You can always come down in stages, using a chair or stool. There's no urgency, because even that is an active stretch! And coming up, roll slowly to the right, and again come up in stages.
I do this with arms in goalpost or 'cactus' position, for 30 seconds. Then change over the legs. Really bracing the arms in a square sort of way! Gives the chest a good stretch too.

Finally a starting point for me. I have been working out with weights most of my life. Now at 66, I need to make some changes. I know I need more flexibility but can't seem to get started. Also I really like that mat you have. Could be very helpful learning the proper foot positions.

Yeah that's how youtube works. There are ads. You can pay for youtube red and then there are no ads. Or you can subscribe to yoga websites and then there won't be ads on the videos played there.
