I love Erick Sermon, essentially for breaking down how the addiction works in your life. He is 1000% correct. When you have money, nothing changes, but when you don't, shit gets bad. Big ups to him for getting help.
I'm 52 and I just sat for damn near four hours listening to a hip-hop history lesson. Erick and Parrish Making Dollars was my favorite group back in the day. So many layers to peel on this interview that it could easily have gone another four hours, and I would be there for it. 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
I'm 48.....I remember all the songs they refer too.....great feeling to fel like in my teens again.....my son is 15 and listens to all these (Em calls'em) mumble rappers!!! He is missing out on try hip hop!
I think with these legends the credit isn't needed. Iykyk. His stories, humour, street persona and humility is outrageous. His place in Hip Hop is the foundation of Hip Hop itself. "I bust a karate stance, I don't know kung-fu nigga!" Erick Sermon 2024
Even though I’m only 35 years old and I missed EPMD prime I still always respected Eric sermon as a real lyric and MC. I remember him killing the booth in Rap City

Lets just say I'm 2 Zig Zag Hemp wraps into this four hour Episode this morning. Salute to Drink Champs for this.
Legend indeed!!! As I walk through the crowds, I can see head's turnin'....I hear voices sayin' "That's Erick Sermon" ❤❤❤ My favorite EPMD classics were the Strictly Business, Unfinished Business and Business As Usual CD's.
what about business never personal? all four albums are the best hip hop records ever made. barely anyone in any genre has made consistently perfect albums like that, except nirvana.
🎧😌 I can't even begin to tell you the influence Erick Sermon and EPMD had on me since I was 7 years old to my present age of 44. "Brothas On My Jock" featuring Redman is still my favorite track by EPMD. 😌 Erick Sermon's production was so monumental in the late 80s, throughout the 90s, and 2000s. Parrish Smith, K-Solo, Das Efx, Redman, Keith Murray, Jamal, Passion, Xross-Breed, and the late great Hurricane G (🙏🏾😌💓🕊️). Erick Sermon had his hand in some of the ILLEST hip-hop classics ever made! Give that man his 💐's for his contribution to hip-hop!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 🗣️"I HEAR VOICES SAYING THAT'S ERICK SERMON, ERICK SERMON, ERICK SERMON."
E DOUBLE IS A LIVING INSTITUTION OF RAP. ONE OF MY FAVOURITES IN THIS WHOLE GAME FROM DAY ZERO & 1 OF THE FEW CATS LEFT IN THIS THING THAT STILL GOT A CLASSIC GOLDEN-ERA LEVEL QUALITY ALBUM LEFT IN HIM FOR SURE... HOPE WE SEE IT. THX FOR THIS INTERVIEW. AND MUCH LOVE FROM SCOTLAND. PEACE
OMG, EPMD was my favorite group as a kid. As soon as I saw the promo clips, I was waiting for it to drop. EPMD, Eric B. and Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane are my favorite of all time.
Thank U Nore and DJ EFN. One of my favorite Drink Champs episodes ever!! First rappers I ever liked was LL, Slick Rick, and EPMD. Hip Hop needed this episode. E double’s contribution to the genre has been grossly understated far too long
@2:01:51 The “You’re quite hostile” sample on Erick Sermon track “Hostile” is a Richard Pryor sample. It’s called “Man On The Run”. Erick sampled it from Public Enemy’s Prophets of Rage track which had the Richard Pryor sample on it.
Y’all all saying efn is annoying but remember he’s more focused doesn’t cut ppl off and drink champs became what it is because of EFN 🌺 sending you flowers Both Nore and EFN are what makes this show balanced
Just to think...I remember listening to the radio and heard "Cram to Understand", then "Public Enemy #1", then "Make em Clap to This" not knowing one of my favorite Emcees ever was listening to the same thing...then hearing "It's My Thing". I love hiphop! Respect to E Double! Erick Sermon! Great interview! 💯

EPMD’s first 4 albums from 88-92 as great of run as any Hip Hop group (or solo MC) EVER especially for first 4 albums! All 4-5 mic albums! They also introduced me to Redman one of the Top1-10 emcees of the 90s! K-Solo too. Erick Sermon inarguably a top5-15 hip hop producer EVER! His production on those 88-92 EPMD albums especially in general, but especially how dope/unique the sound was in 88-92! Also had a lot of dope production on Redman’s 4-5 mic albums in 90s! Also 6 or so songs on Red & Meth 99 classic debut “Blackout”. Also produced for Keith Murray. Produced 4, 3, 2, 1 with LL Red Meth Canibus (one with Master P w/out Canibus bc the beef) in 1997. Produced Reservoir Dogs on Hard Knock Life in 1998 with Jay-Z, Lox, Sauce Money, & Beanie Sigel. Produced on Method Man albums, Luda albums, Scarface albums, Xzibit albums, Heavy D albums, 50 Cent, D-12, Busta, Raekwon, Conway, Crook&Ortiz, R.A The Rugged Man, + many remixes for good artists. So glad Sermon clowned the Dre vs Puff comment. It’s not even close yet bc it’s on Revolt they try to put Puff next to Dre. The fact Math Hoffa and some others have picked Puff is insane. Hyped for that new duo project he talked about, but also need Mos Def Kweli Pharoahe Monch & Prince Po, Kiss & SP, Em & Royce, Tip & Phife Dog, Naughty by Nature, Das EFX, Outkast, Little Brother. “You remember Chino XL” -Nore- he’s one of the nicest ever and still puts out 🔥.

The Green-Eyed Bandit always explained who Erick Sermon was as a person. So kind and professional but would rob you of your dignity if you crossed him wrong at the same time. This man definitely us a history lesson with this one and I enjoyed it.
