Ed Mosher made me an arrowhead a few years ago at the Parke County Covered Bridge festival out of some beautiful flint ridge chert. It took him about 5 minutes to make, and is some of the best knapping I have seen in person.
Wonderful work, really enjoyed watching you. Years ago (mid 90's) I was able to see some Danish flint work friends in Oregon had. They were from Denmark, and lived on a farm half a mile from the Holmsgaard site where the old bow was found. They didn't have a dagger per se... but a nearly perfectly square shaft about a 10"- 12" long and 1.5" - 2" square. And I mean square!! Beautiful "stiched" corners. As I recall one end looked almost like it was a digging tool.. or some utilitarian tool. Now days I would have just taken a picture with my phone, LOL. I was somewhat confused by the tool because it looked like a very large dagger handle, with out the dagger. I told them it was amazing work, and wanted to show it to some other to knappers I knew, but they thought I was overly enthused. They considered it a rather mundane object, but yeah, Jesus wasn't a hero in his home town either.
BEAUTIFUL work sir! I thought that stitch line in middle of the handle could only be done with magic, lol, but you are a master and a magician! And things
I just started napping on Christmas Day. I slung my Billet and hit my Danish spot and will probably be limping until New Year's Day. Awesome video great napping. Nappy New Year's everyone
Really great knapping friend! I didn't know Georgetown was our closest to actual Flint here in the USA.I sure know I love working it.Thanks for the knowledge
Of course he's not gonna spend 2 days or however long it'd take to grind this by hand when he doesn't need to. Does he strike you as someone who has anything to prove by doing it entirely by hand? As if he hasnt made hundreds of these without modern machines in the past?
if you made a few hundred of these you'd use a few time savers, believe me. grinding by hand, which i am sure he has done, takes hours of elbow grease.
He has his freedom , he can make his own choices , the work is very fine , try it some time , work I mean - what he does is his art , you are acting like a critic , and a sophomoric fool , he didn't lie to you. Tawdry

Where on earth can one get a piece of Georgetown flint that size? I'd be set for months.
I've never seen anything made by flintnapping the size of that obsidian dagger.
What lithic technology complex did the electric grinding wheel come from?
Simplesmente de. Luxu

Hi there, beautiful work, how much would you sell one of these blades for ??
Is it still flint-knapping if you use obsidian
Yes
How much does something like that go for?
Holy shit ... they did put Humpy Dumpty back together, again, but much more poorly than expected.
Ledgend
Do you still make these?
It needs some adds. When i stab something with it i would be afraid to slip with my hand into the blade and hurt myself.
How far are you from fort wayne?
Its a shame that you cant buy a whole lot of georgetown flint these days
I need a knapsack
Amazing work! Get those fingernails checked out by a doctor though.
Can I have it? I promise I'll tell everyone you made it.
That's a stupid question unless ur gonna pay for it lmao

Ya cuz they had dimond grinders hundreds of years ago pfff
I WAS WITH YOU UNTIL YOU TURNED ON THE ELECTRIC GRINDER AND PULLED OUT THE HARDENED STEEL FILE ; THEN ALL AUTHENTICITY WENT OUT THE WINDOW
if you made a few hundred of these you'd use a few time savers, believe me. grinding by hand, which i am sure he has done, takes hours of elbow grease.
