      Thanks for that. It’s a tough balance to make a video that is interesting and entertaining while not wasting the viewers time.

    Good job, great repair. The price of parts may be bad over there but here in Australia they are just ludicrously expensive, in some cases it’s cheaper to machine what’s possible in house to keep things in the ball park or even have a parts machine when you can pick them up.

    Dude I just bought the exact same backhoe 93' Case 590 Turbo. I serviced the whole thing for my own piece of mind and when i got to the part where i wanted to drain the tranny in this thing i couldnt find the drain plug and i see that you couldnt either 😂 everyone on forums kept saying there is no plug, even the mechanic from my local case dealer said same thing. So i believed everyone and figured my only options were drain through the elbow where the screen is or suck it out through the dipstick tube . WELL i chose to suck it out and i attached 2 hoses together and stuck it down there and when i went to pull it out after not getting much oil the one hose got hung up on something and popped off in the tranny🤬🤬🤬🤬 so then im like welp i guess im going in through the elbow where the screen is . Well LOOKY HERE , OFCOURSE i find the drain plug all covered in gunk and dirt while i was down there looking around and about to access the elbow to drain. 😂 so i drain it with drain plug out and then i pull the elbow and screen afterwards because the hole is bigger and i was hoping to see my hose in there to pull it out but noooooo ofcourse not 🤬🤬 so now its all drained and plug backil in, elbow and screen back in, and hose still stuck inside 🤦 what would you suggest on how to get hose out ? I was thinking to unbolt that whole back tranny cover ? Would that be an easy way? Does that come off pretty easy when on the machine ? Does it have a gasket or any parts inside to watch out for while pulling it off to get inside ?

    Your video is fantastic sir! Your skills are impressive. I have a 98 Case 590 Turbo for 4 years now and it just locked up on me going in reverse down hill! Rear tires locked up going down hill on concrete drive and caused her to pop front tires up like a wheelie!! Not a good feeling. It would not move at all in 1st, 2nd, or even neutral. Not sure what's going on but I need to figure it out. Finally put it in 4th gear and was able to drive her across my property to shop only in 4th. Wondering if I have a bent fork. She felt and sounded good in 4th, just didn't have any torque in high gear. Wished I had your knowledge!!!

      Good luck! These are tough to find parts for. The 580 super K has the same transmission and rear. You might find parts easier searching for those

    This is a great video for anyone(me) thinking they want an older back hoe for a ranch tractor. I am curious how much did parts cost on this amazing fix? You are worth every penny you charged.

    • @spankranchgarage
      @spankranchgarage  5 місяців тому +2

      This cost 1550 plus fluids in parts. We got a used carrier and side gears. All else was new. These 590s are tough because they didn’t make many. Used parts are expensive for them.

    Parts are so expensive it’s hard to fix anything anymore.watch when some one is working digging with the tires in the air. One tire is turning wearing the parts out.

      Thats a good point you mention with the back tires in the air. They will have a working parking brake soon that will help with that.

      You did a very thorough job cleaning it out so I’m sure they’ll get a ton of hours out of it. Pretty insane they let it go for that long.
