How to Redeem a Home Depot Gift Card on Website (and Use It To Buy Something)

My Canadian gift card number doesn’t work on the US website but the card says it’s redeemable in both the US and Canada. Should it not work?

Do you still have to link a credit card if the gift card covers the total purchase amount?
