulchoudhury5635don't need now sanga, mahela, murali and others because young talents are good for it.back to back asia cup final showed it🤷♀️👌
@@amilaperera812 srilanka is a good team... Bt in world Cup they way behind the top teams like Australia, India, England, Newzealand, south Africa,
So they can surprise any big team.. Bt can't reach semis..
What's about the 50 all out in final.. Their technique exposed in seaming conditions..
Bro im sorry but sri lanka will not be a cake walk at all they probs will beat aus sa and nz in those conditions
@@uttampandey1492 yes true and I feel if we had guys like wanindu that would have been sorted but rightnow this the best we could find
Nasser Hussain is a great man... He talks with facts and figures 😊
2:46 Exactly Sirrr! That's the problem, Great you addressed it
The problem with India is if they're 10-3, who will grab the game and drag to a decent total of 250-280? A lot of bowlers can't bat and vice versa. Plus, KL and Hardik are injury-prone. If they get injured who's the replacement? Rohit is not the same Rohit that we're used to. So there's a concern with the opening as well. There is a huge amount of pressure on Kohli as always. Chances of India winning it are slim.
Yaa even though they performed well in Asia cup but world cup is like ocean our chances of winning World cup are very low
I think you should organize cup like Asia team such England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Ireland etc watching eyeballs increased👍👍👍
Yes and call it everyone else cup😂
SENA Cup
Call it mini wc 😂
Call it non asia cup 🙂👍
We do lack fearless cricket. Great point
One team confirmed to play sami-final, that is black caps
Wow, what a blunt outright conversation was this, Doull was spot on as to what INDIA as a team lacks, and it's not pressure, or expectations it's stats just like Simon Doull pointed and it has been the case for a decade now, on the contrary team's like SA, AUS, ENG have been playing dauntlessly and 350,400 runs are just a norm, whereas Indian players are too obsessed with themselves and their stats exactly what Gambhir said, its high time for India to change their intent just as England did after 2015 world cup.
Vo bhai tu semifinal and final ka average scrore deko 250 bi nai hota hai ..😅
India has scored the most number of times 300,400+ scores .....lol
that's not true, our batting style is different but, we have scored the most 300+ scores in ODIs.
Lol we have more 400+ than eng aus
In recent years our team is beating aus in aus
Eng in eng by 2-1
Honestly feel the surprise will be Bangladesh, they have the perfect balance of youth and experience and their subcontinent record since 2015 has been the best amongst all Asian teams, I can see them getting to the semis and a big team loosing out a spot
Not enough to win the whole thing. Yhat would be real underdog story. Certainly can through an upset unlike 20 years ago as the whipping boys
@@kurtsudheim825 losing to Bangladesh isn’t an upset anymore, the only country to beat them in an ODI series since 2015 has been England, I wouldn’t be surprised if they sneak into the semis, but agree perhaps a step too far to win the whole thing
Sri Lanka may well cause a few upsets along the way...
They like beating England, especially in 50 overs World Cups
Sri Lanka is looking good after atleast half a decade now, insane timing too
@@andrews418 I reckon the hard choice but potentially a deciding factor would be to drop the skipper and bring Angie Mathews in as the finisher... who has ample experience of beating England amongst other things!
@@monke7929 it's the hope that kills!
Don't count sl out, they have team full of serious quality spinners, who can trouble any team on a given day.
my four simifinalist India ,England ,Australia and New Zealand
favourite in final it is India and England and India will definitely lift this world cup
India's Achilles heal is facing a left arm inswinging bowler who bowls 140kmph+, especially in knockouts, the right hand top order batters are essentially free wickets and in no time the score card is 10/3 or 15/4 and the game is over on the first 10 overs, a strong left handed opener is what India lacks after the exclusion of Shikhar Dhawan
Current India team - no chance but I think NZ/ SA can surprise 😮
