The Nigerian president being a clone thing is actually a circulating headline in Nigerian media looool
Yep, just looked it up 😅
We all know he is tho 👀
Even if he wasn’t he still gives my parents so many reasons not to like him
He is a clone
i googled it what the hell i mean damn nigeria
In the book Oompa Loompahs are African Pygmies so he's not far off with his analogy.
Aurora Meadows Really?!! Jeez wtf I never read the book. Had no idea.
@@conclavecabal.h0rriphic Roald Dahl is a fucked up individual, the book version is so much more messed up.
What!?!... there was a book?
Childhood ruined
@@khalealtaylor1240 the book was made in 1964 and the movie came out in 1971. Since civil rights had JUST happened here in America they changed the Oompa Loompahs to Orange people with green hair so it didn't look too much like slavery. Book's called Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
This dude is a genius. His pacing is a little quick but he’s probably one of the best I’ve seen
Alexandria C'hello if he can own it, it could become his signature style. 😊
Might have been the time he had, probably wanted to fit most of his best material in 10 minutes
genius is a lil intense of a word
i tried stand-up. you’re pressed for time and have to crunch material to fit.
and doing open-mic is nerve wracking.
i leaned into to it too much and stammered and yelled. beer helps. but that’s how you end up in an early grave: depending on short-cuts.
Definitely great material - it’s like the video you go back to after they do a full comedy album and see how far they’ve come. Rough edges but the joke is strong - just needs to find the right polish to make them perfect
People talking about his pacing, You got to understand, he only has so much time for his segment. So he has to choose to either go fast or tell less jokes. Plus fast pace humor is kinda a big thing right now...
True
Agreed. If the pace is too slow, I lose interest
you're right but he could benefit from being a lil slower, it's better to let your jokes land properly. he'll learn to trim his set down and pace himself better with experience
I kind of like this better than the usual meandering pace of leaving too-long pauses. Also, this guy's funny enough that he doesn't even need to wait for the laugh on every joke. That's some confidence. And so he should be.
I love this dude's style. He kept me in stitches
He’s way funnier than that crowd let off. His material is great and I’m sure his timing and delivery will continue to get better.
💯👌
@Moe Moe
I disagree, there have been plenty of great comics who have been even faster with jokes than him. He was almost a little slow, but he was great.
@@kento369 I see your point I prefer to get slow comedic timing, so I was asking do you have any suggestions?
I wanted to laugh. It wasn’t the speed. The jokes weren’t funny.
I completely agree. His timing/delivery needs a bit more practice but fantastic material
Loompa with a hard “er”😭😭
"L O O M P E R"
That bit killed me😂😂
i lost it lol
That joke is underrated 😂
Your name is TOBLERONE
HOUSE L O O P M A S
I'm deceased!
Field loompers.
Oh my gosh Serena Williams as Wonder Woman sounds like the best thing that could ever happen to the superhero universe 😍😍😍 a muscular in shape woman that represents strength playing an Amazon? Yes!!!
MikeAndIke News she isn’t as tall. Amazons are supposed to be y’all so I think Serena Williams would physically fit the role better than Simone Biles.
Isabella W Your SOO right especially since Amazonians were black historically (If i’m not mistaken) so it’d be accurate and especially since she has such a kind heart and beautiful soul 👏🏾👏🏾
I love Serena but I’m sure there’s an ACTUAL actress out there with her build who’d do a much better job
tripple me in reality the Amazons are a myth but was a myth inspired by female warriors seen in other cultures; Scythian women particularly since they were proven to be part of the mounted militia and couldn’t marry until the have killed a man in combat. They were mostly Eurasian but they spoke a branch of Eastern Iranian language which proves once again they were true nomads. The Greek believed these were the true Amazons and not exactly the ones Homer first introduced to them and later became part of their culture (first a trend and later an essential in Athenian culture). Also, I believe Spartan women could’ve inspired Homer to create his Greek Amazons. But later on (even Greek historians of the time looked for the famous Amazon warriors) came to find out that there were female warriors in Persia (certain regions with a low percentage of population so everyone had to work hunting and protecting the area) and Eurasia (Scythians) with a fluid societal structure.
....just 2 words..... 'Ghostbusters' reboot. Wait, 2 more..... 'The Wiz' (the Wizard of Oz reboot w/ an all black cast) .....
As always, those average thinking 'majority community' members (yes, read white), would freak the frick out at the idea of a Black Woman representing what Wonder Woman represents in larger philosophical conversations of Amazonian beauty, strength, wisdom, etc. ..... Just like the (white) male/ majority population who also freaked out about an all female cast w/ the new Ghostbusters all female cast.
.......
By "2" more words, I meant..... 😳 ... eyes wide-open. Lol.
I do love the idea though. I do encourage more progressive thinking like yours. I do encourage you to boldly share that beautiful perspective loudly & boldly..... That IS how change happens friend. ✌
He’s really smart and handsome.
I’m here for it.
Me too, David. Me too.
Yesss 😏
Yeah is it weird to have a thread of random ass gay dudes saying this guy is cute? Because honestly he is
And I love his hair?? Like quite frankly he'd be cute without it but I LOVE that look just like, objectively speaking
He claimed his mom is smarter, because she has a "PDHD". That statement is probably half true.
As a Nigerian I usually hate when immigrants makes jokes about our country but he pulled it off. Really funny 😂😂
Hahahaha I came cos I saw his name, I came immediately.
The only reason immigrants don't like some jokes is because they are not correct at all. They are 18th century stereotyoes that don't exist now. So it's really insultive those countries and not funny because it's a miss information.
@Ilikebeaversandeaglesupyourass there's actually no one Nigerian accent. Nigeria is a country of all accents lol. No jokes first of all they have like 500languages that influence accents, they have the British influenced accent, they travel a lot so they have influence of accents for so many countries...
Take a joke then.
Ilikebeaversandeaglesupyourass Oh wow so i now i can know if a person is an immigrant or not by their accent!!!! ThAnK yOu!!!!
He packed a lot of jokes in 8 minutes and never missed a beat. This was hilarious
How did white people call black people “colored” when they are literally mood rings 😂😂
Because white is the absence of color. Our skin is more transparent which lets you see more of what's happening underneath; black albinos also blush and lose color when they're sick
@@benp9793 Hope you are talking about skin pigments and not actual color, because white definitely ain't the absence of color in that case.
Well duh. Stop rationalizing the joke 1😂😂😂
Why is this so true though?! XD
ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Clones do be colluding...
"I call the cops NEVER" lol
"LoompER!" Ok here's funny
"EEEEYYYYYYYY" "That's Oprah"!!!
Loooool that was Funny AF lolz😂😂😂😂
It's one of the most absurd punchlines ever, and I love it, lmao
"My name in english means seabiscuit clippity clop III" 💀
Is it weird that i looked up the Nigerian clone president in the middle of his joke and came back to laugh?
Nah bro... I did that too lmao
"Your name is Toblerone" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
That joke was so inspired. It worked so well.
Moe Money oompar loompar 😂
Love Torblerones💖💖
That joke was genius 😂😂😂
LUMPER
We NEED to hear more stories about this uncle!! 🧜♀️
😂😂😂
And he has to show us his hands
I need to know more about them mermaids
Check out the videos of mermaids in Haiti and Jamaica. There was a whole twitter thread from a couple months back on mermaid encounters. Shits crazy! 😭
Yep! Sounds like they could make a whole sitcom series about his uncle... 😂
This guy's cadence is spectacular for someone that young. It doesn't draw, it drags you in, and he carries it well. Damn fine skills. I hope he breaks through bigger.
“Nobody told you.. you’re an Oompa Loompa” lmaooooooooo
He's funny. He just needs to pace his jokes better so they can land more effectively.
He needs to put in his time. Bomb a few times. These days, you're on TV immediately. He'll be fine though.
Still great set
He said on his social media this was his first time doing stand up.
Definitely meant in the US or on TV
@@SoundRayStudio1 not ever of course
As a Nigerian in Nigeria, I love this 😂😂
"What you gonna do bout these mermaids tho?" 😂🤣🤣
You think that's racist, in the novels the Oompa Loompas were literally African Pygmies.
I've seen this same comment from about 4 different people XD
the way he moves physically is really...strangely soothing to me? he has such fluid motion.
Maybe because he looks relaxed? Seems like he's talking rather casually to me.
@@tiacool7978 oh yeah, it's absolutely very casual. he doesn't feel like he's acting or putting on a persona for the crowd.
He's gonna get better, be more comfortable, talk slower. He got this
He good
you sound like a comedy central puppet. the jokes are generally not funny, they are editing in laugh tracks to tell people what is funny and what is not funny. this guy is a political puppet, its all insanely sad, but you just can't see it because you're too busy going "HAHAHAHAHA HE SAID IT FIRST, I WAS JUST THINKING IT" meanwhile puppets are pulling your strings. sorry pal

@@master_shakem3291 why? i just woke up.
@@IntegrityGames oh ok
"Your name is Toblerone" went way over everybody's heads
I know right! I screamed. 😭
it did mine😂😂 what did it mean tho
@@pakistannumber8416 its a reference to the movie Roots. An enslaved man named Kunta Kinte escapes the plantation that held him captive, only to be caught and returned. The man who enslaved him, cut off his feet while stating, “your name is Toby.”
I was going to comment THIS!!! That was my favorite part.
I had to pause the video just so I could finish laughing 😂😂😂 6:06
"Your name is Toblerone" 💀💀
Shows my bias that I expected a British accent when I saw his name. Also, it good to see that Kilmonger has finally calmed down.
stolen from other comment but CHILLMONGER
David Clinging not necessarily, considering a few African countries do have British influence, considering I have a more British accent and I am South African. Saying that is “a complete lack of knowledge” may be going a bit too far.
Nigerians and Jamaicans make up the biggest groups of black people in the United Kingdom so it's not a reach.
@David Clinging I'm Nigerian and I expected a British accent. There mad British Nigerians
@David Clinging 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This man, Killmonger, is hilarious!
Yoool im weak 😂
Deeeead!!
Yesterday I was listening to a poem and the dude said: Batman's superpower is White Privilege. And like. Yeah. That's true.
So true. Does anyone believe Gotham PD would tolerate a Black vigilante? They'd be quick to declare that no one is justified in "taking the law into their own hands."
@@guardrailbiter
there's a reason batman's mask reveals so much of his skin. the downside is he has to use his cape to fully conceal himself in the darkness, but the upside is that cops treat him like a person.
How is that true? You’re reaching girl 😂
Eric Martindale In REAL LIFE no Batman would have ever been tolerated, not white nor black. Like what are you even on about? 😂 It’s a cartoon, and that’s the ONLY reason it’s ok. Man you people are reaching so far you must be sore by now. Enjoy the joke but don’t try pulling some white privilege bs into it
sirmoonslosthismind you sound like one of those professional victims 😂 The cops in the cartoon treated the other cartoon characters like a human because they can see he’s white? 😂😂 Y’all crack me up
This dude will SLAY when he slows it down a little bit!
If you had to fit that much material into less than 10 mins you would prob speak a lil faster too ya know..
honestly am a nigeria BEING A NIGERIAN IS A SURVIVAL TRAINING .... I THINK IT SHOULD BE ADDED TO MY CV
Bruh ikr Lagos is like the final boss level 😂😂
Survive that and you'll be set for life
For those who don't know what a CV is, it's a resume.
guardian bravo most especially now that your governor banned okada and keke. Boggs more evil than the Joker
😂
@@beedebawng2556CV is like your credentials
This man is an artist and an absolute DELIGHT. What a wonderfully wobbly jaunt through pop culture, language and history that was somehow brutal and bubbly at the same time. I’m staunchly pro-pun, especially when you class ‘em up real nice in an allegory- and this dude is like a wordsmith wizard level 94 that made me smile until my cheeks hurt. LOVELY! 🤗🥉🐎🍪🌊
"I'm the 3rd Seabiscuit" I think about that often 😂
His style/swagger/presentation is entertaining as hell. I like this.
He's got intense Jak Knight energy.
I love it❤️
Word 😂😂😂
And josh Johnson
That's exactly who he reminds me of.
He killed, lmao. I need more of him!
"house loompa" killed me!!!
"You don't have a belly button... probably" Nice! Yes, he is a clone. Definitely innerstanding you. ✊🏿👑

Funny asf! 😭😭 the cop thing was genius.
lololol "LoompER". He got me with that one.
close your eyes, imagine a young will smith. this weed kickin
Maaaann🎯😂 I can't unhear it now
More like young killmonger
Olisaeloka Nweze looks like yeah but sounds like, that voice, close your eyes and place some fresh prince and then do this
Boogie Inc naaaahhh you def right...It might be this cherry chem dawg but he sounded just like mid 90s Will Smith for a minute there
When he asks the audience if they're scared...and then mentions that he asks because of the collusion...
I'm over here watching in July like "oh just wait..."
He sounds just like Donald Glover, they need to link up. Same funny style and everything
delivery of the punchlines sounds like hannible buress with tone to me
No he doesn't lol
Way better than Donald Glover and Hannibal Burress
echeran i dont know about all that now
@@ranchdubois5731 Super funny, really intelligent but somewhat subtle, a little bit of surprise in the punchlines. Jerrod Carmichael is more like Hannibal Burress. Donald Glover is good but he comes off as trying really hard, this guy feels more natural.
I think that toblerone joke went over too many heads. That was pure genius 🤣
"Lets make Flash Katt Williams"
Yes,please yes
"You're name LOOMPERRRR" killed me
I like him, timing is a bit off tho.
Sumare Davis Yeah he needs to slow down a little bit, give the audience time to laugh.
You're beautiful
He might just be nervous.
Could be nervous, could be he only had a 10 min set. I agree though.
He sounds like he comes from spoken word, it sounded melodically delivery sometimes, but baring in mind he had 10 minutes, I think he concentrated on getting the jokes out rather than landing them right, he'll get it tho
This guy is what Kel from GoodBurger would be if he was a stand up comedian lol.
“Your name. Your name Loompeeeerrrrr”😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your name is TOBLERONE 💀
He's so good! I like his delivery and he has creative jokes, good points about the race track names, oompah loompahs, and superheroes 😂😂😂 After this stand up came out, Luke Cage premiered on Netflix, and it was cathartic for many Black viewers to see a Black man with bullet proof skin 💖 (i remember articles coming out about it at the time too)
Honestly that bullet proof skin thing really happens in Africa till this day
The Oompa Loompa bit is star-making.
Funny And Cute As Hell!!!
Right?! 😍
*He is definitely good. I like his confidence weather it’s false due to nervousness or genuine, I like how he laughs at some of his own jokes. He just needs to slow down a bit and let his jokes hit*
As a Nigerian I can backup his story. The President was really sick for a while and people thought he couldn’t survive it but he came back “healthy” and he’s in his 2nd term right now. But American politics is still 200x more entertaining.
I usually laugh a lot more at comedians, but even though I didn't laugh a lot, i really enjoyed his standup.
I've decided I need more happiness in my life, so I just added watch a bit of comedy every day to my list... I've heard that when you're happier, you're 33% smarter (and make better decisions)..... and who couldn't use some of that in their life?...
FACTS Plus you're healthier
It's amazing how good this dude is, I seen a more recent skit and he's definitely getting better with his setups, timing, and delivery! To grow that much in a short amount of time, this guy is destined for Comedy Greatness!
I'm glad he didn't attempt to do any Nigerian accent. He did a great job. Can't wait to see more from him.
You can say what you want about them Oompa Loompas singing and dancing orange face instead of black face oh for the simple fact singing and dancing in a low baritone voice like a sad Barry White but they damn sure didn't look happy
I was thinking this. They never came off as cheerful to me!
For some reason I’ve always thought they were purple😳
Wow!!! Never thought of that!!!
They were supposed to be African and Charlie was supposed to be black but his publisher made him change him to sell more books.
I like him, genuine comedy without any antics.
Dudes timing is impeccable, I catch the joke right after he says it, makes me feel like I'm about to miss it
In the books, Wonka literally was exploring and colonizing Africa and Oompa Loompas are described and illustrated as "African pygmies ".
It's not even undertones. It's cristal clear.
The movie was released when the Civil rights movement just started, so they changed then to the famous look. But the colonization undertones are pretty explicit.
Well.. yikes
These loompas is trippen lol
I like how the camera man keeps showing the one black girl's reaction.
They always do this with racial humor and mixed audiences. I think it's to let the white people know it's okay to laugh.
@@gyneve oh maybe she's his Sister?
@@tell-it7649 Maybe, but it happens so consistently with other comics that it's hard not to see a pattern.
@@gyneve they do it with all stand up, the idea is much like the use of a laugh track. also, next time you are in a group of people listening to a story, count how many times you look at fellow audience members' faces. it's a natural human reaction to gauge the mood of your fellows before expressing any kind of emotion reaction.
TLDR: confirmation bias, this is done in everything.
This is so good - just love the delivery. So unique and smart! Great points made, too. This really brought me a smile - thank you, Opey!
I love him! He’s hilarious. Now I’m off to binge watch all of his material.
Truth, on top of truth, on top of , I really enjoyed him. I can listen to him all day.
