Congratulations, you’ve unlocked the “out of gas” achievement, for finishing a roll of Cinestill without making a photograph of a gas station 😆. Great video Karin! And the video itself is “actually” cinematic, very well done. And also lovely little project for a night out photographing the city.
Hahaha, guess I must have grabbed a faulty roll of Cinestill, I thought the build in feature was at least one gas station shot on every roll 🤔 thanks, I appreciate the comment and had a proper laugh ahaha
A quarter strength pro mist filter does not do Cinestill 800T any justice! I am so grateful you recognised the great qualities of Cinestill 800T and how the filter detracts from its unique characteristics. Your Xpan, Cinestill 800T and Berlin combo was outstanding.
Honestly I think it’s very subjective. And as I said I like that the edges of the halations appear softer with the filter, but sadly the red is also not as intensive which takes away a bit of the typical look. I think it all depends on the subject: the shot of Potsdamer Platz works great with the filter on imo, on others the more extreme Cinestill look might have been a better choice :)
You really have the "composition eye" and really understand how to create an unique image with such colors coming from the cinestill roll, thanks for creating !
Hello Karin, you got the best out of the Cinnestill. I like the red glow on the edges of the lamps with the greenish colors in the rest of the images. The images look very cinematic. Absolutely awesome. You did an excellent night's work with the film.
How fortunate to have (or to get to use) an X-Pan! Have you seen Josef Koudelka's book RUINS? It is ALL panoramic and beautiful (black and white of Greek and Roman and other ruins).
Possibly the best video about the X-Pan I've watched to this day. Loved every shot, and personally I think the pro-mist adds a little spice of character to the Cinestill 800. My favourite was definitely the one with the heart. Stunning color palette.
I love how you treat the camera and scenes you meet on the street! But I subscribe this channel not because of the photography you are working on but your beauty! Nice vid!
Well I just stumbled upon this video, gathering info on how to shoot cinestill 800T and GODDAMN ! The shots are incredible, and the video well made. Thanks Karin for that super helpful video, and those amazing frames.
wow. some genuinely beautiful composition with perfect exposure in those shots. I think that #8 might’ve been my favorite although it was definitely a close call :)
Karin - thank you for creating and posting this video. It is great and so are your photos. I have several rolls of Cinestill 800T but have avoided shooting them. This was very helpful.
Ha, when you said a "classic" I thought now we'll see the picture of the gas station. But the Fernsehturm beats that by far. Very nice episode, thanks for sharing.
Karin!! I love the editing in this vid, awesome work and killer shots. The one at 6:07 really caught my eye-- I've been falling down the 'liminal space' rabbit hole lately, that one fits the bill in my opinion haha.
Karin, loved these night shots in Berlin. Such amazing spots and lighting with your Cinestill film. Your work is 👏 and Berlin at night is a photographer's dream chance. Stay wonderful and safe.
Berlin is really made for cinestill. great architecture and neon lights everywhere. It's always amazing to see how cinestill transforms a scene. 😮 It's really hard to say which picture is the best this time because they all look so good. #14 is so beautifully bright and colorful though. 👌 Overall again a fantastic video.
I simply can't fork out that money for the xpan or tx1. So I can only watch your video to enjoy the beauty of it and its product. Thanks for the video and pictures.
OMG Karin this video is soooo good! I've been to Germany twice but never gotten to see Berlin and this video makes me want to go so bad! Personally I really love both of those photos you took through the dirty window at 6:39. The window adds a little depth to the scene and really highlights the feeling that we are looking at a scene from outside the building with you
Thank you Reimann, I appreciate it! :) Berlin is incredible, I am sure you would like it for photography. And I like the different perspective you gave me on those dirty window neon light shots. They still need to grow on me though.
I really liked seeing all your photos. I struggle with composing for the panorama format, and my most comfortable format is square or 4x3, so seeing how you are composing these really wide panoramas gave me some ideas. I really loved the vertical panorama! 💗
So nice to hear the video was a tiny bit helpful! Composing in pano is reaaaally really hard, but once you find a composition that works, it’s even more rewarding
Oh wow, 5 years is really something haha. I said that it’s one of the slowest rolls I ever shot „in one go“. I had rolls live in camera for months or even a year before as well, but with „slow“ I mean shot rate per shooting time :)

XPAN and Cinestill? My wallet just jumped out of my pocket and out the window.
It couldn't be more expensive for 35mm!! Oh well!! At least the photos are good!!
Haha 😂

Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it! :)
I also loved the garage door photo. It's both geometrically satisfying and playfully artistic.
Glad I am not the only one who oddly likes this image a lot. Thanks for your comment! :)
Beautiful! I didn't plan on subscribing but here I am, a new subscriber.
Leaving out the anti-halation coating was the right move. That light bloom is gorgeous. 🤤
thanks for your comment! :)
I think it´s the first time I like EVERY photo on a video!
I appreciate it a lot, thank you :)

I really enjoyed this video. Everything about it. The music , the shots, the narration, the camera. 👏
I really love how calm and smooth the editing and voice over is! It goes completely with the vibes of the video!
Thanks, I appreciate it ⚡️
Great video Ms. Majoka. Thank you for sharing! I love the concept of showing every exposure. Fascinating.
Thank you David, I appreciate it :)
What a great combo of Film and Kärin!
I really like your pictures! And I am impressed by the perfect geometry of your picture #17, considering the optical viewfinder of the Xpan!...
How fortunate to have (or to get to use) an X-Pan! Have you seen Josef Koudelka's book RUINS? It is ALL panoramic and beautiful (black and white of Greek and Roman and other ruins).
a lot of value in just one video, thanks!
Thanks ✌🏼
Whats an amazing video! I love a photo of BAHNHOF, I'm looking forward to see next cinestill photos in Berlin.
😄
Lovely set of images. I need to visit Berlin.

Thank you ⚡️
It's Just beautiful how good you illustrated every single bit.

wow. some genuinely beautiful composition with perfect exposure in those shots. I think that #8 might’ve been my favorite although it was definitely a close call :)
Those are really cool building halls! great video!
Thank you, I appreciate it :)
Lovely video with great images! I need to shoot more in the dark with cinematic film!
great work, I really like your eye.
Thanks ⚡️
#14 is by far my favorite! I am a sucker for neon lights!
Thank you ⚡️
Very inspiring 👏🤩👍 Thank You for sharing this 🖐️

sehr gut. toller kanal und tolle fotos
I totally dig your work and soothing voiceover. ❤️
Thank you for your kind comment, I appreciate it!
Karin - thank you for creating and posting this video. It is great and so are your photos. I have several rolls of Cinestill 800T but have avoided shooting them. This was very helpful.
Thank so much, glad that the video inspired you to go out yourself and shoot some Cinestill. It’s an awesome film! :)
loved the video, I got lost in the dystopian vibes 800t and berlin brings
Thank you, glad that the vibe came across⚡️
Thank you, glad that the vibe came across⚡️
Beautiful shots.
I love these shots Karin! Great vid.
Berlin is the absolute best for film photography! So many awesome subjects inside of the ring, and then countless more outside of it
You can never have enough time there. Always so much more to explore
@@KarinMajoka very true! The Berlin on Film facebook group has been a good way to explore the city and do photowalks
..wunderbare Bilder...👏.... und das Video ist schon Kunst an und für sich....lg aus österreich...🙂
Vielen Dank für die netten Worte ☺️
Klasse combo! Ich bin Fan von #4! Danke für die Inspiration
Vielen Dank für den Kommentar! :)
This video is a work of art
🤍⚡️
All excellent pictures with this combo. I wonder if the pandemic helped with the ghostly empty streets. TFS
these are some of the coolest pictures I've seen on any youtube video and beyond!
also if you need music for any future episode id love to send you some
Thank you so much! What kind of music do you do? I might actually be interested because it’s always tricks to find the perfect song for a video :)
Ha, when you said a "classic" I thought now we'll see the picture of the gas station. But the Fernsehturm beats that by far. Very nice episode, thanks for sharing.
Hahaha, I think my Cinestill was faulty, usually a gas station appears on the frame once you say the magic word beforehand.
Karin!! I love the editing in this vid, awesome work and killer shots. The one at 6:07 really caught my eye-- I've been falling down the 'liminal space' rabbit hole lately, that one fits the bill in my opinion haha.
Thank you, Lou! Same here, a viewer told me about liminal spaces recently and I‘ve been digging into it since
Loved this video soooo much ❤ thank you
Great images, great video!
And: Thank you! ☺️
Berlin is the city for that. This is also really cool combination Cinestill and Xpan. Love the effect.
Thank you! :)

Thanks so much for your kind comment. :)
Amazing colors it really adds to the look. I am going to pick up a roll and try it on my xpan. Great content
Thanks! Awesome, have fun shooting with it :)
That is super awesome. Probably one of the best photo walk videos I've seen.
I appreciate it, thanks ⚡️
Some very cinematic shots there
Fantastic video!! I've always wanted an XPAN (or TX-1)! Love how you've combined with Cinestill to give a very genuinely cinematic feel!
Thank you, I appreciate it ⚡️
absolutely love the shot of potsdamer platz!
Thank you! ⚡️
Die XPAN...., ein Träumchen !!! Super Video, vielen Dank! 👏
Vielen Dank dir! :)
Echt knaller Farben, besonders beim Babylon Foto. I'm in love
Danke 🥰
You have taken shots that I would have passed on. You were right, I would have been wrong to have passed. Good job !

Thank you Dan, I appreciate it a lot! Berlin is indeed a fabulous place to take photos in, it has so much to offer.
Berlin actually has it own version of this film called "Spätlight 800T"
Spät isGerman for late
@@Uwe_Ludolf Ja, Spätlight 800T kenne ich aber war schneller ausverkauft als ich bestellen konnte. 😅
The cool thing is that Cinestill is German..
@@oackgourmandi6061 aren't the Wright brothers from LA?
This is incredible
Another great video! X-pan Karin strikes again. The scene you almost walked by was my favorite shot of this series!!
Thank you Ash, I appreciate it! :)
Spannender und inspirierender Film, danke!
Der „Wagen im Brunnen” ist meine persönliche Nr. 1 aus den 20 Aufnahmen.
Vielen Dank für den netten Kommentare! :)
Wow I’m really impressed by the results. I love every shot. Keep up the good work

Beautiful photos! 👏🏼
Thank you ⚡️
Beautiful shots! I am moving to Germany this October and your videos are giving me all sorts of ideas on places to check out.
Great video. Cinestill is the best. I would love to see a processing video of this roll.
That’s a lot of fantastic shots out of just one roll of film! You definitely got your money’s worth!! ❤
super schönes Video und tolle Fotos! :)

Whaaat - you didn't like the dirty window? I think it adds some interesting textures to the photo🤷🏻♂️
Lovely video Karin!🤗
That’s some interesting reframing! Maybe they still need to grow on me. Thank you Teo, I appreciate it :)
Really awesome shots. So cinematic
thank you :)
#14 is a real standout for me. Awesome shots! Cinema film feels so at home in the XPan.
Thank you, I appreciate it! :) Even though "cinematic" sounds like a cliché term to use, I think it is really suiting this combination.
Beautiful.
such a great video... as always!!! thanks,,,
Thank you ⚡️
"And, that's sad. Anyway, thanks for watching!" 😂 Awesome pics tho. I actually dug the dirty window ones a lot.
Really love the great shots. Moreover, excellent video. Greetings from Pankow!
Thank you! :) Jealous of everybody who gets to explore the streets of Berlin everyday haha
@@KarinMajoka Oh, unfortunately I never really find time to photograph at home, but now I am inspired!!
These are so lovely, Karin! I think my fav is #16 with the station lights and a worker wearing an orange vest. Wish I could travel to Berlin again ❤
Thank you Bon, I appreciate it! Say hi in case you come to Berlin one day :)
@@KarinMajoka for sure!
Beautiful work. It feels very "Blade Runner", which is amazing.
