I like that modern fans can experience what it was like watching superhero movies 20 years ago, during the Affleck Daredevil/ Electra/ Catwoman era. Just contemptible, missable garbage. They nailed it!
these movies have an extra layer of corporate cynicism being tied to a cinematic universe meant to make a shitzillion dollars
I just had a flashback to the DareDevil training montage with Bring Me To Life by Evanescence playing in the background.
Can of coke to OSW for this great comment ❤
I love seeing younger folks getting pissy about how bad some of these modern superhero movies are, and I'm like "brother, I sat through Blade: Trinity."
@@Allen.Christian fuck that, I remember the actual dark days of comic book movies. I sat through the 1990 Flash movie, the god awful Dolph lundgeren Punisher movie and the impossibly bad captain America from 1991. Now that's truly shite.
There's a video called something like "Why Madam Web Sounds Weird." It goes through a bunch of weird ADR, jump cuts, and other edits to try and reconstruct what Madam Web was originally about prior to presumed studio changes.
4:43 damn we almost lost EJ with this laughing fit lol
I like the red cow slobs. Unlike Cinemasscre's slobs their editing enhances the quality of these vids.
Slob #7 here. Thank you! Glad you thought the edit helped rather than hurt the podcast.
"It definitely feels like the movie itself doesn't want to be made." Don't ever say you don't hear poetry on Red Cow.
When you learn that 50 shades of Grey is just fan fiction of Twilight and Twilight was inspired by My Chemcial romance everything just makes sense without reasoning.
50 Shades is the Endgame of alternative Hot Topic culture
It goes even deeper if you want it to.
9/11 inspired failed cartoon/comic writer (at the time Gerard Way was trying to sell a cartoon to Cartoon Network) to start writing and put My Chemical Romance together. Stephanie Meyer had a HUGE crush on Gerard Way and started writing fanfiction about him being a vampire and falling in love with her. E. L. James likewise fell in love with Edward, and started writing her own self-insert fanfiction. Dakota Johnson stars in the 50 shades movies, and went on Ellen, and exposed Ellen as the hack fraud she really is, thus kind of ending Ellen's career (or what little was left of it at the time). So in a roundabout way... My Chemical Romance ended Ellen's career.
When someone calls, you don't always have to answer!
Madame Web still more enjoyable than the marvels. Madame Web actually made me laugh. That’s something right?
Ejs belly laugh when talking about 50 shades......hahahahahah
Fellas, where can I get a Box Mac t-shirt like EJ is wearing?

LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH
1:26 camera zooms in on “Charming and Funny”
Carnage was so extra and 90s because the co-creator of Venom Dave Micheline wanted to make someone so morally opposed to Venom to stand out. It wasn't his decision to make Venom into an anti-hero or get his own book, so part of his creative input was making a symbiote villain who would stand out as wholly and completely evil.
Came to the channel for the Bimmy talk. Stayed for the charming banter.
Does anyone else watch these movies and wish the old guys up on the balcony from the Muppets just rip them up. Idk. Makes me laugh. Have a great day red cow family.
Oh and also, waka waka.
@@DarthDoodie we got mike and jay now
@@defmore5099 very true. and don't forget the worlds greatest treasure Rich Evans. have an awesome day.
Happy Friday, Red Cow team! Tell John/Jon Hunt we all say hello!
It's webbin' time!
I laughed every time Ezekiel spoke… that accent was reminiscent of Massimo from 365 Days. To quote the movie I hope the spiders were worth it…
I like that. Studios not allowed to have the IP anymore if they make shitty movies that suck ass.
I'm just going to say it: I had an absolute blast watching this in theatres. Its technical incompetence is so spectacular that I kept having to collect my jaw off of the floor (Insert Bimmy's "What the fuck were they thinking?!"). Like Frankie said, I've never seen a movie that felt on some meta level like it itself didn't want to exist.
I think you guys should watch the first three episodes of Bridgerton, I'd love the laughs
Red Cow's Madame Boxmac would be amazing, just saying. Her mac connects them all.
Awesome Vid!
Thank You very much for Your Work! Greetings from Germany
I had no idea why the actress looked so familiar until you all mentioned 50 shades
How many times do we need to cut away. Just keep it simple guys
Being an obscure character isn't really a mark against the movie. How many people knew what Guardians of the Galaxy was before the MCU trailers?
That’s true. I would argue Madame Web (the character not movie) actually was slightly more known than the Guardians were cause at least she was a regular in the classic Spider-Man 90’s cartoon. Hell she made more appearances than Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Doctor Doom, Venom, and Carnage, and those were the major villains.
Folks forget the MCU was mostly created with the characters marvel COULDN’T sell off back in the day cause they weren’t popular and no studio wanted them.
@@Linklex7 Did she? I remember her only from the final arc and those were like 5 episodes or something - which is more than Carnage got, ok. The show really loved the Hobgoblin tho. I'd watch a movie with him as the villain.
@@TheParappa Can't say for sure but she did was present in pretty much all of the episodes from the last season.
Got only one season of firefly. Life ain’t fair guys lol.
Hey guys this is Netflix and this is our Netflix numbers, the would we lie Bo madam web is the most watched according to us
It's not that bad but not great either if you have 90 minutes to kill you can leave this on while doing chores around the house, I saw it mostly to see what a trainwreck it is and the four women are easy on the eyes so I can't argue. Also maybe it's me but the scenes with the girls all suited up in costume looks done in A.I.
Venom > Morbius > Madame Web
Theres concept art of Spider Man in the MCU suit fighting the villian so yes, they're still really desperate to have their own Spider Man cinematic universe more than a decade later.
Bold of them to pretty much do the open from Indiana Jones. Two people looking for something rare in the jungle, and then the hero is betrayed. Johnson should have ran from a giant boulder.
i feel like the zoom in needs a music or sound effect to go with it
Early on, I considered putting a "dark side of the force rumble" sound effect over it. No reason why it didn't make the final cut, but I'm glad to hear someone else was thinking on the same track.
I will say, I like the idea of non-superpowered heroes having to go up against a superpowered villain to get a break from the usual bim-bam-bosh we’ve seen a million times
Check out season one of "The Boys," it's exactly what you're talking about.
@@immortaluglyfish2724 I’ve actually been meaning to watch that! Thanks for the rec!
While I agree, they marketed this movie with all the girls wearing their costumes.
“I don’t think people are going to the theatre to see Dakota Johnson”
Disagree, EJ. Disagree. Her apathy was the only reason a lot of people went
Still better than Venom 2
Will you call the box Mac parody "Mac 'em Web"? Mac N Bread?
Mac-dame Web
I'm here to say that's probably the first time i've seen Mortal Kombat II on that Mortal Kombat II cabinet, lol
MCU is like a soap industry right now, it really doesn't matter if the movie is good or not, they gotta keep pumping production until the public decides superhero movies aren't that great.
Thanks comic geeks, you complained about one bad movie in three years back in the 90s/early 00s, now we have 5 movies per year, all bad.
It's simple, make Spiderman 4 with Toby Maguire and all is forgiven, even Morbius...
Watched Black Adam again. I liked it on second viewing. What did you guys think?

#1 on netflix translates to, we are trying to push an agenda.
Dakota "Medicated" Johnson
More movies made entirely out of money, contracts and nepotism. No passion whatsoever.
Origin story? More like SNORigin story. OH!
Don’t lie we watched it for Sydney and her Sweeneys ;) I know I did ! Lol first movie the other half asked to go to I was okay with watching LOL
As someone who doesn’t get the SS thing at all, I can say I didn’t and this movie didn’t make me care to seek her out any more
Marvel is like mcdonalds, its always the same everywhere and everyone likes it... but it's mcdonalds. Venom movies are like frozen pizzas, you got nothing else to eat and you're lazy so you just get one trashy frozen pizza, it's edible, the pepperoni on top is good but you'd better not get on the habit of eating them. Morbius and Madame Web are like those absolute garbage offbrand microwave vegan hamburgers, there is no way anyone at any point believed people would actually digest them.
Venom is mostly a passable film except that stupid turd line, which is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard in a film.
Can't take a joke? Sad....
thats really sad that ej's friend borrowed then sold his maximum carnage game
