Wow !!! Eric Bibb is representing a big part of the musik of the transatlantic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Celtic music and bluuuuuueeesss music what a wonderful presentation !!! They would have danced together with joy !!!!!!!!!!!!! 🎼🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
I have a new bass hero since I started to listen to the Trans Atlantic Sessions - Danny Thompson - total empathy with all the players and has all music styles nailed. He shuts his eyes in a trance-like manner; mind-melding with the whole damn band! I love it.
Started to watch this series decades ago . . . especially as a northern Scot from Kyle of Lochalsh . . . and Avoch (in the Black Isle), currently and (on and off for decades . . ) resident in Munich, Germany . . . . decided it was time to revive my memories, and its all as good as ever - much of the Scottish stuff I grew up with!!!!
I have watched you guys from day one on the Box and it never ceases to amaze me how you can all gel together and produce such wonderful sounds and we have grown old together for which I am very grateful to you all.
I wish you humbly thank you for posting this series. I am not just a fan of of this broadcast but a continued follower. Just brilliant and we are so fortunate that these segments will perserve a history of this fine music from this great artist. I have all the recordings and never tier of any of them...Thank you again for these are the bringers of joy! So needed, in this world! Cheers!~
The Bible speaks of the weight of glory - it need not be a burden. The Transatlantic Sessions lift spirits and imaginations - how wonderful the whole enterprise must have been for the players and singers and producers - here, we have Bela Fleck and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh featured as background, for example - everyone in the room is cosmically gifted, and some of the best, like Danny Thompson, very seldom step out of the shadows (where the Light may be brightest). Thank you, Eddi, and You, Great Mystery :-).
i guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
Programme Five: The Hut on Staffin Island/Shake a Leg/Wing Commander Donald MacKenzie's Reel (Phil Cunningham), Dragonflies (Eddi Reader), Cúnla (Dónal Lunny), Leaving Limerick (Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh), Same Ol' River (Sam Bush), Gur Milis Morag (Kathleen MacInnes), Don't Ever Let Nobody Drag Your Spirit Down (Eric Bibb)

I agree. He and John Martyn together blew me away.
One of the best ever, also check out his work with Richard Thompson.
Danny Thompson was member of Pentangle, a band of All-stars like John Renbourne, Bert Jansch and Jaqui McShee. Some call them musicians-musicians.
All for Danny . . . have admired him for . . well, decades!!

The BEST programme ever produced on UK TV

One of my favorites on this session is Sam Bush's Same Ol' River - The vocal chemistry between Sam and Eddi Reader is truly amazing!
Beautiful, beautiful Eddi Reader with her wonderful voice. So good.

Jerry Douglas fits in so well with all the Scottish and Irish musicians!
Just love this, especially the finale.

Ma che bello! Veramente da morire!

J'Adore !!!
How did they pack so much talent in one room?
So enjoyable as music goes for me ,thank you ,old guy female voice fabx100
Does anybody know what mikes they're using? Those tiny capsule ones.
How can a North American from Texas sing so well in Scottish Gaelic, Sarah?
Do you want to dance a waltz with me Eddi? We have very similar names.
Sarah, among others, is a great exhibit in the argument for reincarnation, Edi :-).
Superb
...
I absolutely love these broadcasts. Everything is top-notch. I just wish they would include at least one woman in the house band. One? Please?
Maybe it`s merit based,PC culture is not good for the creative arts.
Was the sound made worse by not having a woman?
@@JustinKlazinga aye,a great many women were featured in this series.
I think they do . . . . just check the other sessions . . .
