Pro-tip if youre playing this deck. If you have alot of triggers on the stack, if you grab and hold a card from your hand, the animations will resolve faster.
Most will probably know this from the shortened beginning of turn draw animation when holding a land impatiently while waiting for their opponents turn to end haha
Game 1 you probably should've reenacted the crime on the atraxa that they put in the graveyard to refill your hand. Mightve bought at least another turn.
57:23 you can Reenact the Brass's Bounty first, then Reenact Thousand Year Storm with the treasure, allowing you to Flick a Coin for three draws and 4 mana. If the timing is right, you might even be able to Negate the Leyline Binding they have waiting, though I don't think that will pan out. Likely doesn't work, but at least gives you a shot.
Yes, so many fun crazy things that card can do. I think my favorite Thousand Year Storm win was decking everyone with Kynaois and Tiro of Meletis. I was playing Jeskai and that was someone else's commander. I first cloned it, then made a non legendary copy, then upped storm count with treasures and draw, and finally cast clone legion with 50+ copies to get a few quintillion copies. That seemed like enough; we probably should still be resolving triggers to this day.
@@patriciaboggs8882 I have a Veyron deck with thousand year storm. And eye of the storm. Eye of the storm causes the copy to be cast. With Veyron and those two, opt gets cast, put under eye, cast - twice, because Veyron - then copied and cast twice with 2 copies each (thousand counting the first cast + Veyron). Another draw spell, now it gets copied 6 times, then eye casts it and the opt twice with 4 copies each. Now I've "cast" 8 spells. Grapeshot. Get 16 copies from tys, eye, CAST 2 more grapeshot for 36 more damage from 2 grapeshot + storm count plus 18 more copies off of TYS. And one more spell before grapeshot pretty much wipes the board. Hard to pull off without one of those enchantments getting killed beforehand, but so damn funny when it works.
25:34 When you said "Brass's Bounty. Brass's Bounty. Treasure us!" I could not help but think of Charlie's Mother mewling "Money me. Money now. Me a money needing a lot now." from S8E6 of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
Torch the tower has a mode which deals three damage. Also, an against the odds combo deck that I'd love to see and hass a better chance against mono red is aristocrats with Raise the Past and thr new blood artist.
These last weeks we have been eating like kings in the against the odds/much a brew/budget magic videos with all the nostalgic Foundations janky build araunds :')
The first video I ever saw of you was back in Guilds of Ravnica when this card came out and you built a deck around it. Thousand year storm has been one of my favorite cards ever since!
Seth with three thousand year storms: 7 mana make net three treasures seems like our best play here, we don’t want them destroying one of our thousand year storms 😂😂 love the vid!
They printed so much storm without naming it storm, it's hillarious 😂 last time I played standard was War of the Spark with - you guessed it - Ral Storm combo. Was it good? No. Was it fun? At least for me. Guess I am making a return to standard
I've had Flick a Coin being an All Star in my Zada Deck (cards and mana for each creature I control? Yes please!), but this seems even better. I had to target my creatures with the damage, but you're getting mana, cards, and damage. Very cool.
46:27 Which is why you should have cast the flick a coins before the reenact the crime after Brass's Bounty - because while the original flicks would have done less, thy were effectively free (cost 1 total mana between them) and would have been in the grave for the copies of Reenact the crime to grab and replay
It would be sweet if Wizards would print a fixed storm mechanic. Name it “squall” and have it only count instant and sorcery spells that the controller cast.
Wicked, I've been trying to get the card working since it dropped. I hadn't considered Reenact the Crime! Making it right now. Although I am pleased how similar my deck is to this one considering I'm not a very good brewer.
Reenact the crime can steal your opponent spells in graveyard too. You could have killed atraxa and stole it. You could have set up powerful steals from thevmill deck too
Love this card and this deck!! I will say in the first game after the genesis wave , maybeeee you could reenact the crime the Atraxa they put in the yard to hopefully draw a few cards?
Thousand Year storm has been one of my favourite cards for so long. Izzet stormless cantrip decks that rip through your deck and kill opponents with lightning bolt
I still think a gruul build could work even if 3 color couldn't. The landramp just looks sooo tasty and the treasures should be enough for storm, plus an island or dualland for fixing.
I love thousand year storm my favourite arena deck uses it with mythos of iluna to make a bunch of token copies of it and then storm of. I recently been working on an edh Version of that deck
Quick question, would Case of the Ransacked Lab be good in this? It gives mana reduction to all your instants and sorceries, and solving it will just keep giving you more gas.
I actually saw a deck like this from kcryle, great idea for a standard deck but i dont think i have enough rare wildcards even though i have a few thousand-year storms... :(
Seth, for Burst Lightning in the intro, you shouldn't use that token image. I had to wait until you showed the deck list again before I knew what it cost/did.
Seth: “What is this weird ramp deck? 🤔 “
The opponent watching Seb hard cast back to back Brass’s Bountys: 😵💫
Game 1, me yelling "Reenact Atraxa! Reenact atraxa!" While I cry on the inside. It lit up like 5 times too
@@maximiliangunther9597 as he's saying "we need card draw" like bro cmon now.
Also saying he can't defend Ral when opponents cheapest creature is a 4 mana 2/2
i was actually screaming i cant believe it
Seth is... not actually that good of a player. He gets his head set on something and goes right for it, no mental flexibility at all.
@@ReyosBlackwoodThat doesn’t make him a bad player though. That does make you a lame neckbeard who cares way too much about a card game.
Flick a coin is genuinely one of my favorite cards so I'm happy to see it finally getting the love it definitely does not deserve
🤣🤣

Im a simple man. I see thousand year storm and i will click the video.
I will click the video once for every spell cast this turn

@@tedwasanasan3805 borderless from double masters 🤤
Redcat posted a video with thousand year storm if you're interested I suggest you check it out. ;)

Yeah, I was thinking the same
Been waiting a thousand years for this
for this storm?

Protip for anyone looking to brew a Thousand-Year Storm deck: This deck LOVES Mindsplice Apparatus.
Had to pop in as soon as I saw my favorite card featured. My favorite way to win in Commander is Thousand-Year Storm + Insult/Injury + Lightning Bolt.
Yes, so many fun crazy things that card can do.

21:01 The “heap your harvest” joke made me laugh out loud after like 2 seconds of it setting in 🤣
the fact that his goal is to flick a coin 20 times is just sending me, seth you're a monster
Less of a flick, more of a railgun.

This is the type of deck that you secretly hope pops off sitting on the other side of the table cause getting janked out by storm is awesome.
Bring do-nothing red-based enchantments are always my favorite against the odds episodes!
You can also discard Storm to Explosion or Seize to reanimate it with Reenact the Crime.
Now imagine someone flicking you in the face 20 times and not wanting to rage quit
Game one, why the heck did you pitch the Reenact the Crime instead of the Brass's Bounty when Reenact can be Brass's Bounty for cheaper?
Reenact the crime is an INSTANT, I feel like seth forgot that throughout this video.
Torch the tower has a mode which deals three damage. Also, an against the odds combo deck that I'd love to see and hass a better chance against mono red is aristocrats with Raise the Past and thr new blood artist.
I remember making your emergency powers storm deck and going on a winstreak. I'm so happy to see 1000 year storm again

Im so happy that genesis wave, mazes end, and thousand year storm are all in standard right now.
I remember facing a Thousand year storm deck when I first started playing Arena. I still remember the animation as it made me draw my whole deck.
Fun deck, Seth. In my video, I found Mindsplice Apparatus to be the easiest way to pop off the same turn you play 1k Year Storm.
27:00 You can press spacebar to confirm an option instead of clicking if there is no target. This should save you some clicks.

Missed a chance to call this deck "Thousand-coin Storm"
28:21
Hitting us with that King Arthur counting
Enjoyed it very much, may try this out sometime.
I like to splash white just for lightning helix, so fun when you get a few copies of it with thousand year storm
It would be sweet if Wizards would print a fixed storm mechanic. Name it “squall” and have it only count instant and sorcery spells that the controller cast.
Injecting 400 ccs of jank directly into my spinal cord
One of my favorite cards ever for commander, along with Arcane Bombardment.

As someone who’s using Ral or Narset in brawl I appreciate this video alot
46:48 *Only My Railgun starts playing*
32:00 Pyroclasm only gets outscaled by prowess if the opponent triggers pfowess defensively. And that's unlikely.
Reenact the crime can steal your opponent spells in graveyard too. You could have killed atraxa and stole it. You could have set up powerful steals from thevmill deck too
"Im gonna heap your harvest" - I bet you will Seth, I bet you will

43:43 “The ol flick and burst”
I'm surprised the deck doesn't use any plot cards. They feel perfect for a TYS plan.
This is my favorite kind of deck to play
So like I'm just gonna steal this for myself
Thousand Year storm has been one of my favourite cards for so long. Izzet stormless cantrip decks that rip through your deck and kill opponents with lightning bolt
I love Thousand Year Storm! It's my favorite card, even if it's basically always terrible
that 1 damage from the painland was fucking hilarious. game was done anyway, but still an hilarious punt.

I would go Temur with that Land Dryad Token Spell
O fair maiden, allow me to heap thy harvest.
"We are going to flick your coins so many times"
sweet deck Seth!
I had a Thousand Year Storm deck back before alchemy destroyed historic, but it was Grixis with Torment of Hailfire as the finisher.
I hate when my mighty Savannah Lions is felled by the flick of a coin.
Seth been sounding sick for a bit. Hope he’s taking time to nurse himself back to full health. Feel better fam! ❤
I'm just happy seeing Seth play Grabby Giant again lol
Anyone know where i can find the list for the deck he played against in match 1?
This feels like old modern lol. Burn is viable, storm is a deck, sometimes you win by sideboarding
You can do something similar with Arcane Bombardment. Have both out and TYS will trigger off of each exiled spell separately.
27:50 "I think this should be Lethal." Ya think?
I love thousand year storm my favourite arena deck uses it with mythos of iluna to make a bunch of token copies of it and then storm of. I recently been working on an edh Version of that deck
Is there room for Mindsplice Apparatus in this deck?
Are there fogs in standard?
Probably, but fogs are pretty terrible in 60 card formats
Fuck. Thousand year Storm would go hard as shit with arcane bombardment
I played Thousand Year Storm yesterday. 🤔 If only I would have waited till today
Slick sequence might fit well in this deck
14:48 the second brass' bounty is mana neutral so...
Storm 10 is the highest I got with Ral emblem, will be fun to see how high you get
Just finished the deck tech. Looking forward to seeing Seth mill himself out with Flick a Coin before he does 20 damage to his opponent.
1000 year with Heroic Reinforcements is where it’s at. I play it in explorer.
Flick a Coin was the card of this video
You can use the giant as a draw engine with the infinite mana of brass bounty.
Ever against the odds video feels like ramp or control with an interchangeable finisher.
Quick question, would Case of the Ransacked Lab be good in this? It gives mana reduction to all your instants and sorceries, and solving it will just keep giving you more gas.
Having actually gotten the chance to watch the video, I recognize that the Case is actually too slow for this deck.
Why no Storm-Kiln Artist??? Isn 't it on standard yet?
glad they fixed the problem with thousand year storm on arena. the animation whenever you cast a spell was such a stupid decision.
@MTGGoldfish is it time to ressurect the Heroic Reinforcements Thousand Year Dream?
And I kinda want to see a deck build around Twitching Doll to make a bunch of spider tokens
At 10:50 you could take atraxa. You didn't see that move
Apparently Zap and Flare needed an upgrade. And now it's Standard-playable!
Hey it is Seth better known as MTGGoldfish.
That second game made me giggle
I actually saw a deck like this from kcryle, great idea for a standard deck but i dont think i have enough rare wildcards even though i have a few thousand-year storms... :(

I generally don't watch standard videos, but you can't just *not* watch a Thousand Year Storm deck 😌
Don't forget that Grabby does a card draw and could block even at 15 life
I was wondering what was taking Seth so long to put out another 1000yr Storm deck XD
Surprised Ral and Stormchaser Talent aren't in here.
Oh. The Ral is in sideboard. Still would have thought is main deck worthy.
Doing full art cards during a deck tech is sort of counterproductive. I forgot what Burst Lightning did... 😅
This video heaped my harvest big time
How about Hit the Mother Lode over Brass's Bounty? All the more treasures AND more spell, while color cost is negligible because of treasures
We don't want to hear nothing about Seth's Flicking and bursting 43:43
You laugh, you lose a lung.
Targeting opponent a thousand times is the most annoying part of this combo by far. Probably best to have something like bolt wave as your wincon.
