Willem's videos relax me, entertain me, give me photographic inspiration, teach me a few new things and make me want to experiment more in my film photography. Now who's gonna top that?
Willem, you should try to have the lab process it in ECN-2 chemicals, or develop it at 30 degrees for 8 minutes in c-41. Cinestill is supposed to be developed in ECN-2 chemicals, so when you are using C-41 you'll get some color casts due to the cross processing. 800T is actually a 500T film made by Kodak, and processing it in ECN-2 will give you less contrast, but more dynamic range (since it's made for movies more dynamic range is good for grading etc.)
@@marcellom.4268 Thats true cinestill 800t has no remjet layer but if shooting the 500t kodak vision3 or similar ecn-2 would be used or like my shop did some random cross process where they soften then 'scrub' the remjet off hah
@Boby Brady Are you from the city or upstate? I’m not sure what you meant by that, but if you’re implying that he meant that all New Yorkers just poop in the streets, I think you missed the point. It’s not uncommon, especially in very large cities, to find a spot where someone or something has chosen to poop or vomit. I’ve been to large cities like Buenos Aires and Havana and there is dog shit EVERYWHERE. No exaggeration. People accidentally step in it all the time and it’s not very uncommon to see poop skids on the sidewalk, in the street, on the grass, etc. from where people tried to remove the poop from their shoe. Many types of people live in New York. Are you saying there’s a 0% chance that people are crazy enough to defecate on the street? I’ve sure enough seen it. People also don’t always clean up after their dogs. I’m not trying to force a pun here, but shit like this happens a lot more than you obviously realize. Maybe you should get out more.
@Bobby Brady I did read carefully and I still stand by what I said. I don't think you understand. Just because you don't have any relatable experiences doesn't mean that there aren't others who would benefit from such clarification. This is ethnocentrism at its finest.
What I love about this video is how you include your friend in your work, how supportive you are of him, and the chemistry you guys have its like you both bounce off of each other and there’s clear good rapport between you two in conversation as well, and I appreciate that. You mentioned him multiple times in the video and said “we” instead of “I” reinstatin his existence with you and that to me is so beautiful man. Just seein good easy goin equal respect and love bro/friendship makes me feel happy, there’s too many videos I’ve seen where people don’t even acknowledge their friends in their videos or have that easy goin rapport, it just feels like there just there as background filler and it always makes me feel so awkwardly uncomfortable, coz I’m the kind of friend who’d include whoever am with the same way you do with your friend. You definitely got a supporter here bro, all in all I love the video and your photography (and your friend’s) is mad clean! Both of you keep it up, these videos are the inspiration and beauty we need more of!
If anyone wants to give it a go, I highly recommend using this film in daylight with an 85B or 81A warming filter. The colour palette and dynamic range is quite amazing! CineStill says to rate it at ISO 500 in daylight, but I personally I think 400 gives the best results. And if you're bothered by the halation, a haze filter will reduce that quite a lot. Also, yay Norway!
I know it's an old comment but there's no chance you perhaps could show some pictures taken with it at iso 400 and a warming filter? I'm very intrigued and really wanna try it myself!
Weirdly, 7:55 "not my strongest frame," is one of my personal favourites from this set. P.s That Greenpoint Wood Exchange looks like a great location for a couple more shots.
Dude really enjoying watching you totally kill it with this channel. You look so comfortable and happy running around Brooklyn taking photos. Makes me feel like I'm just along for the ride!
that thing you did in the last video, where you compared the scan to your edits was pretty helpful, maybe you could put them after the outro each time :)
I've only shot Cinestill 800T one time so far, and I shot a concert with it using my Canon EOS3 pushing it two stops. I took some of my favorite photos with that roll. Gorgeous grain, incredible colors!
Very nice,Skid Marks! he!he! Lovely colours off that film. You have a nice intuitive style in your presenting. I've seen a good few of your videos and nice chill out music that suits the scenes.Well Done!
Your work is really cool! Thanks for giving the settings you choose and show us the before/after editing or when you overexpose/underexpose a shot like here
You are really inspiring and many thanks for that. You got me hyped about shooting urban areas that I wouldn't deem ''photogenic'' enough before but here I am now with old russian cameras taking pictures of my small town. So thanks again
Thank you for posting this. Just loaded some Cinestill 800T in my Minolta X700 but haven't got at night to use it yet. This will be help. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Nice video as usual! I like a lot the photo with the 3 trucks! Hope to see a video on your channel with Grainydays in 2020, must be super cool! Happy holidays !
I don't know how many times i've watched this and I laugh every time when you are counting down. 3,2,1 like anyone is listening. love you photos Willem and your videos.
The price of Cinestill has become a spot market because they release their production in batches. I buy a bunch of it every time they announce a batch is ready. I'm hoarding about 20 rolls now that I bought at the base price of $11.99 each (120 size). 5 rolls go with me to Hong Kong every time I go. It's the perfect place to use Cinestill. Great video demonstrating the strengths of the film stock.
I am lucky to get my Cinestill in a small shop in Berlin. It is one of the only german shops which sells Cinestill and have it in stock most of the time. Since I am shooting a longer video on Cinestill in the moment I am kind fortunate to not have to pay 20$ per roll haha
6:50 first time ive ever heard willems voice do that
“Not like a poop skid mark” - Willem Verbeeck, 2019
Frame that quote son
too good
😂😂😂
end it up the decade with the holy quote.
I got a good chuckle out of that moment.
he never fails to make content that relaxes, entertains and impresses me. thank you
Willem's videos relax me, entertain me, give me photographic inspiration, teach me a few new things and make me want to experiment more in my film photography. Now who's gonna top that?
Seeing Willem so expressive feels weird. Also merry christmas!
merry christmas, and yeah, it creeps me out, its like its someone else
It was my buddy Joel behind the camera who brings out the goof
Willem Verbeeck Then do bring out the goof more often
@@WillemVerb I like it. More expressive Willem!
„Bring out the goof“ that‘s Pulp Fiction, right?
Dude this quiet industrial part of Greenpoint at night suits your style perfectly. Beautiful stuff.
I'm still cold from that night but hot dang was that fun and did those images turn out nice or whut!! Well done Willem!

Aaaaah that’s super interesting! Thanks for the info. Will look into it❤️
Is it the same as kodak vision 3?
Jacob Christiansen isn't ecn-2 made to remove the remjet layer which cinestill does not have?
@@marcellom.4268 Thats true cinestill 800t has no remjet layer but if shooting the 500t kodak vision3 or similar ecn-2 would be used or like my shop did some random cross process where they soften then 'scrub' the remjet off hah
@@ryancampbell588 so using ecn-2 chem on cinestill is possible?
Willem got the Christmas spirit in this one
OMG, your energy makes we want to go out and make photos every time you post a video! Merry Christmas, Willem!
clarifying that it wasn't a poop skidmark, especially in NYC, is very crucial. 👏
@Bobby Brady Have you ever been to New York?

@Bobby Brady You're too dense to even conceive the idea that it possibly wasn't 'humor' at all.

I mean, yeah - gas stations might be cliche, but that might be because they make for good subjects and I think you nailed this one
The only youtuber i never skip a single frame on. Well done again
Willem has one of the best content on UA-cam
Probably one of the funnest of your videos to watch, great to see your excitement framing each shot
really love CineStill 800T and the rendering it gives on film...The gas station image was killin'! Thanks for doing this Willem.
Willem is so lively when he's cold
Willem, your videos are so nice and relaxing. Dude keep doing like that
He looks so happy and joyfull!!
Wow an upload on Christmas? The best gift I've gotten today :D

Me - Immediately watches it while ignoring family on Christmas. 👍
Just got some Cine still 800t for Christmas, thanks so much good sir.
7:52 "Definitely not my strongest frame but . . ." *proceeds to take the most beautiful shot in the video (in my opinion)*
The second photo of the trucks it’s great! Happy that you tried a second shoot!
the photos came out so good! especially the one at 7:14 , I look again and again
This is kinda a very happy and upbeat video, really loving the vibe
They have literally BOXES full of cinestill 120 and 35mm 50D and 800T film at my local shop. Insane that it's sold out elsewhere!
I had a lot of carpentry jobs around Greenpoint and Williamsburg this year, the place is so photo worthy and this video makes me want to go back soon!
ahah i love how comfortable you are in front of the camera, you are becoming more hilarious each video with your humour
I love that you felt the need to explain the type skid Mark u saw

How to make joel feel like he's on thin ice: "my buddy joel is behind the camera, so... let's see how this goes."
Bobby Johns I thought the same 😂😂😂😂
Willem is so excited about the film stock omg never seen him that happy
A lot of inspiration as well. Like that kind of entertaining, just walkin around and shoot stuff with no reason, looks meditative
Great video Willem!!

Dude, where is that shop in Berlin?
Fotoimpex in Berlin, they almost exclusively sell film there
for how much did you get it??
Fotoimpex don’t have any cinestill in stock. But Jet Foto had some for 13€. That was the case on Tuesday last week.
Oh yes! Is it the one near Häckescher Markt? Only place I've been able to buy cinestill for a reasonable price (13€)
