My maternal grandfather served in East India company by changing his surname to a non-Brahmin one because of the requirements. He had documented his service in World War 2 (in Italy) and was active during the partition in Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir. He retired shortly after, retuned to Nepal and living a long pensioned life of almost 6 decades. He passed away at the age of 90.

But after the indian rebellion of 1857 , gorkhas were used to suppress the rebellion but fearing the same religion and brahminical influence on military assuming hindu caste being susceptible to brahminical values , they discouraged the khas groups and recruited from tribes like magar and gurung who were nature worshippers or buddhists. They feared that during the next rebellion the gorkhas would support the indians so .... Now the colonization is over , any caste can be recruited

It's no doubt it used whatever available manpower viz gurkhas etc...to gain their hold over the Indian subcontinent. Brahmins like Tatya Tope , Rani Laxmi Bai were at the forefront of Indian freedom struggle. It's only people from lower economic backgrounds who had volunteered to support the British against its own people. Such people are a total disgrace to the country. The new map Nepal issued 2 years ago is not a counter to Sugauli Treaty. That part was always Nepal and Nepal king let Indian soldiers to stay for awhile during Indo China war. Later those soldiers didn’t left the area and in modern days they are claiming as their own.
The Gurkha units are known to be the most decorated in the Indian Army. They fought wars won badges and awards like Battle Honours in Uri sector in 1947/8, Ladakh in 1962, Jammu and Kashmir in 1965 and 1971. Additionally, they have been awarded three Param Vir Chakras, 33 Maha Vir Chakras, and 84 Vir Chakras. Not only this, they have played an important role in the Indian peacekeeping force in Sri Lanka, and have been involved in the UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon and Sierra Leone Apart from the awards above mentioned, the Gurkha regiments have won 26 Victoria Crosses (highest bravery medal in Britain), among which 13 Victoria Crosses were awarded to British officers who served in the Gurkha regiments and the other 13 to Gurkha soldiers. Additionally, the Gurkha soldiers have also won two George Cross medals, for acts of bravery outside combat. More than 46,000 Gurkhas have died fighting for the British Crown. The Gurkha regiments have fought both World War I and World War II. The total participating soldiers were over 200,000 where more than 20,000 were deemed wounded, died or went missing in WWI and more than 23,000 in WWII. As of 2020, there are approximately 32,000 soldiers serving in 40 battalions under seven Gurkha regiments. Out of all regiments, 1st Gurkha Rifles, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th and 11th Gurkha Rifles are serving under the Indian Army with around 800 soldiers in each of them. Likewise, 2nd, 6th, 7th and 10th Gurkha Rifles are in the British Army.

Firstly, Agneeveer needs some tweaking. Well-trained soldiers should be considered for police service or other wings. Hitler and Stalin divided Polish territory among themselves. This east Polish territory (which now forms western Ukraine) was fused with the eastern Russian territory to create Ukraine (There is a long version of how this happened, but this is the gist. It was a blunder by the then Communist regime). West Ukraine was always culturally different. West is Christian and agricultural, while the East is Russian Orthodox and industrial). It is Western Ukraine that is hyper-national and contributing most to the war. They are not even Slavs.

My uncle who was commissioned in the Indian Army, 2/8 Gurkha's in 1958. He was my Dad's course mate in NDA. He died in 1962, he was the Adjutant of the Unit. I am outraged why do a nation of 1.4 billion people need to recruit soldiers from another country..India is a country with huge unemployment trust me there would be many kids in my neighbourhood who dream of serving for the mother Land 🇮🇳.
Why then in a country of 1.4 billion people most of the businesses are being held under control of gujratis. No one stops anyone from trying to join the military, but fact remains that traditionally a certain set of people attempt for it and are able to make the cut.

Lol, who tf said not recruiting Gurkha soldiers from Nepal is an issue for the Indian Army. Firstly, we have enough Indian Gorkhas who can be recruited. Secondly, it's a myth that Gurkha units are superior than other units and IA will collapse without them. We have Rajputana, Kumaoni, Dogra, Assamese, Naga, Ladakhi, Maratha, etc units who are equally capable soldiers. It's not the troops but the officers that matter. Since the Gurkha Rifles and Sikh Regiments have a long history, the cream of graduating officers prefer to be in those regiments. If you still believe in Martial Races then remember that Tribal Naxalites of Chattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra have fought the paramilitary for decades with nothing but crude bombs and bolt action Rifles. The officer cadre of Naxalites are more efficient than IPS officers who command units.
Mr. Gupta, Chhetris are Rajputs and not the Brahmins. Brahmins in Nepal are termed as Bahun. You have also forgotten to mention the Rais( Limbu, Tamang. Magar, Gurung and Rai). These are the Janjatis of Nepal who are mainly recruited in Indian Army.
Limbu Rai Gurung Magar are all different. Rai Limbu lives in eastern part of nepal and grg magar in central nepal which is called as west in nepal. Rai Limbu are kirat tribe people and Gurung are different tribe and Magars are different tribe . Gurung Magar Rai Limbu are 4 gorkha army tribes from beginning. Back then only those 4 tribe could join the military.

And some betrayals like by the Maharaja if Jammu and Kashmir at crucial battles etc. And Nepali had the advantage of higher ground and harsher terrain (which they were familiar with) in their case. You need a larger force to invade.. Normally by margin of mahy folds.. But still the Brits managed. And the mountains didn't really have much for British value.. So the cost of further engaging wasn't worth it. They pushed the Nepali kingdom to the mountains.. And then made them a vassal in all but name where they get to recruit from their people. Win win.

Since Nepal politicians have good relations with the Chinese govt, don’t be surprised if this crisis is due to the Chinese pressure as this will weaken the Indian army which what the Chinese govt wants. Next, China might set up it’s own Gurkha regiment as it can afford to give good salaries to them.
You have hit the bullseye. A couple of days ago I read a Pakistani's comment on how without Sikhs and Gurkhas the Indian army wouldn't be up to scratch. China is engineering this shortfall in Gurkha soldiers while also aiming to undermine future Sikh army recruitments by fanning the flames of the Khalistan movement with a view to engendering an antinational sentiment among Sikhs in India. China is already waging an undeclared war against India. We are just too naïve to realise it.
Indians have many people to join the Army. Its not like rest of Indians are weak. USA army is the strongest army in the world even without Gorkha soldiers.
Actually, the British genuinely believed in the ridiculous MARTIAL RACE THEORY. Lord Roberts was its architect. It was not just incorporating vanquished forces. They genuinely considered tall, fair, blue-eyed individuals to make better soldiers (not just as warriors but also discipline-wise). Hence, Pathans, Rajputs, Sikhs, Gurkhas and Marathas were their preferred stock. The Indian army was reformed in 1956, but British elements remained. Even in the current scenario, the North has more representation in the army. That said, one needs to understand that the rest of India has had better economic opportunities in other fields, and the army is not the sole benchmark of patriotism.

Presently sitting in Raxaul returning from a visit to Nepal. The resentment among the Nepalese people against India is visible. They are refusing to take Indian currency, the atmosphere is quite anti Modi if not not anti Indian. There are Chinese infrastructure projects like highways, tunnels going on all across Nepal all the way from Kathmandu to Pokhara etc. Don't know what's our government thinking...
@@pratik11-v7x Look my friend, my father first went to nepal in 1972 then again in 1984. Nepalese people were as good as indian people back then. Nobody refused to accept the indian currency even in the remotest villages of nepal. I know times have changed and i heard stories of demonitization how old 500 and 1000 rupee indian notes are lying dumped in nepali banks. But why I stated this point is because we as tourists face issues and problems visiting the country. I was planning to visit with my friends again sometime later but thi gs are becoming pretty tough as time goes by..

With due respect to our nepali brothers, my view is very firm on this that indian army should only recruit indian gorkhas. We have 4 million gurkhas which are indian citizens.
Being a Nepali, I was always surprised about the fact that why British always recruit magar, rai, gurung etc. Since the name "Gorkha" itself came from district Gorkha or Prithvi Narayan shah's Army. Those army was composed of mainly Magar, Chettri and some brahmin like kalu pandey. Other than magar, castes like rai, limbu, gurung never supported the campaign of prithvi Narayan shah. Never assisted that campaign. In different Anglo Nepalese war, more than 95% were Chettri, magar, etc. How come other castes came to known as Gorkhas. I think it's British divide and rule policy and conspiracy.
The Kirats gave credence to the word Gorkha which meant nothing before the Anglo-Nepalese war...the British found not only the bravery but also unquestionable loyalty in these Kirat tribes...on the other hand, the Hindu high castes are meant to conspire with no loyalty and far from being brave...Nepal as a country is down the drain because the parliament is filled with corrupt high castes... not that I hate any tribe but it's all in front of our eyes the downright incompetence and cowardice of high castes nepalis

Since Prithwi Narayan Shah was the king of entire Nepal, so British needed a permission from Nepal's supreme Authority to do so. What rulers of Nepal did was letting various tribes of Nepal to enroll in the British Army and die for British cause instead it's own country. Gorkhali Army (without Rais,Limbus, Gurung) successfully conquered Rai,Limbus and other Himalayan tribes & made them to live under Gorkha dominion. War cannot be win by bravery alone infact intelligence, economy, weapons, training and strategy play more role in winning the war which Kirats, Gurung and Tamang lack then. Newars are Kathmandu Valley based people who are economically & socially much forward than above mentioned Tribesmen. So Joining British Army as mercenaries was never required for them. Smart people the British: 1. Identify self-interests 2. Find people who can help them achieve those interests. Label them. 3. Declare that label to be better than others. Labelled people get happy and ready to fight with unlabelled people. 4. The British realize few talented among the unlabelled people. 5. Attach new label to these talented people and propagate new theories about these newly labelled people. 6. Go back to pt 3 above.. and keep repeating. 7. Meanwhile the British keep track of progress in pt. 1 The labels are like the appreciation emails you get from your boss! Makes you work like crazy after you get them and yet those labels don’t help you pay off your mortgage or credit card bills! All it takes for the boss in achieving wonderful results is few strokes on a keyboard!

The Nepalese Gorkha recruitment in the Indian as well as the British army is a remnant of colonialism which must be done away with as soon as possible. Nepalese nationals should not die in wars that are not ours.
Majority of Indians agree on this. We don't want to recruit soldiers for defence. There are better ways to maintain friendly relations with Nepal. I also want India to introduce visa regime for Nepalese like it has for other SAARC countries.

I have seen lots of immature comments like Nepalese Gurkhas will be employed in Chinese PLA. It is not feasible as PLA is army of Communist Party not of China it cannot allow any non communist to serve in it. Nepal govt is simply spreading this rumour to bargain with India. Additionaly any Nepalese does not require permission to take job in India. They can just travel to UP or Bihar and join the Agnipath scheme.
Gupta ji, you have not covered the subject which is the title of the video. You have delved into the history of the Gurkha regiments and the martial race theory but not said a word about the fallout of the non availability of recruits from Nepal for the Gurkha regiments. The Indian Army had foreseen this possibility and nowadays the shortfall from Nepal is being made up by recruitment of hill people from Garhwal and Kumaon (who are of similar ethnicity) into the Gurkha regiments.

Shekarji, One little mixup regarding physical stature of various Gorkha ehnic groups. Limbus (who are from eastern Nepal) are definitely NOT taller than Gurungs. Gurungs are not only taller than Limbus, but also generally brownier. There are, broadly speaking, two Magar groups - Thapa Magars and, Gurung Magars.

I am a Gurung myself. Gurungs are a completely different ethnic group to Magar with different language and traditions. Same way Punjabis and Gujratis are not the same. Also, Gurungs follow Buddhisim and Bon religion, ancient shaman practices whilst Magars are predominantly Hindus. I agree with you though on the fact that Gurungs are slightly taller and browner than our Eastern 'cousins' Limbus and Rais who tend to look more fairer and are more likely to have slanted eyes. Gurungs can look East Asian like Chinese and tibetans or darker South East Asian like Malaysians, filipinos, etc.
Don't worry we have Indian Gurkhas as well as people from Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram who also fierce warrior atleast give us chance to prove our abilities.
But do we still need them? We have a sizeable population and our people can do what these gorkha soldiers did. Don’t forget they were all trained in India. And people who got acknowledgment from these regiments were not Nepales.

All those who are saying Gurkhas are replaceable.... See the Gurkhas excel in mountain or jungle warfare. The reason being their genetic ability to act on air that is thinner in the mountains. You cannot teach that to anyone. Just go and see what are recruitment criteria for Gurkhas in British army. If same is applied in Indian army 90% of recruits will fail. Just check it. Besides Gurkhas are proven commodity, why risk nation defence in unknown item. Besides, all the invaders to India came from rugged or difficult regions, be they Afghan, Mongol, Turks etc. Even Marathas are from the mountains. You want to experiment with nations defence. It's upto you because you will be sufferers. Learning from experience is a hard way to learn.

Army's gorkha crisis is done by China which has instructed Nepal to stop lending Nepalese gorkha to India. It would have happened anyways eventually, as the communists in Nepal have tilted towards China. All I can say is US and UK are also watching this alignement and Nepal is going to become another Pakistan soon as these powers start meddling to ensure Nepal doesn't fall into the Chinese axis. India of course will play its huge part in ensuring that. So this crisis is temporary and if anyone tells you it is because of reforms in India's armed forces recuritment, ignore them or see if they are Chinese propaganda agents. China is a failed state. No Indian circular was passed to not go into Nepal. India just didn't interfere in fears of being labelled as meddling in the internal politics of Nepal(that you still do) but later you wished India would intervene to stop the madhesis but we didn't for some time but later got the dharna taken out because of the crisis. Addressing some cultural inconsistencies in the video: 1) Around 18:00 it is mentioned that 11GR is predominantly Limbus and they are from the plains of Nepal is partially correct. 11 GR recruits people from eastern highlands from Nepal who are the kirat people predominantly Rai and Limbu. Because of migration from mountains in recent years the modern recruits might have been from a plain area but this applies to every regiments not just 11 GR . Also Limbus are definitely not taller than the rest. 2) Around 19:29 you said chhetris happens to be brahmins, it is a very stupid statement to make because chhetri is a Nepali way of saying Kshatriya who are the warrior class in Hindu varna system. They are the equivalent of Thakur and Rajputs in India.

Gukhani rule was so brutal when Britishers won against Gurkha military rulers , Kumaoni and Garhwali people thanked the Britishers for saving them. Read about what all atrocities Gurkha military dictators Amar Singh Thapa,Bamshah commited in Kumaon and Garhwal Uttarakhand. It will tremble your heart with anger. Nepal is a poor unstable country coz of Karma.

Nepal has a point...The 75% returnees risk is a risk that India is accepting, why should Nepal accept it. From an India point of view, the Gurkha agniveer returnees (fully trained) can misguided by say, Chinese influences or such.

Agniveer scheme is the biggest blunder which modi govt. did with the world’s finest army. This scheme will decrease the productivity of the army. Why the soldier will fight when knows that he is just there for the tenure of only 4 year why will he sacrifice his life as he knew that after him there is no one for his family. No clause for social security and economic security of agniveer who are jobless after 4 years, no health facility no canteen facility no service pension and other entitlement which the retirees get now and most important no status of ex servicemen, some state offered to give priority to agniveer in their police forces but for how long will this sustain so i think it was just a stunt to pacify the aspirants who were protesting.

My maternal grandfather served in East India company by changing his surname to a non-Brahmin one because of the requirements. He had documented his service in World War 2 (in Italy) and was active during the partition in Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir. He retired shortly after, retuned to Nepal and living a long pensioned life of almost 6 decades. He passed away at the age of 90.

But after the indian rebellion of 1857 , gorkhas were used to suppress the rebellion but fearing the same religion and brahminical influence on military assuming hindu caste being susceptible to brahminical values , they discouraged the khas groups and recruited from tribes like magar and gurung who were nature worshippers or buddhists. They feared that during the next rebellion the gorkhas would support the indians so .... Now the colonization is over , any caste can be recruited

The new map Nepal issued 2 years ago is not a counter to Sugauli Treaty. That part was always Nepal and Nepal king let Indian soldiers to stay for awhile during Indo China war. Later those soldiers didn’t left the area and in modern days they are claiming as their own.
The Gurkha units are known to be the most decorated in the Indian Army. They fought wars won badges and awards like Battle Honours in Uri sector in 1947/8, Ladakh in 1962, Jammu and Kashmir in 1965 and 1971. Additionally, they have been awarded three Param Vir Chakras, 33 Maha Vir Chakras, and 84 Vir Chakras.
Not only this, they have played an important role in the Indian peacekeeping force in Sri Lanka, and have been involved in the UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon and Sierra Leone
Apart from the awards above mentioned, the Gurkha regiments have won 26 Victoria Crosses (highest bravery medal in Britain), among which 13 Victoria Crosses were awarded to British officers who served in the Gurkha regiments and the other 13 to Gurkha soldiers.
Additionally, the Gurkha soldiers have also won two George Cross medals, for acts of bravery outside combat.
More than 46,000 Gurkhas have died fighting for the British Crown. The Gurkha regiments have fought both World War I and World War II. The total participating soldiers were over 200,000 where more than 20,000 were deemed wounded, died or went missing in WWI and more than 23,000 in WWII.
As of 2020, there are approximately 32,000 soldiers serving in 40 battalions under seven Gurkha regiments. Out of all regiments, 1st Gurkha Rifles, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th and 11th Gurkha Rifles are serving under the Indian Army with around 800 soldiers in each of them. Likewise, 2nd, 6th, 7th and 10th Gurkha Rifles are in the British Army.

Firstly, Agneeveer needs some tweaking. Well-trained soldiers should be considered for police service or other wings. My uncle who was commissioned in the Indian Army, 2/8 Gurkha's in 1958. He was my Dad's course mate in NDA. He died in 1962, he was the Adjutant of the Unit. I am proud of his service and of the Indian Army Gurkha's.

Those people who conquered India and recruited Gurkhas were always on the profit side and still following the same story. They are on the advantage side as always. We need to think how to utilise those energy to build our own countries.

Lol, who tf said not recruiting Gurkha soldiers from Nepal is an issue for the Indian Army. Firstly, we have enough Indian Gorkhas who can be recruited. Secondly, it's a myth that Gurkha units are superior than other units and IA will collapse without them. We have Rajputana, Kumaoni, Dogra, Assamese, Naga, Ladakhi, Maratha, etc units who are equally capable soldiers. It's not the troops but the officers that matter. Since the Gurkha Rifles and Sikh Regiments have a long history, the cream of graduating officers prefer to be in those regiments.
If you still believe in Martial Races then remember that Tribal Naxalites of Chattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra have fought the paramilitary for decades with nothing but crude bombs and bolt action Rifles. The officer cadre of Naxalites are more efficient than IPS officers who command units.

Mr. Gupta, Chhetris are Rajputs and not the Brahmins. Brahmins in Nepal are termed as Bahun. You have also forgotten to mention the Rais( Limbu, Tamang. Magar, Gurung and Rai). These are the Janjatis of Nepal who are mainly recruited in Indian Army.

Limbu Rai Gurung Magar are all different. Rai Limbu lives in eastern part of nepal and grg magar in central nepal which is called as west in nepal. Rai Limbu are kirat tribe people and Gurung are different tribe and Magars are different tribe . Gurung Magar Rai Limbu are 4 gorkha army tribes from beginning. Back then only those 4 tribe could join the military.
Chettri are Khas not rajput and has nothing to do with rajputs

And some betrayals like by the Maharaja if Jammu and Kashmir at crucial battles etc. And Nepali had the advantage of higher ground and harsher terrain (which they were familiar with) in their case. You need a larger force to invade.. Normally by margin of mahy folds.. But still the Brits managed. And the mountains didn't really have much for British value.. So the cost of further engaging wasn't worth it. They pushed the Nepali kingdom to the mountains.. And then made them a vassal in all but name where they get to recruit from their people. Win win.

Since Nepal politicians have good relations with the Chinese govt, don’t be surprised if this crisis is due to the Chinese pressure as this will weaken the Indian army which what the Chinese govt wants.

Actually, the British genuinely believed in the ridiculous MARTIAL RACE THEORY. Lord Roberts was its architect. It was not just incorporating vanquished forces. They genuinely considered tall, fair, blue-eyed individuals to make better soldiers (not just as warriors but also discipline-wise). Hence, Pathans, Rajputs, Sikhs, Gurkhas and Marathas were their preferred stock. The Indian army was reformed in 1956, but British elements remained. Even in the current scenario, the North has more representation in the army. That said, one needs to understand that the rest of India has had better economic opportunities in other fields, and the army is not the sole benchmark of patriotism.

Presently sitting in Raxaul returning from a visit to Nepal. The resentment among the Nepalese people against India is visible. They are refusing to take Indian currency, the atmosphere is quite anti Modi if not not anti Indian. There are Chinese infrastructure projects like highways, tunnels going on all across Nepal all the way from Kathmandu to Pokhara etc. Don't know what's our government thinking...

@@pratik11-v7x Look my friend, my father first went to nepal in 1972 then again in 1984. Nepalese people were as good as indian people back then. Nobody refused to accept the indian currency even in the remotest villages of nepal. I know times have changed and i heard stories of demonitization how old 500 and 1000 rupee indian notes are lying dumped in nepali banks. But why I stated this point is because we as tourists face issues and problems visiting the country. I was planning to visit with my friends again sometime later but thi gs are becoming pretty tough as time goes by..

With due respect to our nepali brothers, my view is very firm on this that indian army should only recruit indian gorkhas. We have 4 million gurkhas which are indian citizens.
Being a Nepali, I was always surprised about the fact that why British always recruit magar, rai, gurung etc. Since the name "Gorkha" itself came from district Gorkha or Prithvi Narayan shah's Army. Those army was composed of mainly Magar, Chettri and some brahmin like kalu pandey. Other than magar, castes like rai, limbu, gurung never supported the campaign of prithvi Narayan shah. Since Prithwi Narayan Shah was the king of entire Nepal, so British needed a permission from Nepal's supreme Authority to do so. What rulers of Nepal did was letting various tribes of Nepal to enroll in the British Army and die for British cause instead it's own country.
Gorkhali Army (without Rais,Limbus, Gurung) successfully conquered Rai,Limbus and other Himalayan tribes & made them to live under Gorkha dominion.
War cannot be win by bravery alone infact intelligence, economy, weapons, training and strategy play more role in winning the war which Kirats, Gurung and Tamang lack then.

The Nepalese Gorkha recruitment in the Indian as well as the British army is a remnant of colonialism which must be done away with as soon as possible. Nepalese nationals should not die in wars that are not ours.

I have seen lots of immature comments like Nepalese Gurkhas will be employed in Chinese PLA. It is not feasible as PLA is army of Communist Party not of China it cannot allow any non communist to serve in it. Nepal govt is simply spreading this rumour to bargain with India. You have delved into the history of the Gurkha regiments and the martial race theory but not said a word about the fallout of the non availability of recruits from Nepal for the Gurkha regiments. The Indian Army had foreseen this possibility and nowadays the shortfall from Nepal is being made up by recruitment of hill people from Garhwal and Kumaon (who are of similar ethnicity) into the Gurkha regiments.

Shekarji, One little mixup regarding physical stature of various Gorkha ehnic groups. Limbus (who are from eastern Nepal) are definitely NOT taller than Gurungs. Gurungs are not only taller than Limbus, but also generally brownier. There are, broadly speaking, two Magar groups - Thapa Magars and, Gurung Magars.

I am a Gurung myself. Gurungs are a completely different ethnic group to Magar with different language and traditions. Same way Punjabis and Gujratis are not the same. Also, Gurungs follow Buddhisim and Bon religion, ancient shaman practices whilst Magars are predominantly Hindus. I agree with you though on the fact that Gurungs are slightly taller and browner than our Eastern 'cousins' Limbus and Rais who tend to look more fairer and are more likely to have slanted eyes. Gurungs can look East Asian like Chinese and tibetans or darker South East Asian like Malaysians, filipinos, etc.

Army's gorkha crisis is done by China which has instructed Nepal to stop lending Nepalese gorkha to India. It would have happened anyways eventually, as the communists in Nepal have tilted towards China. All I can say is US and UK are also watching this alignement and Nepal is going to become another Pakistan soon as these powers start meddling to ensure Nepal doesn't fall into the Chinese axis. India of course will play its huge part in ensuring that. So this crisis is temporary and if anyone tells you it is because of reforms in India's armed forces recuritment, ignore them or see if they are Chinese propaganda agents. China is a failed state. No Indian circular was passed to not go into Nepal. India just didn't interfere in fears of being labelled as meddling in the internal politics of Nepal(that you still do) but later you wished India would intervene to stop the madhesis but we didn't for some time but later got the dharna taken out because of the crisis. Even during the Earthquake it was Indian Air force and NDRF who greatly helped in the situation.. But the poor reporting by the Indian media caused some anger. Nepali authorities have some complex with India ever since the communists have come to power.. You can recognise India's faults while recognising that too.

Addressing some cultural inconsistencies in the video:
1) Around 18:00 it is mentioned that 11GR is predominantly Limbus and they are from the plains of Nepal is partially correct. 11 GR recruits people from eastern highlands from Nepal who are the kirat people predominantly Rai and Limbu. Because of migration from mountains in recent years the modern recruits might have been from a plain area but this applies to every regiments not just 11 GR . Also Limbus are definitely not taller than the rest.
2) Around 19:29 you said chhetris happens to be brahmins, it is a very stupid statement to make because chhetri is a Nepali way of saying Kshatriya who are the warrior class in Hindu varna system. They are the equivalent of Thakur and Rajputs in India.

Brutal judiciary which included poisoning person and if he survived he was pardoned if not he was guilty, drowning only male child of family if he survived the family was allowed less tax when boy drowned they were guilty of crimes and sold into slavery. Gukhani rule was so brutal when Britishers won against Gurkha military rulers , Kumaoni and Garhwali people thanked the Britishers for saving them. Read about what all atrocities Gurkha military dictators Amar Singh Thapa,Bamshah commited in Kumaon and Garhwal Uttarakhand. It will tremble your heart with anger. Nepal is a poor unstable country coz of Karma.

Nepal has a point...The 75% returnees risk is a risk that India is accepting, why should Nepal accept it. From an India point of view, the Gurkha agniveer returnees (fully trained) can misguided by say, Chinese influences or such.

Sir, We Indian Nepali youths join Indian Army bcoz we love our motherland but Nepalese soldiers want a secured & permanent career in Indian Army ...... Nepalese cadets 1st choice is to join in British Army & their 2nd choice is Indian Army ......When the Nepalese cadets knw their job is not a secured or permanent & they will loose their job after 4 yrs due to the Agnipath Scheme then why they would choose Indian Army as a secured career , they, need a secured job bcoz they are poor ,They expect if anything happens with them their families would get pension from the Indian Army but in Agnipath Scheme Indian Army won't take care of them after 4 years of service........ Gurkha Soldiers are not Mercenaries ... ... But this Agnipath Scheme is like contracting a Service deal with the Indian Army for 4 yrs just like the PMCs Blackwater//Academy of US , Executive Outcome of South Africa,, RSF in Sudan or Wagner in Russia ........ These PMCs recruit their servicemen in the basis of a contract of a fat salary that is why these servicemen of the PMCs are called Mercenaries ...... Now Indian Army is doing the same with the Nepalese Gurkhas ..... That's why the Gurkha youths are willing to join in the PMC Wagner group bcoz Indian Army will recruit them in the basis of a 4 year contract & they won't get anything like pension or job guarantee just like the PMCs & they'll get a handsome salary package from the PMCs..... That's why the new generation Nepalese Youths prefer to join the Wagner group or other PMCs as Mercenaries ..... Indian Army is also dealing with them with a 4 year contracted Mercenaries .... This Agnipath Scheme will demoralize the entire force ........

Gurkha from Nepal is global brand for last 200 years. They are welcome in US, Britain and now Russia. In India, Nepali are ostracized even when they spill blood for them. Better to have job elsewhere than in India when they are subjugated. 😢
Agniveer scheme is the biggest blunder which modi govt. did with the world’s finest army.
This scheme will decrease the productivity of the army. Why the soldier will fight when knows that he is just there for the tenure of only 4 year why will he sacrifice his life as he knew that after him there is no one for his family. No clause for social security and economic security of agniveer who are jobless after 4 years, no health facility no canteen facility no service pension and other entitlement which the retirees get now and most important no status of ex servicemen, some state offered to give priority to agniveer in their police forces but for how long will this sustain so i think it was just a stunt to pacify the aspirants who were protesting.
Why employ foreigners when our youths are unemployed?

I'm of the belief Indians are more than capable to fill all positions in Indian Army and defend out nation. If Nepal do not agree to Agnipath scheme, then its okay.
There is a reason Indian army have recruited from Nepal from its inception in 1947. There is a reason that the Britishers who had ruled over all groups of people of the world decided to recruit from Nepal and still do. Only from Nepal. There is a reason China wants to recruit from Nepal. They are the best, the toughest and thoroughly professional soldiers.

Current India has been in existence since 1947. Before that, this land was ruled by Britishers, Mughals, Afgans for thousands of years. Before that, except for very brief periods, the land was ruled by many different kingdoms. Nepal and current India share a common civilization that we can call Bharat. Other than that, asking why Nepal has not joined India just shows a gross ignorance of reality.
