I ran across this in the early 2000s when I was a teen. I saw it late night on vault disney. I used to jam out to this. I actually learned the dance and did it.
I saw this during the original run from 1977 and used to play it when I bought the soundtrack! Even imitated the dance steps and eventually got them down!!! Even to this day, I still treasure those memories!!!!
I had the soundtrack, the '70s era mouse ears,(colored, not the standard black. mine were blue)the lunchbox, the TV Guide cover they did....i was all about TNMMC!
I love this song and dance number! good thing I have the song on record so I can listen 2 it anytime i want. Now if only DISNEY would put this (and the rest of the show) out on DVD....
I agree that the show should have aired later in the day, probably between 4 PM and 5 PM , the show had a lot of talent and should have been in production longer than it was, 6 months was not enough time for it to catch on.
This sequence was also seen on an "advance preview" of the series during a November 1976 episode of "THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY" {"Happy Birthday, Donald Duck"}.
Oh man. No kidding! So did I. I wonder if the NMMC album would be available on iTunes. Who knows? And I have to admit that NMMC was even much better than the original one because of all the colors, and even the different people. All the mouseketeers were great! :)
This was first seen on the November 1976 "WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY" show promoting the new "CLUB" {via color kinescope}- this was seen from time to time during the regular series...
hm. I was glad I was a kid for the 90's MMC when I first started playing this, but after that dance I gotta admit it probably woulda' been kinda fun watching this as a kid! ;p
I like the pants and had my share of them back then.. In fact, post-MMC, I had 12 different colours of "Dee-Cees" painters pants in high school, and later had about 6 different colours of Ralph Lauren jeans in the 2000's. As a kid in a middle-class family, I grew up a "Sears household", and kids were dressed in these 2-piece shirt-and-pants or shirt-and-shorts sets themed a colour accented by black and white. In Australia, many women still wear brightly-coloured pants (during the summer, at least).

@chrissmith7513 Even though we're from different generations we both have fond memories of this and that's awesome.
Great vocals, great dancing and great orchestration!
This is so wonderfully 70's! I think I owned some of those clothes!
Kelly and Shantee are really goin' for it here! And I love Nita's hair toss.
Great vocals and dancing by the Mouseketeers, plus blazing trumpets and lush strings.
I love the little robot dance at the beginning 😂
Julie Piekarski has got some moves!

1:50 Just me or anyone else noticed, only *Lisa* and *Shawnte* found themselves the right place. All other had to reorganize their positions

Did anyone notice that Julie was also on facts of life with lisa in the first season. She was Sue Ann Weaver.
Her full name was Julie Pieskarski and she played Robert Duvalls daughter in The Great Santini
@Mysterycat74 They all had rhythm. This was an excellent dance routine.

Mindy never got to do the Mouska-dance :(
yeah, she is conspicuously absent from all the dance routines. had no groove aye?
Neither did Todd.
No Mindy and no Todd ( who was super cute and was a young actor in the 1976 movie , " Burnt Offerings. "
Oh man, Lisa Whelchel is both ham and cheese, and I mean that in a nice way.
I'm leaving this comment here, so maybe after a week or a month or a year, when someone likes it, I get reminded of this awesome show.
do it !!!
that is so funny!!
@ivegottaheadache I figured as much. Thank you for the confirmation! :-)
@jeff38de I believe Todd is in this piece. LISA, and Mindy are missing.
naturalpro2003 Todd and Mindy are missing.

1976? I was thinking 1977 or 1978.
1977

I quit drugs in the late 1980's but I'd kill for some hash right now just to get me through this abomination.
LOL. robot dance SUPER CRINGE
This has to be the most embarrassing dance ever! I applaud the Chinese kid for actually having rhythm though!
Mysterycat74 That was Curtis Wong.
He ain't chinese. He's from Vancouver, Canada.
Yes, but he's Chinese descent.
