Gintama is my favorite anime of all time. I really found myself through that show. I definitely recommend it. It can make you laugh super hard and cry all the water out of your body, in a single episode. It's a comedy anime that has a recurring serious story.
The stupidest I remember that got me crying laughing was that pube incident at the barber 😭

Guilty Crown opening is one of my favourites, and as a side note, music/songs from this series are so awesome. Not to mention how mind blowing when I got to know that the singer for this OP was only 15 year old.

Guilty Crown for me at least also had a super cool ending since it wasnt the normal (small spoiler i guess) happy ending but the anime took the mc literarily the most precious thing from him. The ability to see the girl i forgot the name of.

You probably cant tell from the opening but Cowboy Bebop is a legendary 90s anime that is set in 2071 and is really futuristic yet has a nostalgic feel. It's a really cool combination of old animation, intergalactic adventures, soothing music, and each episode is an independent story that focuses on a certain character, genre, or idea. I definitely recommend you check it out when you just wanna chill and watch something new.
I've been thinking about watching it for years after I saw my older cousin watching it one time. I have a feeling I'll really like it but I don't have enough time to watch it now

Gintama is like the japanese version of South Park or Simpsons but mixed with storyline, fights, and a lot more stunning things. And it's the one Anime you can say - This one is totally different from everything I saw before. Gintama is part of the japanese culture as well. 🔥

So with Berserk, it's one of those stories that hasn't had a really great adaptation of the full source material. If you aren't against manga, couldn't recommend it more. The mangaka (the guy who made the manga) is a incredible artist, and it's such a shame that he died before being able to finish the series. But everything that we did have from him was astonishingly great

Steins Gate will hit you in the feels, in a sad but good way. One of my favs. It is not possible not to binge the entire season in one weekend. It is not recommended to start watching it on a work or school day, you will lose track of time. (Pun intended.)

I highly recommend the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood openings and also the Madoka Magica opening and ending. The opening is really light and colorful, but the ending shifts to a really dark tone. Both songs are beautiful though

EGOIST, the band that did the guilty grown opening is absolutely amazing. They were created especially for the Guilty Grown anime, and are even in the anime itself as a popular band in that world. Although they were made for guilty crown, they did also make a couple songs for another anime, called Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress.
Sadly, since they were made for a single anime, the band doesn't have many pieces as the lead singer had left to pursue other things shortly after their work on Kabaneri.
Kinda late, but this opening is actually supercell with Koeda, the ending is the one you're talking about. EGOIST is basically supercell with Chelly as vocal. So even if EGOIST doesn't have that many songs (they also did the EDs from Psycho Pass besides Kabaneri) supercell is always amazing, they change vocalists quite a lot like with EGOIST but they usually have the actual band name. I imagine EGOIST was a special case because of the context of the anime.
EGOIST makes alot of music? Besides making 4 I think songs for Psycho Pass and 1 for the Iron fortress they also made 2 songs for build divide as of thus year and 1 for fate. Plus being futured on other songs and some non anime songs
Alright boys and girls, I think I had a fucking stroke when I wrote that.
1. The opening in question was in fact, not Egoist. I was thinking of opening 2, "The Ever Lasting Guily Crown". Opening one, "My Dearest" was done by Supercell. I'm not sure where my brain mixed the two. Apologies.
2. Egoist has actually done a good deal more music since Kabenari, they simply stopped for like, a year or two. And that's where my info came from as that's when I was mainly into EGOIST. In other words, my info was severely outdated. I apologize to any who I may have misinformed.
I think I was really tired when I wrote that comment. Since I have a tendency to binge Nicholas' content at 3 am.

guilty crown is still one of my top 5 openings to date, its just that energy to it that anything else has yet to match. the full ver and the piano ver are just as good.

I love how you described Stein's Gate's OP as experimental and weird because it's anime is also weird and all about experiments. And its story is also nothing you've ever seen before. Like, I can count on one hand the number of animes that has a concept and story like Stein's Gate's.

In the 1997 version, in fact, they also cut a lot of things, the philosophy is not quite clear there, and apparently they forgot to add the end. This version is not bad, but it does not reach the manga.
You genuinely have the best reactions on youtube. Almost nobody is trying to hear the entire song. If you can avoid copyright claims by having good quality sound but just cutting parts of the song then that's perfect. Your formula is amazing and so is your energy
Man, the gintama openings are all really good and beautiful and nostalgic, but they had absolutely nothing in common with the anime itself xD
The entire FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood soundtrack is so astounding and I highly recommend them.

Man I almost cried when the gintama opening showed up. My favorite anime of all time, saved me from suicide 15-16 years ago. And the show only got better with time.
Also you said you don't care if it sucks or it's amazing, but I just want to say. It's meta as hell (gintoki reads shounen jump in the show and makes references to dragon ball, bleach, naruto, one piece, all that shit) and so understanding japanese humor, references and other anime would probably greatly enhance your appreciation for this show.
Think of Gintama as the Troll version of Deadpool, except he's kind of a bum after retiring from a life of war. None the less the show also has some amazing bloody scenes and deaths that made it so fucking memorable. The movies are some of the top rated of all time on My anime List.
(Edit, noticed at 8:40 we got a tiny bit of samurai heart, that ending is also super nostalgic to me.)

YESSS!!!!! It goes stupid, especially the full version.
I get the feeling you'd probably like Death Parade. The series itself is a bit depressing, but the opening theme is surprisingly happy and energetic. The result is that the theme acts as a tonal palate cleanser while binge watching

Episode 9 is definitely killing it...
Guilty Crown is one of the first animes i watched and until now i still think it's one of the best anime ever. The ending is bittersweet but…but the story…the plot…it's wholesome

It honestly makes me happy to see someone just getting into anime and anime music, because it really is a unique form of media and you both see and hear things in anime that you will never see anywhere else. I remember being so blown away by how anime looks to the point that it almost ruined western cartoons for me, the quality and artistic expression was just on another level and even at like 10 years old I was hooked and never going back. I feel like tons more people would love anime if they gave it a shot with the right first anime, they just have to see it.

You just said what I wanted to say...thank you. Yup, we just need to give a little push with the right method that person will definitely love it if they give it a try. Anisongs (Anime Songs) are the only song in my playlists all of the time cause it just very hard to get the feels from other songs in my opinion (You opinion my be varied by mine). So yeah, if you want to try, just ask you friend to recommend shows you might like because they know you personality and the way of your thinking about something.

If you like the hxh opening then you should absolutely listen to the shows 2nd ending "hunting for your dream". It's by the same band that made the opening. Listen to the full version though, it's incredible. It's power metal so I think you'll like it quite a bit. They're often called the Japanese dragonforce.
If you like energetic and rock openings, you can't go wrong with One Punch Man's intro. One of my top 3 anime's of all time, and the music is outstanding in the show itself. Emotional sometimes, and energetic other times. I highly recommend checking out the intro at least lol. Love the reactions! Always looking forward to your content now.

I am getting so much joy experiencing these songs right along with you:) Based on the stuff you really liked, I think you should definitely check out "Wild Side" from Beastars, "What's up, People?" from Deathnote, and "Kyoumen no Nami " from Land of the Lustrous. All totally different genres from swing to rap to death metal to classical. Oh and definitely check out the ending to Hunter X Hunter called "Just Awake" by Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Domestic Girlfriend has one of the most banger openings ever, highly recommend! Also, Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) opening is a must. Probably an acquired taste but it's so strong that you can't just ignore it if you watch the series.

First opening comes from Berserk, a work that has deeply marked the world of manga. Unfortunately none of its animated transpositions has ever made the idea of such beauty and depth, so I highly recommend reading the manga
Wrong, the first anime version made is really good. Then they did a new version and those are absolute garbage.

Steins; Gate is actually one of my favorite anime series. It seems relatively unassuming when it starts out, but the suspense and creepy factor just keeps growing and growing until about half way through it turns into one of the most gut-wrenching anime experiences I've ever had. Really great show.
As for other anime openings, I highly recommend Noragami. Both the season 1 and 2 openings are absolute bangers.

Actually Guilty Crown opening is one of the most romantic songs ever written. You should check the full song. The lyrics are pure poetry. Supercell is the group and the song is called my dearest. Check it out with english subs. :3

I suggest you react to Parasyte: The Maxim's intro, it's very grungy and sophisticated. Also, a viable alternative would be the op to mirai nikki.

So many legendary OPs in just this video, sheesh. Cowboy Bebop's, Gintama's, and Steins;Gate's here are among my top 10 favorite anime Openings out there. I made a comment before I realized that you had reacted to a Gintama Opening before, but I will repeat myself still: please react to all of the OPs!
Steins;Gate has such a classic opening. It is definitely one of the more memorable openings in all of Anime. And the visuals help so much with that. I kinda hate myself for never having finished watching the show. EDIT: I wrote this before I realized you also reacted to Guilty Crown. That one is also up there in the more memorable openings.
Steins gate really is slow and boring for the first half of season 1, but it really ended as a masterpiece with steins gate 0

With that being said, I feel that you are doing yourself a disservice by not reacting to Cruel Angels Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangellion. Love that show or hate it, that opening straight up *DEFINED* a generation of anime fans.
Cowboy Bebop's opening is ICONIC. Legit every time I hear it I get chills. The music from the entire anime and the movie is just phenomenal!

If you like the Hunter x Hunter opening you should listen to the ending. the song shows you the other side of the anime; the Opening is light and joyful but the ending has a darker tone

You should react to every single Gintama opening. The first ones have that same "nostalgic" feeling you were talking about since they were all early 2000's, but every single one of them is insanely good.

If you like the Gintama opening that much I recommend every other Gintama opening to you because they all are about as good as this one if not better. I wouldn't recommend watching it now because Gintama itself makes A LOT of other anime references.

My friend's favorite anime is gintama even though he hasn't watched op and bleach. Knowing something about the show also helps a lot to get the refences like gundam deals with robot mecha shits etc.

Fun Fact, Cowboy Bebop was the first anime to be aired on Adult Swim, and ultimately led to the creation of Toonami. (Adult Swim's Saturday anime nights)
Toonami originally ran in 1997-2008, Adult Swim started in 2001. But after Adult Swim aired a Toonami block as an April Fools joke in 2012, the huge positive reaction to it is what brought it back.
I absolutely have to recommend the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood openings. That was the first anime I watched, and I still listen to those openings today. Seriously, they are so good.

Guilty Crown op always makes me emotional over such a dumb reason, I used to watch it with my ex years ago who was also my first love and we bonded super hard over it, nowadays I don't have any feelings for her anymore so all's good, moved on but whenever I listen and watch that intro it manages to tug at my heartstrings somehow even now
Since you really liked the Guilty Crown opening, I highly recommend that you listen to Release My Soul, which is a song in its soundtrack. It's actually composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, who did a lot of the music for Attack on Titan. It's a really beautiful song.
