How many times have I heard this VERY unfortunate story? Too many 😪 I too had an uncle attempt such things when I was about 9. I told my mother and she refused to believe me and kept forcing me to stay over at my aunt and uncle's house. Never had I felt so sad, hurt, and betrayed. MOTHERS when your daughters SUDDENLY refuse to go to a family member's home...GO ON RED ALERT!!!🚨

One thing to add is that if she stays, her daughters will end up hating her. Happened to me, my father assaulted me once while drunk, right in front of my mother! At the time, I saw the shock in her eyes, and I was so mortified that I buried it and haven't talked about it for like 7 years, and when he touched me once on my butt in a sleazy way, all the painful memories came back to me. I was filled with rage and told my mother I will never visit them again. My mother tried to guilt - trip me, and gaslit me that what I told her "never happened", and "she didn't remember it", even though she was in the room!
I realized neither of them ever cared about me and they're both mentally ill. It was a brutal awakening in my late 20s, but it is healthier for me to minimize contact than to deal with disgusting sociopaths and narcissists.
And like her, I had to take crap from other family members about not visiting my "aging parents"... I was like mind your own goddamn business

Greetings Fumi. You are not lying in this video; (speaking as a black woman) this kind of thing happens more than we care to admit. This reminds me of a quote by Sophia in The Color Purple "A girl child ain't safe in a family of men." This is generational, and continues on until we teach our daughters to speak up and stop protecting the predator. Actually, it's not so much "him" that we are protecting, but rather the entire family dynamic. The victim is burdened with "What will my mother, or sister, or aunt say or do? If the predator is outted and charged, how will my female relatives live, support, carry-on? How will they view me?" These are all the fears and worries that the predator exploits. This has happened in my own family. An uncle (by marriage) tried to approach me (I was 15, and staying with them for the summer to help with babysitting). He tried to kiss and fondle me, I was so scared and I refused to be alone with him. BUT...I kept quiet. Later on I learned that he had tried this with almost every female cousin in the family. Nobody said anything, and my aunt and he are still married...50 years. This is a tragic part of our history. STOP PROTECTING THEM AND SHINE LIGHT ON THEIR MORALLY-CORRUPT EVILNESS! You are absolutely correct a similar situation happened in my family years ago and I couldn't figure out how my cousin went from a straight-A student in school to being on drugs and it finally came out that my uncle molested her and no one believed her or did anything about it and my grandmother she just swept it under the rug.

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse by a family member, I was shocked to hear that many female family members had gone through their own similar experiences when i decided to speak out. they had all stayed quiet to protect the men

Omg I know someone like this! Her husband used to behave like the guy in the story towards every younger girl. People eventually stopped visiting them or inviting them out. Everyone knew but Africans and “family reputation”, he was/is someone “big” in society. The situation was never addressed and I believe she’s still with him.

Am I the only one who thinks that this wife knew this was going on and she took the husband's side until it got to a point that the truth was going to become a public scandal?? The wording of her story makes it very suspicious: first she said that her niece INSISTED that she was going, and she kept begging her niece to stay - which makes it sound like the poor niece had mentioned it earlier that she wanted to move out but she wasn't taken seriously by her aunt, until she had to INSIST and then her aunt was BEGGING her. Why beg - unless maybe the aunt/wife was afraid because the niece was probably going to tell other people in the family (and maybe outside the family) what the husband had been doing to her??? How did this monster husband get an opportunity to take the niece to a hotel? My guess is that the niece was trying to leave and so the husband (I think both the husband and wife) "offered to set the niece up in a hotel for a while until she found a place". And notice the wording where the wife writes "she MANAGED TO LEAVE, SO NOTHING HAPPENED" - girl, listen, this sounds like the husband tried to RAPE this poor niece!! It also doesn't make any sense that "because of how shocked I was, I RECORDED HER CONFESSION" - if you're shocked, how do you have the wherewithal to grab a recorder, and at what point do you start recording so that you get the whole story on tape? Nah, she sounds like she's trying to cover herself by playing victim: I think what was really going on is that the wife was recording because she already knew this was going on and she meant to take it to her husband to tell him "if you don't stop preying on my family members, we're going to have the police at our door"!! Because then this suspect sentence comes up: "TURNS OUT he had tried something similar to another cousin of mine" - TURNS OUT??!?! Did the husband decide to tell her about the cousin while he was also being confronted about the niece? I highly doubt it!!
If my suspicions are correct, this woman DOES NOT HAVE MY SYMPATHY. Too many women turn a blind eye to abuse of young women in their families, even their daughters, just for the "love of a man", and it's sickening! My only sympathy is for those poor children, the niece, and cousin: I hope they all come out of this awful situation okay.

My fabulous mother (may her soul rest in peace at the bossom of God) was once in an abusive marriage and had 4 children. The man cheated and brought women in their home. My mum told me she had to make a decision to walk away with her children, get a job and start a new life. She later met my handsome dad, a man who fell in love the first day he saw her. Married her properly after a few month. He paid her bride price and they did a traditional wedding. Took her in with my 4 siblings and the 4 of us were later born. Never ever settle for less my sisters. My mother never allowed any of my elder sisters to be mistreated by their husbands... she used to tell them, come back home and start life afresh.... never settle for less. Chin up shake the dust and always carry yourself with grace. Every woman deserves better... all the best to the lady. I don't know if it was a language barrier but part of me suspects that the mother knows and some mothers will tell their child to stay because cheating men are normalised in some cultures and it's not seen as a deal breaker. Your mum has lived her life as she saw best. This woman is now an adult and has to live her life as she sees best. We can't allow people to use their opinions to imprison us into lives that are killing us. Life is too short for that. People can come from a good place and still be wrong.

I would not doubt that he may have actually tried to assault these women or other women. Men that engage in that type of behavior usually have a history of molesting family members and end up assaulting other women or trying to. I was in a similar situation with my husband of 16yrs hitting on my neice. I had just had our 3rd child at the time. I stayed with him until my youngest was almost 9 but I couldn't just forgive or forget. It sucked and was hard but I divorced him. My youngest boys went to live with him and my youngest moved back home with me at 16 he's 24 now and still lives with me. We are both very involved in our children's lives and our granddaughters life. He truly regrets it and I have over time forgiven but I moved on and so has he over the yrs. Our children are 32 30 and 24. But I'm happy with the decision I made to leave. I'm just glad our lives have worked out in spite of that very bad hurt . But I would say to her to leave even with children it isn't the end of the world and she can move on proud and independent and still take care of their children together. But leaving is best even if it is hard.

Fumi I agree 100% with every bit of your advice. Sister need to formulate a plan for departure sooner than later. Can you imagine what he does on the outside of the home with other women who may not even know her our sister or have her best interest at heart? Too SAD: Some people, both men and women, are Ok with incest. The husband is suffering from a character flaw. There are things in our bloodline that we must deal with while we are single because marriage cannot fix those inherited, ingrained, imbedded negative traits. Further, some women will remain in marriages at all costs regardless of what is happening therein. I am glad that these issues are being exposed.

Hi Fumi! You told her right. Like I always ask my friends when they're in a situation that's highly toxic is would they rather have short term hurt or long term pain..... I know she is hurt. I was also in a situation like this with my sister and her husband. My sister blamed me because of what her sick husband tried to do and that was a very big disappointment to me. She use to tell people to watch their men around me like it was my fault. I am a tomboy. I never wore dresses nor anything short nor revealing to ask for that unwarranted attention from a man I wouldn't even look at at all. We have different taste in men forreal! Anyway find out that he tried a couple of the cousins too. The disappointment was were she didn't believe her sister and believed the cousins. Anyway she's now divorce him and I'm still with my husband going on 19 years. Godly people cannot be touch when the truth is the truth. As for that woman all I have to tell her is pray about her situation dealing with her in her healing and her kids. When she walks away I hope she doesn't look back trying to please other people because that is draining and a horrible punishment. She should prepare to leave. I also agree that when we walk down the isle, we do believe this is our forever home. I recently heard a widowed woman say, "It's never too late for a divorce." She was married over 40yrs but, apparently let everyone including him know that if situations changed, she could be out. Luckily she had a lovely husband who was faithful and a great family man.
I got divorced after being with my ex for 20 yrs. I never would have thought we would have ended. But when someone switches up on you, believe what you are seeing. It's how they wanted to be from the beginning. For whatever reason they didn't take the opportunity right away. The wife did not ask for that from her monster hubby, and while she should pay more attention, she bears no responsibility for what her husband did, unless we know for sure that she was in the know of what the husband was doing.
