Kids today just don't understand just how legendary this man and P were (are). EPMD forever!
Even though I’m only 35 years old and I missed EPMD prime I still always respected Eric sermon as a real lyric and MC. I remember him killing the booth in Rap City
Big fan
I'm 29 (not a kid lol) but EPMD the coolest to do it. The OG alternative rap duo.
Why do you think that is?
@@RC51Legend 1:47:44
I'm 49 years old and live in UK, epmd and erick sermon are the reason what made me fall in love with hip hop.....big up e double the goat producer
Went to his house and made a song with him. Super kind, humble, and stand up guy.

Met Erick in LV, NV after a concert he was hella cool
I’m 43 from oz and feel the same way about a heap of artists from that era … Cube, ice t, Kane,Eric b+ rakim , slick Rick , bdp, g rap etc…

I'm 52 and I just sat for damn near four hours listening to a hip-hop history lesson. Erick and Parrish Making Dollars was my favorite group back in the day. So many layers to peel on this interview that it could easily have gone another four hours, and I would be there for it. 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Im 51..... 30 days later, the LP went gold, so what you sayin'....the memories sitting on my porch with my boom box.
I just turned 51 last week. And every you said is real for me.
🙏🏽💯🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mutual feelings my favorite group saw them twice live!!!
I'm 48.....I remember all the songs they refer too.....great feeling to fel like in my teens again.....my son is 15 and listens to all these (Em calls'em) mumble rappers!!! He is missing out on try hip hop!
I don't think there is a better guest to interview in Hip Hop than Erick Sermon. Anytime he has in interview I run to that joint
My favorite TOO

Agreed 💯
Omg! You know he got hella stories
YES
For real
"So What You Sayin'" is still a banger. Erick Sermon (and EPMD) legendary.
I love Erick Sermon, essentially for breaking down how the addiction works in your life. He is 1000% correct. When you have money, nothing changes, but when you don't, shit gets bad. Big ups to him for getting help.
There was zero filter, Sermon was open and frank about his struggles with meds addiction.
More power to him.
Peace.
Nori should invite the whole Hit Squard..Redman, K Solo, EPMD, Das Efx & slide in Keith Murry😄
Erick Sermon is a legend, indeed. EPMD was one the greatest duos in Hip Hop ever 🔥💯
Shout out to N.O.R.E. for the introspection into the situation with Keith Murray and admitting his faults. Word!
Facts! Plus the fact that he didn't want to be held liable for Murray's antics, says it all.
Erick was calling NORE out the whole interview 🙌😁
Went to his house and made a song with him 10 years ago - kind, super professional, and talented individual!!!! Stand up guy.
Keith Murray is in a lot of pain, and unfortunately, he's dealing with it the way he chooses. He's a brilliant brotha & I know he will pull thru. ✊🏽
Bless up to Keith Murray 🙏🏾

This was my favorite group growing up, I was 11 years old when they came out. I’m from Los Angeles and no group was better!! I still listen to EPMD!!!!

Big Up Erick Sermon HIP-HOP ROYALTY 👑
West coast hip hop heads love Erick Sermon because of You Gots to Chill
Down south too 💯💯
💯
Sermon is on my list of top 5 producers
in hip hop. Severely underrated.
I'm a 50 year old Hip Hop Head from the South Side of Chicago, E double is one of my Favorite producers & MC's, EPMD along with Ice Cube, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, Slick Rick, BDP, Kool G Rap, NWA, DOC, LL and others from that era Made me fall in love with Hip Hop and are Hip Hop Royalty to me. Lets just say I'm 2 Zig Zag Hemp wraps into this four hour Episode this morning. Salute to Drink Champs for this.
Did you see EPMD last summer at the Taste??? At the 50th anniversary ??

I know I'm not the only one hearing Nore saying Erick Shermon?😂
He corrected himself, he tipsy😂
He kept saying it 😅
@@1980nardo lol
It’s his part time lisp 🤣
😂
Legend indeed!!! As I walk through the crowds, I can see head's turnin'....I hear voices sayin' "That's Erick Sermon" ❤❤❤ My favorite EPMD classics were the Strictly Business, Unfinished Business and Business As Usual CD's.
what about business never personal? all four albums are the best hip hop records ever made. barely anyone in any genre has made consistently perfect albums like that, except nirvana.
@e.triple.eee. Is that the CD with Headbanger? If so, you're right....that was included, too and I forgot Back in Business.
@@kendrap-LvnHppnss6371 yup. cummin at cha has das cameo sounds like something from straight up seaside and only dead serious had just come out
I know this was 4 hours long but we need another 4. E definitely has a lifetime of stories to tell!
This was a fire episode. I like E doubles personality. He mad funny had me dying this whole jawn.😂
Bro dude is funny, but he dead serious wid it, best kinda comedy...

He's coming.......
Eric Sermon I give you so much Respect. You have really helped so many people with thier music careers, nothing but blessings .Take care and keep rising to the top..😊❤
Watching now! Love EPMD. I was and still is heavy into hip hop in the 80s and 90s. Almist 60 years young! You gotta chill! Peace and blessings Erick Sermon!❤
Saying, “Not Now!” when asked to meet Michael Jackson is crazy!
WORD!!!!
E DOUBLE IS A LIVING INSTITUTION OF RAP. ONE OF MY FAVOURITES IN THIS WHOLE GAME FROM DAY ZERO & 1 OF THE FEW CATS LEFT IN THIS THING THAT STILL GOT A CLASSIC GOLDEN-ERA LEVEL QUALITY ALBUM LEFT IN HIM FOR SURE... HOPE WE SEE IT. THX FOR THIS INTERVIEW. AND MUCH LOVE FROM SCOTLAND. PEACE
That first album belongs in the hip hop hall of fame. Classic!
🎧😌 I can't even begin to tell you the influence Erick Sermon and EPMD had on me since I was 7 years old to my present age of 44. "Brothas On My Jock" featuring Redman is still my favorite track by EPMD. 😌 Erick Sermon's production was so monumental in the late 80s, throughout the 90s, and 2000s. Parrish Smith, K-Solo, Das Efx, Redman, Keith Murray, Jamal, Passion, Xross-Breed, and the late great Hurricane G (🙏🏾😌💓🕊️). Erick Sermon had his hand in some of the ILLEST hip-hop classics ever made! Give that man his 💐's for his contribution to hip-hop!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
🗣️"I HEAR VOICES SAYING THAT'S ERICK SERMON, ERICK SERMON, ERICK SERMON."
Noré was killing me with the Erick "Shermon" 😂
LOL I thought I was the only one that kept hearing that!!! Lol
Man I can’t take it with all this hip hop royalty interview’s drink champs are having. These are the greats I remember growing up in the 80’s and 90’s ✊🏽💪🏾
It took me a few days to finish the D.O.C. interview & now I got a 4 day weekend to enjoy E-Double !!!
MC’s jumpin out of shoes and socks…….I love Erick !! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
OMG, EPMD was my favorite group as a kid. As soon as I saw the promo clips, I was waiting for it to drop. EPMD, Eric B. and Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane are my favorite of all time.
Hey man say man y'all need to respect this man.. when you talk hip-hop he is a legend period.. one of my favorite interviews
All I wished for with this interview was more EPMD history. But still a really great interview with a pioneer. Salute
Y’all all saying efn is annoying but remember he’s more focused doesn’t cut ppl off and drink champs became what it is because of EFN 🌺 sending you flowers
Both Nore and EFN are what makes this show balanced
This was a good interview. Erick Sermon was the man! I hate when Nore interrupts Erick while he's talkin!!
"It's all based on plantains bro, relax!" EFN is the meaning of down to earth.
FarealDoe
Erick Sermon a living legend!!!!
The guy that has the flow of a master..the 1 of 2 that set hard body trends
It wasn’t Griff on Prophets of Rage that said,”you’re quite hostile… I GOTTA RIGHT TO BE HOSTILE MY PEOPLE BEEN PERSECUTED!” It was a sample from Richard Pryor.
Erick I love you. You ARE GOAT. EPMD had that sound so pure so clear. Out of this world type FLOW. Phillygirl76. IM 47. FROM PA TO ORLANDO TO TALLAHASSEE FAMU 89✊🏽😤😤😤😤😤😤
North Philly on the Check In.
Erick, is a straight quality dude. He's that guy that you can see in your crew of closest friends.
Salute to Eric for keeping it 💯 on his pill addiction, glad he over came the addiction 💯💯💯
Just to think...I remember listening to the radio and heard "Cram to Understand", then "Public Enemy #1", then "Make em Clap to This" not knowing one of my favorite Emcees ever was listening to the same thing...then hearing "It's My Thing". I love hiphop! Respect to E Double! Erick Sermon! Great interview! 💯
Eric forgot to mention an at the time young producer named Ty Mac. He made the 'Music' track..... Another great interview. I love Eric's passion in interviews
Erick Sherman repeatedly is CRAZY WORK
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Erick sermon, a master of the baseline
This episode is everything
I’m at work listening and everything is the best way to describe it❤❤❤❤
this is in my top ten drink champs 100%
Turning 49 this year and grew up in Toronto. Erick if only you understood how angry menand my boys were when EPMD broke up. That anger was just shynofbthe anger when Jordan retired the first time. We literally couldn't understand what was happening. That squad was on top with Das Efx, Redman and K-Solo. That break up was nuts.
Business as Usual is probably the moat underrated Hip Hop album of all times. It was flawless. Not a single song was filler. Production was revolutionary. Introduced Redman with some crazy verses and they teamed up with LL on a dope song. Strictly Business and Unfinished Business get the recognition but that third album was absolutely bananas. Salute to EPMD!
E Sermon and Teddy Riley tell the greatest stories 🥂
We need all of E Dubs stories. He is hilarious and EPMD are Hip Hop royalty .
*My favorite episode of the year, thus far.*
Its dope to see Erik sermon. The industry has been so disrespectful to this man; he's hardly ever mentioned outside of the East coast
I'm actually cool with Dj EFN's input. He knows his hip hop.
Agreed. He seems more knowledgeable about life in general, but also feels like he minimizes himself as to not seem too “big”. Dude is solid!
I tired to explain to someone that djefn knows more hip hop than Tony yayo smh
EFN is one of the main ingredients to this shit! Wouldn’t be the same without him
2:55:44 I feel this!
He knows more hip hop than Nore
NORE calling this man Sherman the whole interview is wild.
The rap game would be totally different if EPMD didn't break up & we got that Hit Squad album🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Omg Erik Sermon is the brother I always wanted. He has great energy and made this such an enjoyable interview. Bring him back!
1:45:32 shoutout to the legend Eric Haze, designer of the EPMD logo and many other classics (Cold Chillin, Tommy Boy, LL Cool J...)
I was on a nostalgic high with this one. E-Double, EPMD, NORE, Hip-Hop saved my life. 🙏🏽
Say that!!

Such an organic dude
Love this brother and the music of EPMD. Also love seeing the mutual love and respect between Nore and Eric, beautiful thang...just wish EFN would shut up when such legends are in the house.
@2:01:51 The “You’re quite hostile” sample on Erick Sermon track “Hostile” is a Richard Pryor sample. It’s called “Man On The Run”. Erick sampled it from Public Enemy’s Prophets of Rage track which had the Richard Pryor sample on it.
Thank U Nore and DJ EFN. One of my favorite Drink Champs episodes ever!! First rappers I ever liked was LL, Slick Rick, and EPMD. Hip Hop needed this episode. E double’s contribution to the genre has been grossly understated far too long
I am still waiting on a Erick Sermon & DJ Quik Joint Venture Album - to me these two are one of the dopest rappers who are also super dope producers, especially since they always had that funk element in their production"
Rest in peace Dancer of EPMD Stez-O and rapper. Man the stories he use to tell me
I like the way erik sermon was heavy in the game getting his due , getting paid producing and rapping with plantinum records ,putting out acts of hos own without the big fame keeping a low key ❤
E.P.M.D. was the greatest duo in Hip Hop History.
🤥🤥🤥 🤡
This was beyond special.. Thank You, E Double, Drink Champs & HIP HOP!.. SALUTE!!.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌🏿!
appreciate the knowledge this man knows the game in and out at this point.
One of my favorite rap artists of all time 👏👏. Sermon always carried himself well, so it sucks hearing about his battles with addiction.
Heyyy my hometown legend!!! Strong islands own E. Sermon! Solid dude. ❤
Chilltown New York is a classic album I love real Hip Hop. From Shreveport to New York let's go
Erick sermon is hilarious!!! Absolute legend!!! 🙏🏼🫡
I love how Erick mentions music on hard copy. Exactly why I collect!
Yo Eric sermon vs Dr. Dre that’s the real versus
Maby that's a good question tho
Opening credits get better and better every show 🔥🔥
Good interview 🔥🔥🔥🔥and Eric Sermon a comedian on the low! Great guy! I love genuine brothers having real convos along with comedy!
Drink Champs will spearhead the Hip-hop history documentary series with the stories they get with each episode. Erick needs to be vetted thoroughly with the shyt he's seen and done. Amazing stories.
Amazing/captivating interview....love someone who can tell stories and who’s articulate such a contrast to that Kodak black interview
outta nowhere with the "runs" ... i was laughing for 10 mins straight... this dude low key too funny
I'd kill for another Def Squad record but with that Insomnia/Double or Nothing era production.
The perfect example of having music that still lives on forever recently was 50 just toured the world off records he made 20 years ago lol and the reception in the building was like he made them yesterday I went to he’s tour I felt the energy !!! That’s the perfect example right there hopefully these new artist can do that 20 years down the line
Eric Sermon is definitely underrated and a G.O.A.T!💯
