Cannot thank you enough, followed word by word, works perfect, fitted ebay £15 special from china, all in perfect working order, do it yourself its easy when you follow the instructions by the the god of nissans, cannot thank you enough , a brilliant mechanic who made it so easy, Kind Regards
Thank you for the very clear and informative video. Managed to get a used part from a scrap yard. Don't think I could have done it without damage without this video.
This is a great video. If you are having problems with you passenger airbags and you light constantly flashes, there may be a very simple fix at no cost. My 2008 Nissan Frontier SE stated my seat occupancy sensor wasn’t working. I tried to reset that annoying blinking light to no avail. Before I took it anywhere to be repaired, I dug deep into all the connectors and wires which were all good. However, moving my seat back and forth a couple of times, I noticed the cable leading into the seat where the mat inside the seat was pinch on the rail which the seat slides back and forward. Moved it clear and made sure it wasn’t kinked and everything is working fine. I did need to reset to get the light from flashing. My Foxwell diagnostics unit shows no fault and airbag is fine.
Excellent video. This has saved me £100 which my local garage asked for to fit the squib i had bought.More power to your elbow mate, and thanks very much for sharing.
Don't suppose you have a video on how to replace the steering wheel inserts for the audio control etc etc ? My phone button still not working after replacing the air bag squib.
Thanks a lot mate, also for anyone needing to reset the Airbag light after: - Turn ignition switch from OFF to ON. - Air Bag warning lamp is on for 7 seconds and turns off, the turn ignition switch OFF within 1 second after the lamp turn off. - After ignition switch is turned OFF, wait for more than 3 seconds. - Repeat steps 1 to 3 twice. ... - Turn Ignition switch ON.
Fantastic help. Thank you. Got it off with little problem (2008) and after 12 years of ownership I find I have an adjustable steering column 😂 bonus! Time to play mind games with the Mrs. Thanks again.
I’ve just received my replacement spring. Off eBay. The sellers post states it fits my car. But upon receiving it, it has another socket where I’m guessing another plug would go in for duel steering remotes…just hoping it doesn’t impede replacing it now. Great informative video
Very nice work Rob in replacing the clock spring and great job in explaining its operation. And nice to show the fault at the end of the video. Keep up the good work and have a great weekend! 😀👍
Thanks Wyatt. I like to tear into something faulty to find out why.. Always did as a kid. I realised when editing that I didn’t explain/prove the problem and luckily I hadn’t emptied the trash.
Tripped on the channel by chance from your comment on an Edd China video. Giggled hard with you cringing with Nissan due to 8 weeks shipping from Amsterdam, good content! Cheers from Portugal!
Cheers Mike. I'm lucky I suppose cause back in the 90's when I worked at a Peugeot dealership I had to change hundreds of clock springs on a recall, so I got used to having your ass twitching when taking the airbag off 👍
As long as you disconnect the battery and wait several minutes you’ll be fine. Since there still maybe a little power stored, you can turn your headlights on a bit to ensure no power is anywhere in the system to trigger the airbags. Good luck. I’m getting to replace my clock spring on my 2008 Nissan Frontier SE.
Two points from my experience of doing this. One, there are three similar but different parts available. Two, be careful when fitting the indicator stalk, there is something which works the self cancelling. I missed it and now have do my own cancelling as I can't be bothered to strip it down again.
Hi Rob, i came across your channel, as i have a 2009 Nissan note which has a flashing airbag sign now. You say to disconnect the battery before starting the job. Unfortunately, i don't have the code for the radio, so if i disconnect the battery i will lose the radio. Instead of disconnecting the battery, could i just take all the fuses out, but leave the radio one in. Of course i will take photos and make drawings of exactly where each fuse goe where. Your thoughts will be apreciated. Many thanks, Oz.
Nice to see this come apart. It must be frustrating to have all those hidden plastic tabs to find, without breaking any. Fortunately these steering column and multifunction switches seem to be robust. Given all the moving parts I would have expected more problems.
My car has a solid airbag warning light constantly on I've had it in garage and they can't find the fault with there diagnostic scanner thing what one would I need to buy to be able find the fault they have checked fuses an cables under seat for any loose done the ignition on off thing that's not worked any ideas please mot again next week so need try get it fixed local garages are full so can get diagnostic test done before the retest date
@@lukegiduz I used a couple long thin screwdrivers, like the ones used for electronics, to push the tabs inside the holes on the back of the steering wheel. It takes a surprising amount of force to push those tabs in, and you have to use something pretty stiff. My first trys were with a plastic tool and it just bent. Good luck! And happy new year
very exquisite explanation gent ... it could not be explained any bettaah, koodos goes to you seah! for your knowledge has sprog me out of dependency and stiffer rates of repugnant and scrupless mechanics. there foah , I saluted you inconsiderately . best regards to you seah .
Hi Rob, I managed to fix my airbag thanks to you. I didn't know where else to post this, but I have a new fault with my Note 2007 it's an auto 1.6. I have a rumble/drone at speeds over 25mph coming from the front end that's worse on tight bends, it's not the wheel bearings as I've changed those any ideas as to what it could be? I think it's getting gradually worse. Cheers 👍
hi What a great video. I followed your very clear instructions and replaced the clock spring. i have a new problem. once i fitted the replacement the esp and slip indicators come on. what did i do wrong 😅
Thank you so much for taking me with you. By following to these istructions It should not be too difficult for me to solve the same issue of my P12 Wagon than you did. If I was not able to get a new Part, I 'll try solder it. What you think? Greetings from Helsinki.
Can I use the clockspring from a Nissan Tiida in my Nissan Note ? ...where did you order your part from having trouble locating the proper clockspring for my 07Nissan Note
Thank you for this amazing and very helpful video, well done. Why should I take my car to a Nissan dealer to rip me off, with your help I can do it myself following your instructions step by step so help me God.
One Auto, had that on a rover 75 sold by a used car dealer in thrapston many years ago, didn't like it when I turned up and put the clocks on his desk lol

Hi Rob, firstly thanks for this brilliant video 👍 I've just run a scan on my mums 2007 Note and I'm getting B1049 Driver Airbag Module - Open. I'm ordering a clock spring, but what I need to know is, is it safe to drive even if the light is flashing, will the airbag go off while it's being driven due to a fault? Cheers 👍
I have a Nissan qashqai 2015 with a remote key and when I turn it ON at he airbag light is solid and doesn’t flash. Even when I turn the engine on the airbag light is solid. Could you help me out?
Check all of the connectors and wires good under the seat the ensure you have good connections and the none are being pinch on the seat slide rail. I discovered that on my Nissan Frontier and all is good and no codes any longer. The best part is I got rid of that pesky light.

why do people take their cars into garages with their low petrol warning light flashing ive watch loads of your videos in particular where the low fuel lights actually flashing.do they think all mechanics have a side line selling second hand petrol.
You may have a bad connection under the passenger seat, or you could have a pinched or broken wire that has been pinch on the seat slide rail from moving seat forward and back. That’s what happened to me.

Really well done, Rob. I like the tip for removing the steering wheel.
Good detail very comprehensive
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. It made it a breeze to do the job myself.
Many thanks for this - it worked a treat & saved us paying a garage to sort it 👍👍👍

Yes there’s always the fear of snapping the plastic on modern cars
I really appreciate it. It was very helpful while i replace mine. Thanks!
Great video . Quick question if I were to just remove the pin from the air bag would the light in the cash go away because my light is always on
No. The only way to do it would be to fit a resistor
Very lovely video. Thanks for sharing. Well done.
What tool were used to do this want to make sure i have everything
Thanks
Really enjoy your videos Rob. Keep up the good work.

Thank you mate.same problèm .buttons on the wheel are not working.sape car model same year.😊
Do you need to remove the battery when working on an airbag as I know Bodgit And Leggit says you don't.
For the purpose of following the Nissan manual and the video.. yes you do.
(But I’ve done it without 😉)
I would play it safe and disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes before doing anything with airbags.
Thanks Sir,...its clear for our guidance in order to fix all of steering facilities problem. 👍👍
Nice one. Even a bonus footage with a teardown and scientific analysis. 😅
😂 Cheers Joe
